I put a lot of time into this, so don't bash me because there is "already one on here."

Ok, first off, this is NO WHERE near as hard as Guitar Hero III's Expert career. If you've completed that, you should have no problems on this at all. If you haven't however, then proceed to read further down.

Some Tips:
Hammer-Ons/Pull-Offs- These are noted differently in Rock Band than the Guitar Hero series. In Rock Band, a hammerable note consists of a large note, followed by a noticeably smaller note. The smaller note, needs not to be strummed, only pressed as it crosses the bar.

Fender Controller- If you are lucky and have a working Fender controller, you will notice that sometimes when playing the scrolling fretboard glows blue and a percentage comes up. That means you have entered a solo. On the Fender controller only, you can use the lower set of fret buttons during this time and can finger tap your way through the section without strumming. Just press the button as the note scrolls over the bar.

Timing Window - The timing window for Rock Band is a mix between Guitar Hero I and Guitar Hero II in my opinion. It is insanely tight. This means that you have about 3/4 of a second in any direction to hit the note as it crosses the bar. If you understand this concept, solos will come a little easier to you.

Ok, on to songs.....
Danger Songs:
Foreplay/Long Time- This song is probably the best in the game in my opinion, but thats besides the point. Basically this song consists of multiple chord switches in the beginning, followed by random solos after ever verse later on. The solos aren't ridiculously long or hard in anyway, but they can be a nuisance if you aren't expecting them.

Highway Star - This song is very deceiving to most people. It gives the impression of a steady rhythm, however it then turns into a really strong solo. I personally have been a fan of Deep Purple for 10 years, so I was aware of this. In the solo, there is a section where it breaks down into GG OO GG BB GG YY GG RR GG OO, etc... very Misirlou esque. This is on kind of an offbeat, and can be a very annoying section unless you get the timing down. I suggest practicing this part, and you should be very well off.

Flirtin' With Disaster - OK WTF IS THE RHYTHM OF THIS SONG?! I have gold starred this numerous times and still can't figure it out. No matter, its pretty straight forward. The verses consist of chord to single note switches followed by random breakdowns. There is one main solo that consists of blue to green lines then weird transfers back to blue. This is probably one of the most problematic parts of the song, because the lines aren't equally spaced. Again, I suggesting practicing this part, it will save you a few minutes of redoing the song because you didn't expect it.

Run To The Hills - Ok, this song is ridiculous. It is basically nothing but insanely fast triplets with a solo in the middle. The triplets of course are chords. They go something like Y-O to Y-B to R-B or something. That is the main rhythm of the song. If you can do triplets, and do them fast, this should give you no trouble. The solo basically consists of alternating notes (I.E. B O B O B O B O B Y B Y B Y etc....). Not too troublesome compared to the rhythm.

Green Grass and High Tides - Can you say Freebird? Everything about this song is reminiscent of Guitar Hero II days. It has a catchy southern beat with two main solos I believe. The rhythm is pretty straight forward, with your average chords and single notes. The first solo is nothing to "fret" (i made a funny) about, but the second one is. Our good ol' buddy Solo C comes back. If you don't know what that mean, rapid blue to red then back to blue zigzags up the fret board. It does this for b-r and y-g. They aren't that bad, but you may want to practice them because they are a good chunk of that solo.

Finish Drum Solo Tour on Expert 50G

Ok, as one of the few people I know of that actually has this achievement, let me go ahead and say....
O M G W T F?!

This is probably the hardest achievement in the game. The drum set consists of four pads, color coded accordingly R Y B G along with a foot pedal, color coded O. The foot pedal is what gives people the most trouble because of lack of hand/foot coordination. However, there has been complaints about people's pedal not picking up the rapid pedaling. There is a fix for this. You can find it here - http://rockband.scorehero.com/forum/...pic.php?t=1523 (http://rockband.scorehero.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1523).

Some Tips:
Tutorials - Seeing as this is a new concept, I highly recommend going through the tutorials. They will teach you all about overdrive and how you activate it (its different than on Guitar and Bass).

Loading Screens - Read the loading screens in between songs. They actually provide useful information in this game. Some of them include holding your sticks loosely as to allow for bounce or resting your foot on the pedal and keeping it pressed down as to not wear out leg strength when the pedal is not used.

Friends - You can use a friend to hit the bass pedal for you, though this is kind of cheap, its doable.

Danger Songs:
(Don't Fear) The Reaper - This song is pretty straight forward and simple from the beginning. However, at the end, it gets really really hard. There is non stop pedaling going on, and the pads are something like B R B R B Y-G. This will give everyone problems that has no idea its coming. How I got through this was I took it into practice and worked each section at a time. I started with pedal, then added in R and so on.

Foreplay/Long Time - This song is directly opposite to (Don't Fear) The Reaper as it is hard mainly in the beginning (During Foreplay). It basically consists of non stop pedal (sounds familiar) with double reds and alternating G or B's. To do this you should use that bounce technique i mentioned earlier. If you bounce the stick right, the pad will register two consecutive strikes, rather than one. This means that you can hit two notes at once, allowing you to concentrate on the pedal and the alternating B and G's.

Run to The Hills - This song seems way harder than it is. It seems like it has a pretty steady pedal pattern and pretty straight forward rhythm. The only thing difficult is the constant raping of the red pad. The best way for this is usually a roll technique. Seeing as I am not a drummer, I don't know how to do that. There are tutorials online for that. You can just do what i do, and kind of bang until you're through it.

Wont Get Fooled Again - This is the hardest song on drums without a doubt. The pedal is so sporadic it is very hard to follow. The pads are pretty simple, with some crazy breakdowns every now and then. I suggest using the same technique I described with (Don't Fear) The Reaper for this one.

From Udam the Ogre: When playing drums on Expert it will make it a ton easier if you can get at least 2 Overdrive phrases. When you get the fill parts DON'T USE YOUR OVERDRIVE. It will give you a respite from drums pretty often and also help with getting your 100% on Expert songs (Say it Aint So)

Ok, I am not a singer and therefore have not unlocked this. I would feel bad if I attempted to write a guide for something I had no idea about. So I'm leaving this section open to anyone who wants to write it. Just post your guide and I will place it here and give credit where credit is due. Try to keep it in the same format as "Lord of the Strings" or "AN-I-MAL!!!" if at all possible, thank you http://www.consoleheroes.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

From Dfraz: the only tips you can really provide is to listen to the songs. If you know them you'll obvioulsy do much better. One problem i notice most people have is they don't understand the octaves, so they go from really low singing to really high when they don't have to.

Also if you want to make it really easy you can just hum the melody and you can pass it. just say "ahhhh" and imitate the singer. here is an example
YouTube - Rock Band Xbox 360 Vocal Solo Tour Expert Vasoline

From ShftLeft: I've read some of the guides and they are good, but none really have some good tips on vocals.

Beating the solo tour on easy/medium vocals is pretty much a no-brainer, just don't butcher the pitch/lyrics and you'll be fine.

Once you get into the hard/expert difficulties things get a little tricky. I recommend these steps to get your voice (at least for Rock Band) into shape:

- Listen to the songs outside of the game. If you go into a song not knowing the melody to the lyrics, you'll fail out quickly. "Run to the Hills" and "Highway Star" for example, are songs I'd never heard (not a big Maiden or Deep Purple fan) before playing this game. After listening to the songs 2 or 3 times I was able to pass the songs on hard pretty easily.

- Just match the pitch of the game, you dont have to be Geddy Lee to pass expert. One of the posts said you need "perfect pitch" when you get to expert, thats not true at all. Listening to me sing Run to the Hills or Tom Sawyer you'd assume a cat was getting it's tail removed. You just need to match the pitch that the game expects you to hit. A good way to perfect this is to practice matching your voice to certain notes on a piano, keyboard software/hardware, or in practice mode.

The most important thing IMO is knowing how the song goes. Before attempting the longer setlists make sure you get to know the crappy harmonix songs and how they go because they will kill you if you're the singer in World Tour. I've found that the songs I've listened to the most over the years are the easiest for me to do well on expert (Say It Ain't So, Black Hole Sun, Epic as I grew up in the early/mid 90s). So just get to know the lyrics and the melody of the song, match what the game expects and you should do fine.

I've also toyed with the idea of playing with my surround mix to isolate the vocals and just stick the mic up to one of the speakers. It would be cheating but an easier way to get through the platinum endless setlist by yourself without having to sing/play expert at the same time.

From ASTROBL4ACK/Fr133701ays: It is difficult to try to sing songs you don't know. They suggest maybe putting the song on an iPod or another MP3 player and just practicing in the car on the way to work/school.

Reach 1,000,000 fans 10G

Playing gigs will earn you fans. The better the performance (star rating) the more fans you earn. The amount of fans earn is exponentially increased by the number of stars total you have earned. There is a difficulty cap for fans. Easy - 49,005, Medium - 260,000, Hard - 600,000, Expert - Unlimited. The cap is assigned to the person on the lowest difficulty. That means everyone must be on expert to unlock this achievement.

This shows up as an invite after you get your PR Firm and have 450 total stars. It is located in Moscow and will be noted with a gold record. It is an 8 song set, consisting of: (Don't Fear) The Reaper, Highway Star, Tom Sawyer, Flirtin' With Disaster, Enter Sandman, Foreplay/Long Time, Run to the Hills, and Wont Get Fooled Again. The achievement will unlock upon completion of the set.

Let me start by saying that this achievement should be worth wayyy more than 25G. This is unlocked after completing the Hall of Fame Induction and having 600 total stars. It is also located in Moscow and denoted with a platinum record. The set consists of 58 songs. That is every song in the game, including bonus tracks. This isnt hard as much as it is long and tedious. These are all played back to back, no breaks. From start to finish this will take about 4 Hours and 30 Minutes, or at least thats how long it took me. If it helps any, the last two songs are Run to the Hills and Won't Get Fooled Again. See "Lord of the Strings", "AN-I-MAL!!!", or "Virtuoso" for help on your respective instruments. Happy playing http://www.consoleheroes.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

Ok, I'm only posting this once because there are like 30 of these. Ok, what this means is, each venue in a city must have a check mark by it. This signifies that it has been complete. When all the venues in a city have a checkmark, the achievement will unlock. The venues are what you see after you select a city. The sets are what show up after you select a venue. To be complete the sets DO NOT have to have maximum star ratings, only need to be complete.

This is located in the multiplayer section. You must have Xbox Live to complete this. You select Tug of War, then ranked match. After 20 wins, the achievement will unlock. I know it consists of a meter that moves back and forth depend on how well you do, but im not sure what makes it move at different levels.

Pretty straight forward. Stars are located on the upper right hand side, underneath the score. As your score goes up, the yellow ring around the star increases. To do this, go to quick play, and select Should I Stay or Should I Go. For you instrument, pick bass, then select expert. Basically, play through the song only strumming up on your controller. This can be done on the X-Plorer, Les Paul, or the Fender. I don't recommend hitting anything in the Big Rock Ending because it could cause accidental down strums.

I personally don't have this one but research says that the easiest songs for this are:
29 Fingers (Bonus Song) - This song has no bass pedal, so if thats what is bothering you then this should be no problem.

I Think I'm Paranoid - This song doesn't have any extremely hard parts, that is why its a good candidate.

This isn't hard at all. Every song in the first tier is easily 100%'ed. Just keep working at it and you will get it.

Score a 100% rating as a vocalist on Expert 10G

Again, I'm not a singer, but I have done research. For a 100% rating, all phrases must be completed with an "Awesome" Rating, Stronger or below doesn't cut it.

Songs to do this on:
Blitzkrieg Bop - Very short and pretty straight forward with pitch.

Sabotage - All Talky Parts

From Spot2009: Ok.. Paranoid has got to be the easiest song to 100% on Expert. Seriously, it's the SAME tune throughout the whole song except 3 phrases. There aren't as many pitch changes either.

I'm not sure if this has to be in Online Band Mode or any of the other modes, but basically just complete a song with someone who has completed the Endless Setlist on expert.

for the expert singing and 100% singing achievements the only tips you can really provide is to listen to the songs. If you know them you'll obvioulsy do much better. One problem i notice most people have is they don't understand the octaves, so they go from really low singing to really high when they don't have to.

Also if you want to make it really easy you can just hum the melody and you can pass it. just say "ahhhh" and imitate the singer. hereis an example YouTube - Rock Band Xbox 360 Vocal Solo Tour Expert Vasoline

and for the 100% blitzkreig bop is the easiest to do it on. Some would think sabatoge is since it has no required pitch, but i don't know can't get perfect on that one and i got 90-95% on most songs.

hope i helped =/

Ok.. Paranoid has got to be the easiest song to 100% on Expert. Seriously, it's the SAME tune throughout the whole song except 3 phrases. There aren't as many pitch changes either.

Taken off scorehero:
Easy = 49,005 fans max
Medium = 260,000 fans max
Hard = 600,000 fans max
Expert = no cap

After looking at these, I think I should be able to get close to 1000, the bass drum on Expert kills me (and I'm a drummer, by profession), and perhaps I won't be able to do Vocal Expert, but we'll see.

A suggestion, for the online ranked wins/streak, coordinate playing drums with someone at the same time, because it usually takes me 3-5 minutes to find a ranked opponent on drums, so perhaps you can hook up with a friend and do it at the same time. If that doesn't work out, my other suggestion is to play on easy or medium, and perhaps you'll get matched up against a true newb :)

Good guide, thanks.

If you need the pics for the vocal achivements I have all of them and you can take from my gamertag.

Best advice if you're stuck is to listen to the songs over and over. Learn them, and be able to anticipate what is needed next. The more you take your eye off the bar the more points you are going to lose. Don't look at the words, don't look at your score, don't look at the meter, just look at your notes. Learn the words and focus on your
pitch, the rest doesn't matter. It will take care of itself.

If you have your overdrive meter built up during an empty section blow into the mic to trigger it. It won't work down until the notes start, and you won't see the pitch arrow in that gold haze, so trigger it early and often.

Stand up. Basically, you will lose points if you can't do 2 full bars on one breath. I find this easier to due while standing up, and I can better fill my lungs. On that note, try to come in a note or 2 early and leave a note or 2 late. You are not penalized for this so use it to buy a half second to adjust your pitch or trigger star power ahem... overdrive between measures.

For the LOW notes (I have trouble with them) I find it helps to move the mic further from my mouth and it let's me drop another note. Also it seems on the real high notes, dig deep and give more power to it, and it helps push you up a half a note or so.

Don't hum. Yes some people can go through songs this way, but can you imagine doing the "endless setlist" (all 58 songs) with someone humming them? Boring as shit for the singer, and the band. If you have a problem with the fast changes in notes, then turn the mic sensitivity up. If you crank it all the way up it is VERY sensitive, and will catch every change and fluctuation you do. This is how I got the "Flawless Vocals" Achievement, I sang Paranoid on Expert with the Mic sensitivity ALL the way up, and it picked up every sound, every breath, hell I didn't know I smacked my lips, but it picked that up too. I wouldn't recomend this for every song, but there are more sensitive settings than the default, try them out and find the best balance.

For your career score, don't do practice mode. If you are having trouble with a song, go down 1 difficulty and sing it there. You will better learn the song and still might pad your score.

Just as a heads-up, the same 'exploit' that works in GH3 regarding winstreaks online works in Rock Band too: play a ranked game of score duel or tug of war, and if you win great. If you lose, at the results screen just sign out of your profile. The game does not save your winstreak until after you exit the results screen, so if you log out the game never gets the chance to wipe it.

And as GH3, it's opponent-friendly as they still get their win and you won't get dinged with a disconnect as this is after the game has finished (and you still get your loss online, heh).

soldat329x
12-18-2007, 08:37 AM
Normally, I wouldn't take to kindly to stuff like that. However, if it still records your loss online and it doesn't interfere with other players, then i guess it has no harm. Great Find!

another easy way to get this is when you play 29 fingers put it on lefty flip, then use your yellow and green buttons on the drums.
(not the drums itself but the buttons next to it) with your finger. so you dont even need sticks and there is only two colors on that song so it should be prity easy.and if you messup then go crazy untill that part is over then catch the beat again.

Also, do these stack like the others so if you do expert first you get the points for Hard and Medium at the same time?

Specifically, do both players need to be at the same difficulty or can one player play on expert and the other on hard and still get the expert achievement?

Also, do these stack like the others so if you do expert first you get the points for Hard and Medium at the same time?

Vinyl artist - lowest difficulty in the band is medium. Everyone will get vinyl artist, regardless of what YOUR charater's difficulty was.

Gold artist - lowest difficulty in the band was hard. Expert players would not get platinum artist. Everyone would get Gold artist and vinyl artist

Platinum artist - since everyone's playing on expert, everyone would get all 3 achievements.

Thank the merciful Lord that they stack. I NEVER want to do the endless setlist again.

I'm sorry, I've got to ask...exactly how much pressure are you people putting on these pedals? I'm doing Maps on expert (if you've seen the chart, you know why it's a prime example) and my bass pedal is showing no signs of wear and tear.

quick question, for the platinum artist, does everyone have to be playing on expert or only just 1 person. also, if you complete it on hard, will you also get the achievement for beating the ssetlist on medium?

Very hard. I'm almost done with everything else on expert but so far I've only been able to beat one song on expert singing. Very very difficult. It helps lots to know the song, so I recommend playing the other modes first just to get the hang of how the songs are.

MinPinz

Do the "big in" achievements unlock at any difficulty level?

Sort of. Some cities do require that certain setlists be done on at least medium, and some on at least hard. So the achievement will unlock at any difficulty which is an option. Which cities those are vary according to what city you start in...I think that cities closer to your starting point only require medium, while those you have to fly to require hard, but I'm not 100% sure. Although Moscow can be done on medium regardless of where you start. Hope that helps a little.

Thanks for the info. I haven't played much of the world tour mode, cause I hardly have anyone to play with, or they stink.

I normally play guitar and sing at the same time. I use medium for both, but the songs I don't know are very hard to do both with.

Trust me, by the time you get through playing BWT, there won't be any songs in the game you don't know extremely well. I'd never heard of most of the songs in this game that were from the 90's and 00's, but by now, I know them all like they were by Jimmy Buffett :p. (Parrotheads of the world unite!).

this has definately got me thinking about whether or not I should get the game, as it seems like something I would be able to 100% if i tried hard, being a drummer and guitarist :P

I havnt played this or guitar hero before though, so I am worried that it is a lot different/harder than the real instrument. Comments? I can play sweet child o mine and welcome to the jungle perfectly on guitar and okay on drums in real life.

Harder? It's actually easier. What it is, is different. Some musicians jump right on and have no trouble making the transition. Others can't get past the real instrument and struggle with the controllers. It's a rhythm game, not an instrument simulator. The drums are close to the real thing, but the guitar is not. With a little practice you should have no problems. If you can halfway sing, the vocals are the easiest part, if you can't carry a tune in a bucket they are the hardest part.

As for an easy 100%, that is only true if you know someone that can come play, and play at the expert level OR you can play guitar/drums and sing at the same time. All of the Band World Tour Achievements can only be achieved locally and require at least 2 instruments, thus the local friend requirement or the ability to play and sing at the expert level by yourself.

Finish the Hall of Fame Induction in Band World Tour 100G

This shows up as an invite right after you get your PR Firm.

This is not entirely true... Yes, you need the PR firm to get the invite, but you need at least 450 stars as well. My band went to the specific cities we were told we needed starts in to advance and got the PR firm after 311 stars, but couldn't play the above set until we reached 450+.

this would only be written in such a fashion if the achievements were stackable

additionally from the FAQ although it doesnt specifically say endless setlist one should assume it applies to all achievements in the game
Q. Are the instrument difficulty achievements stacked?
A. Yes, playing on higher difficulties will unlock the achievements for that difficulty and any difficulty under it. So playing on expert will unlock all four difficulty achievements for that instrument.

You can use the headset. I've heard it's not as good as the mic, but it can be used. The headset does still need to be plugged into a standard controller, you can't just plug it into the guitar controller and use it as a singing mic.

The tambourine/cowbell parts can be activated by making a popping noise or blowing into the mic. I usually just ignore it myself.

I used to ignore it but what works and gets just a few more points is I pop into the microphone when I strum. Insignificant on some songs, but others when dual wielding, it can help make the difference between 4 and 5 stars.

I have a new tip for get 100% vocal on expert.

You should have home theater or good quality TV'speakers.

1. Download "Still Alive". (This song vocal in game is clear and loudest)
2. Go to option menu. Set all audio option to lowest.
3. Choose quick play. Select "Still Alive" as expert.
4. Before the first phrase begin. Press Start and set VOCAL option like below.
- Mic Sensivity = 30%-50%
- Mic Volume = 0%
- Vocal volume = 100%

5. Put your MIC to front of your speaker. Let's the game play sing to your mic itself. 100% expert vocal will be done without sing by yaself!. (You must adjust your speaker volume to suit with your env. This should be a little Trial-and-error process.

PS. I just tried with many songs. This work only this song (Still Alive). You can also use this mwthos to pass game for other songs. (Not 100%, also failed because ingame vocal volume cannot recognize by MIC and will have noisy sound)

well, I got the FC (100%) trick on "Still Alive" by GLados to work perfect. took me 2 run throughs to get the mic setup right & then on the third the mic picked up everything.

BUT...

when I try the same trick on any of the normal tour songs so that I can beat the expert tour, it doesn't work. it will pick up the first words but then it acts like it can't even hear the voice...

I am using a regular TV (not HD or anything) with nice speakers on them. better than my widescreen so I choose this one because of the fact. I have the bass on my TV at about 25% (they hit too hard any higher) & trebble at about 75%. I have the in-game options setup the same way as described above. I started out on 40% mic sensitivity & that worked perfect for "Still Alive" but doesn't seem to on any others. I tried to lower the sensitivity maybe thinkin' the feedback had something to do with it but it doesn't seem like that's the case.

any ideas as to what it could be? I saw RPDfire has said he beat the expert tour that way so it can't be that the game won't pick up the EXACT same vocal track that's in the song...

need some help...

umm i dont remember anyone actually confirming that they could do every song in this manner. My only guess as to why gladdos works and the others done is because the voice is a very prominent part in the track. Even once the drums and the guitar and bass kick in really the only strong(louder notes) parts of song are when the bass pedal kicks on the drums and when the chorus happens (now these points of data make a beautiful line) as a result there isnt a ton of feedback between the mic and the speakers, thus getting it to pick up.

Now for your other songs i want you to try something. Turn your mic sensitivity all the way up and then sick the mic into the speaker and see what happens. When your ears start to bleed from reverberation and feedback that will be your answer as to why that "trick" doesnt work

theMilitia7v5a7
05-12-2008, 12:49 AM
to tell you the truth, I don't think i's the feedback. I'v been making/playing music for about 10-11 years now & every musician should know that once you correct the feedback, there should be no problem in picking up the actual pitches in the voice. my guess is that on songs like "Still Alive" & "Creep" (by Radiohead) they don't have a lot of chorus, reverb, or such effects on their voices. even though "Still Alive" is recorded with a synth effect on the vocals but is clear enough to where the actual effect doesn't manipulate the pitch. unlike reverb or chorus where the vocals tends to ring out longer or vibrate faster/slower than the actual recordings. some effects manipulate the vocals more than others so I'm thinking some will be possible to do this way & then others won't be.

another example is when I tried "Say It Ain't So" by Weezer as the first song to see if it would work for the tour. almost positive it can't be done on this song due to a singer/backup combo. the game only listens for the singer's pitch & not the backup's so the mic trick won't work. it will think two people are singing the same part instead of just the one combined "voice" that we hear.

these are just my opinions based on what I know from the world of playing REAL music instruments (no offense...)

Or you could just try to sing or hum or "la la" (or even meow) the vocal part and pass it legit. Just a thought.

eh...

think I'm just gonna try to sing the shit I can & do the hum/la-la trick for the rest. I can pass some on Expert vocals but not alot.

just don't feel like sittin' through the whole Expert Tour again just for a different instrument. gonna have to either way so might as well start on it now...

I cant for the life of my sing a song past medium, and that is even a challenge. but looking on youtube on videos how to sing i found a easy way to get this achievment for all the other people that cant sing. 1st use this youtube video YouTube - Rock Band Expert Vocals Gimme Shelter *Muted TV* 5GS 100% FC
has you notice the video is called Rock Band Expert Vocals Gimme Shelter *Muted TV* 5GS. You can pick Gimme Shelter in quickplay on expert and lay your mic right beside your computers speakers and the game will think it is you singing but its the video, the reason it works is because the guy muted his tv while he singed so there is no other sounds to effect the game. It took me few times to get timed right but its easy. The best way i found out pause the game and the youtube video, at the same point, the point i used is right after the the mic logo with your his/your name dissapears, then unpause both, and see how it goes.

If this is cheating, please delete this post.

Does this method work for anyone else? Ive tried using the video about 5 times and it appears to go ok untill later on in the song I get a "strong" rating which obviously messes it all up. It seems very hard to get the timing spot on.

When working towards the 1M Fans thing in BWT, Is improving Star rating or increasing difficulty supposed to increase fans/give more fans on a song already passed??

I had a few 3* Medium sets which I replayed on Hard and got 3*'s, and no new fans were given. Is this just because it was 3* and not better or are you stuck with whatever you get the first time around???

Normally, yes you have to beat the amount of stars you had previously. On some occasions I have matched a star count and recieved fans but that was going from hard to expert. I don't know if there is a difference or not.

Big in London
Finish the last remaining gig in London 10G

Ok, I'm only posting this once because there are like 30 of these. Ok, what this means is, each venue in a city must have a check mark by it. This signifies that it has been complete. When all the venues in a city have a checkmark, the achievement will unlock. The venues are what you see after you select a city. The sets are what show up after you select a venue. To be complete the sets DO NOT have to have maximum star ratings, only need to be complete.

Are these achievements only in the BWT or can they be done in the solo tour?

Is it possibile to do the BWT over XBL? If not is it possible in anyway to do it solo? At the moment I don't know anyone else with the game.

Flawless Drummer

The easiest song to get this on is 'Silver' by The Pixies, part of the Doolittle DLC pack. On expert you are only hitting the green, yellow and pedal together about once every 20 seconds! I got it on my first try!

Didn't really know where the best place to put this would be, and i had a hard time searching for it (as both Big and In are considered to short words ;D)

Anyway!
For the Big In London, &c achievements, there seems to be a lot of people saying this can be done on any difficulty. Which is sort of true.
But in my BWT, my drummer can only do it on medium, and we cannot finish a number of places because we've maxed out our fans on medium, but still need more (only about 30k on most). So you can complete the sets on lower difficulties, but you need to do a couple of sets on hard to get enough fans to be able to do them.
I think that's quite important to note, esp for anyone else who might be in my position with regards to their bandmates.

A guy walks into his doctor's office. He says "Doc, you gotta help me. You just gotta. It hurts when I do this." The Doctor replies "So don't do that."

Don't do the talky songs. It's pretty much accepted knowledge that the talky songs are harder than the pitchy songs. I don't know anybody who actually got that achievement on a talky song. I know people that have 100% talky songs, but only after lots of practice.

Just recently got this game, loving it so far. Have a couple of questions, would love some answers.

1) In Band World Tour, how many songs in total do you have to play to get all the "Big In...." achievements? For example in London there are 205 stars so you have to play 41 songs. If you have to play 41 songs at 17 different cities I can imagine it will take a long time....

I ask because me and a friend only have time to play about 10 songs each time he comes over, so I want to try and estimate how long it will take us, to see if it is worth bothering...

2) I read in the achievement guide that you cannot get 1 million fans with one guy playing on hard, but read conflicting reports on a different site saying that you can. Which is true? (I am playing guitar expert, my friend bass hard, will that net us 1 million fans?)

I ask because we don't want to have to do it all again once we do it. :)

3) Final question, regarding fans. Does the amount of fans you get after a song depend on whether you 5* it, gold star it or the % notes you hit? For example do you get more with a 100% notes hit 5 star than you do with a 95% notes hit five star?

What I guess I am asking is imagine me and my friend hit an average of 95% on each song (me on expert, him on hard), 5 starring them all, gold starring some, will we get 1 million fans?

Thanks for any responses. ( I read through most of this guide and didn't find any definitive answers so any advice would be fantastic).

. . SNIPPED FOR BREVITY . .

Thanks for any responses. ( I read through the last 5 or 6 pages of this guide and didn't find any definitive answers so any advice would be fantastic).

1) Each city has a different number of songs, but 41 is a good average, I would say, but some have a few more

2) The conflicting reports comes from the fact that at first you could only get 1 Million fans by playing on Expert. They have now patched it so it is possible to get 1 Million while playing on Hard. So yes you will eventually get 1 Million fans if you keep playing the way you are.

3) All of these factors contribute to how many fans you get: Song difficulty (not the Hard, Expert, etc... you choose, but the actual difficulty of the song. ex. Highway Star is more difficult than In Bloom), Venue size, the difficulty you are playing, and how well you do. 5 Star In Bloom at a small club on Easy and you won't get as many fans as if you 4 Star Highway Star at an arena on Expert.

Thanks for the quick, accurate reply. I guess it's just going to take a while, good to know that everything will be achievable on the difficulties we are playing on at the moment (except for expert endless setlist of course).

So 17 cities with 40 songs at each, give or take a few , that's almost 700 songs, better get started!

I can't tell you exactly, but I can tell you my experience from tonight. My wife and I were stuck at the 550k fans as well. We did "Say It Ain't So" on hard bass/vocals. 4 stared it both times. 1st time=no fans. 2nd time=2000 fans. Only went up about 6000 points between the two. She did, however, go up something like 14% on vocals, so I'm guessing the percentages have something to do with it as well. Certainly don't have to improve on your star count though, because we already had 5 stars in it on medium.

No idea...maybe try another song, as in an easier one? Even if you got 100% notes hit on Hysteria it's possible that you over strummed, which I'm pretty sure would kill the achievement.

You just need to play in a band with a player who is a platinum artist (one who finished the endless setlist on expert).

If you play in an online match vs someone who has completed the endless setlist, you will get it. Otherwise, you will have to beat it yourself in band world tour and then get it. When playing online you might just get lucky and face someone with it, that's how I got it. Pleasant surprise.

These are band world tour achievements, I believe. You have to succesfully complete the bus gig and the plane gig.

I have a question about the Score Duel Streak achievements along with the rest of that online achievements..
When I was playing and my opponent was losing bad, he forfeit..
That time, I had 3 wons, it was the 4th match and he forfeited, so that doesn't count right?
I mean, I still have my streak?
coz i'm workin on it right now i'm on the 5th trying to win and hopefully..

yes that's correct.

Polly (Nirvana DLC just released today) on Expert Drums has 8 notes in the entire song. Should be easy enough that anyone can get flawless drumming now, even myself!

do you know how many MS points?

Hey,

Just incase anyone is having trouble getting flawless singing, in The Colour And The Shape DLC there is a song called 'Doll' it is about 8 pharses long and really easy to sing on expert.:)

do you know how many MS points?

^^^

Most singles are 160MSP per song. Both of the songs you quote (Polly & Doll) are 160MSP each.

It usually works out cheaper if you buy packs of songs rather than songs individually, but I guess that all depends on whether you like the majority of the songs within a pack :)

Play with a "Platinum Artist"

I'm not sure if this has to be in Online Band Mode or any of the other modes, but basically just complete a song with someone who has completed the Endless Setlist on expert.

-Comments accepted, please leave them

Just an FYI this can be done in tug of war, I had originally thought it had to be done in band mode.

Score 100% notes hit as bassist, up-strums only, on Expert 10G

To do this, go to quick play, and select Should I Stay or Should I Go. For you instrument, pick bass, then select expert. Basically, play through the song only strumming up on your controller. This can be done on the X-Plorer, Les Paul, or the Fender. I don't recommend hitting anything in the Big Rock Ending because it could cause accidental down strums.

Charlene (Im right behind you) is by far the easiest song to do this on. It came with one of the earlier updates because I sure didn't download it but its in DLC songs area. And don't say you can't get this from DLC because I just watched the achievement unlock.
