Sanction
I try to keep every game I buy, if I have to get it again I'll rent it.
Honkymagoo
I never trade in games. I still have all of my games/systems since NES. I may be a pack rat but I hate throwing away things I loved. I've only traded in games once in my life. I got rid of some PS2 and Original Xbox games that I had never even played or that I didn't like at all. Even though I didn't like the games I feel like I'm losing a piece of myself by selling them. Plus with the 360 I rent just as much as I buy. I currently have 24 games. antnie
Even if it is a game that i will never play again i would still rather keep it than get 2 dollars for it. Besides it goes to my collection of video games.
Clipse 2
Never trade, its just not worth it. However selling them on ebay will probably net you a few more bucks for your games, especially on newer released games. For example, if I were to trade in The Orange Box to Gamestop I'd get $24 for it and they'll sell it for $55 or so. If I eBay it I'll get around $30-35 (buyer pays for shipping of course). It might not be much but at least I'm not getting shafted for $10 or more.
highpass
I have no choice but to trade at the moment as money is well tight, making it the only feasible way i can get another game. Otherwise i'd never advise doing it.
J eVeRy DaY 514
i used to never sell back games, but then it got to the point to where i had a pile of games i hardly ever played. so now, i sell back every game i beat, and use gamefly. antilucid
Before I would trade in my games, I would sooner take them to the flea market and barter with the people there. Last time I did, I took NBA 2k6, Madden 06, a few crappy Game Cubes with no boxes or instructions and left with NCAA Football 08.
n1n3t33nd3lta
well, where i'm in school and don't have a job right now, trading old games back in comes in handy. now i can't run out get every game that appeals to me, so i bide my time and trade in my old ones that i don't play or that i've already beat. or in ghIII's case the games that just piss me off. Ruthless
I rearly trade in games and hardly even sell old ones, I sell all the new games like bioshock, stranglehold, jericho and such on ebay, if there only two weeks old you get nearly full price back. Exept for jericho sold for £18 and i paid £40 from ASDA, it was only a week or so old. Class game for so cheap that dude got a bargain. I dont sell old games like Top Spin 2 theres no point you get jack shit for them, I currently have 50 retail games, mostly old, but i do have Kane & Lynch, The Orange Box, Viva Pinata: Party Animals, NFS: PoStreet, Conan, CoD4 and Timeshift
Bullet2theface
Complete rip off, rather sell on Ebay.
Gebadire
I never used to trade in games. I had acumulated about 30 games, but at Uni the only way I can afford new games is to trade in my old ones and use the credit. That and my Student cards! DFILL450
I used to trade my games in all the time. Then i realized it really wasn't worth it and was costing too much money, so i got gamefly.
botafogo007
I traded a little game called Mike Tyson's Punch Out for the NES in once and got a couple bucks credit toward some other game. I loved the game but needed the money, etc. Now even though I have the non-Tyson version on the Wii I'd easily pay several times what I got in credit for my old copy back. I've only traded 2 or 3 other times since then and always only when I can get the extra 30% credit deals or whatever. When I buy full priced games I'm usually pretty selective, and when I buy older games on the cheap they're not worth trading in anyway.
Segnius
I trade in games all the time when I get bored of them. Some people want to have a large collection, I don't care about that though, I'd rather save money on a game I'm buying. Gamestop/EB also have some pretty good trade in deals occasionally. Deyankees1
I trade alot too, When Im bored with it its gone. If you have the gamestop card you get an extra 10% not alot but its something. The most I got for a trade was $170 when I traded 5 GC games, and I think 5 360 games. It was RB6:V, The Darkness, Enchanted Arms forgot the rest but I got a good deal. oneandonlytommo
as im still at school the only way to afford games is to trade in my old ones. sometimes you get good deals and sometimes you get bad deals on trades. a coulple of months back my mate traded in cod3 and svr2007 and graw 1 and only got £5 store credit from blockbusters. Cyrex
i keep all of mine its more of a collection for me its not too bad for what i have to do to earn money around my house as i am not legal to get a job but i would not get more that $15 for any of the ones i have right now
Peace
I have several friends who buy a game at GameStop, play it for a few days and return it for full credit! Doesn't it seem like GameStop would black list somebody for doing that? I guess it doesn't hurt anything, and they also probably buy all the games they keep there as well, so perhaps Gamestop would rather not give up the good business... BlaZiN cdn
I only trade in games if either I don't like them, I beat them, or I just sick of them and I make sure I don't trade any games I think I'll regret trading.
