Lots of BIG words - someone please translate (Sorry Killahkam - not you!:D )

FUBAR - I understand

Tech talk - huh?

Is this problem very bad or fixable?

i personally don't really care. there's a 15-20% chance I will get a ps3 anyway. I wish they didn't act like graphics would bring the next generation of gaming. so far, if you think about it, there hasn't been any things you can do with ps3 that you couldn't do with ps2. how are you going to win the console war sony? with metal gear solid, god of war, and katamari damacy? we'll see....

Basically it can be fixed but it needs to be fucking quick especially if the cell chip is already in mass production which im sure it is.

Hopefully sony may fix this before launch day and not just fuck the first batch of owners

To put this into as non-technical terms as I can, let's say you are a fast writer. You can write 256 pages every hour. But for whatever reason, you can't read that fast at all... you can only read a single page each hour.

That's the same difference between 16 MB/s and 4 GB/s. I find that staggering, if the picture is legit.

I mean... think of the implications: the Cell has a bottleneck on the input bus. It can't get information all that fast but it can blast it out just fine. What's that mean for read times from memory, HDDs, or Blu-Ray discs?

Whoa. Sony had better lock that sh!t up. Quick.

Thanks, I was OK up to the constipated input bus! I get the general picture, lets hope information like this continues to 'leak' so we know when it's time to buy.

BTW (Nice pic...drool)

Indeed a nice pic ;) Yeah but if you read the article a little more you can see that sony specifically ask developers to NOT work from that 16mb, they know they fucked up so bad.

Unfortunately this makes it even harder to dev for, plus the difference in triangulation is HUGE, Ms stomps on it from that point

That added to the registration requirement for the software = teh Fucked for Sony.

Plus the blu ray screw up if you get the cheaper one, seriously what the fuck is the point. I believe on that website in another article they give an estimate of a proper on the shelf date for ps3 after launch as being the november after launch...to be at the stage 360's are in availablity NOW
