I hate it how every 5 seconds you have to fight. this is especially annoying when youre trying to find out where youre supposed to go. ARGH.
also I have a question. whats the BEST lineup for beating the game.
currently im at level 28 and my team is
APO, sasquatch, red butterfly and floresia.

Follow the classic rule of RPG. Get lost and you will find your way to your goal. Trying to reason with this game will lead to more anger. If you can not do that. Save often and load from the last save if you are heading the wrong way.

Look at the FAQ/Guide, Wreckon explains in great detail the best party to use, etc. Later on you can get items to prevent battles, although you will need to train to get to a high enough level to beat the last couple fights.

it would be nice if the guide listed what level you should be at during the battles..
to beat the phoneix i had to level up to 34.
anyway i dunno which characters to use. but i guess it doesnt really matter if i keep saving and so forth :)
its definitely NOT my type of game but when you want points you'll play anything lol :)
To beat the entire game you can use all of the regular characters at level 60. That is how I beat the final bosses and had very little trouble doing it, so if you can get up to 60 before then you will be coasting along without any troubles.
Is fight annoy you then just get good at them and you will be able to beat your foes in seconds, level up more and make everything even easier =)

I think you have to fight every five seconds in any game of this genre.

Yeah the battle frequency was quite annoying. Thankfully the whole auto-play fast forward feature makes things a bit more bearable.

you could always buy that thing in the casino to disable random battles. It's expensive, but hey, I guess it works.

It's a japanese RPG.. what did you expect? this is what they are.. an overworld with cities and random battles, and huge boss battles. This has been the formula since the days of NES.

Here is what I am currently doing: putting all my SP into leveling up the skills HP and Direct except I am putting Support and a little in Ranged for Karin. I am of course using all 4 characters and plan on doing the same thing Zef did since I do not like fighting with golems (do not like how they can't learn anything plus many seem to have low VP).
Holding down the Y button is your best friend in this game as I too am playing the game now to see the ending (also 1000/1000 is a nice bonus).

I beat the last boss with: Atsuma lvl 40 (4000hp) raigar (3000hp) APO (1000hp) Odin (2000p). i dont remember the lvl of the charactars but around 40

Edit: I realise this is an old thread; I do not really care as I had something to say about the topic.
Sometimes I think there must be another version of Enchanted Arms or something because I had to actively search for battles. I ran through almost every 'dungeon' area with only one or two RGE (randomly generated encounter for those who do not know).
I went through the game so far to where I am without having to seek out levelling though, the times I ran around to mess with the REG and see what the generation counters were, I did only because I thought it was wierd that I was not encountering mobs.
I have not had a problem with fights, quests, or the Casino battles so far. I use all four slots of humans when I can as they even out the battles. When one or more leave the party I have specific Golems I use to replace them.
For Kirin (sp) I use the Mermaid one... I cannot recall the name, I renamed her Lullaby. And etc, I have a few golems I use in that manner. It is a pretty easy game so far, but the storyline is a bit... stupid. The english voice actors are pants, I found it better to turn on English subtitles, and Japanese voice acting. So much nicer.
