Kazdan
I hate the fact that every time I get 1000 from a game, I'll stop playing it and move on to a new game and start to gain new achievements. If I play a game that I've got all the points already, I think: "All this time I could be earning more achievements and more points". I just can't help it. I'd love to play Assassin's Creed through again, or create a new character in Oblivion, or play some Castlevania: SOTN, but I already got all the points from them, so I "can't "play them. =[ Ever felt the same way? Tremlos
Yeah, and I hate it. Thats why I have just taken a break from games, just to cool my head.
Blackjaw x
I'm the same way. I'd rather there be no achievements, but the completionist inside of me makes me get them all anyway. I'm starting to near 100% in every game on my list, but come Christmas I'll have 4 more to do. After that, I'm going to try my best not to get any new games so I can play games I have 1000 in, or go outside and kick a ball around.
AlphaDog Deluxe
It was surprisingly easy for me to quit. I went cold turkey and the effects were phenomenal. Buying Fable helped me a TON. Try buying an xbox original, it will probably help you too.
wild dog
Im also the same, ive not played a game in 5 days and im more or less gagging to play a game but I know when I start I just wont stop lol. Ive just been keeping busy with work and Ive actually started to write a film. My friends keep phoning me asking me how to get achievements, that isnt helping me much. DefeatedMold
Lol yeah. I'm an achievment whore but i have yet to get 1000/1000 Closest-995 halo
Jabi1
Even if I quit playing a game when I've got full 1000, it usually means that I have already played it like crazy, so it doesn't really bother me. For example, I have 980 in Mass Effect, have played it through 5 times now, so yeah, after getting 1000 I wont be touching it anytime soon. MuhFucNAdams
You got a nice score, and you've completed some pretty tough games. And yeah, it sucks. I just started 'whoring' and I can already tell it'll get annoying.
Vista
I was a whore, I have slowed down though. GSL has taught me a lot. I play halo on average for 3 hours a day and have had 1000 in that for a long time. CoD 4, when I get it I will probably play all online, the same with NFS-Prostreet. Pukgandi
I know exactly how you feel. I like sold my wii because i refused to play it because there were no achievements. I had my mind set on starcraft 2 and making that the big chunk of my gaming life for a while, but i just think no achievements? why bother... But i guess i don't really mind being like that. Achievements show your dedication and how much of a productive gamer you are
Steelhead
I'm ALLOT like that, but when a really great MP game gets released my achievement whoring tales a major hit. Right now it's Halo3. The next one that will kill my whoring will be the next installment of the Rainbow Six series. Damn I love those games!

You only have 16,000+ points, so there's a lot of hope for you still since you're in the zygote stage. Wait until you become a "real" achievement whore, then all hope is basically lost. Only thing I can suggest is stop playing games for achievements. Play some games and let yourself get some zeroes or try and enjoy it. It took me a month or so until I got out of my phase. I had around 59,000 back in Feb but completely quit out. Went cold turkey. So hard. *tear* What I did for Oblivion was, I would make a new account so I could re-earn all the achievements again. I've beaten Oblivion probably 6 times with all new characters, and re-earned all the achievements maybe around 3 of those times.
killlah631
Yeah I used to be like this...but I recently found a cure...My new thing is that I am only going to achievement hunt during the GSL...and when the GSL ends, until the next one, I will just play games like Halo and COD4 live...involving pure multiplayer fun, and no achievements. Heroine923
It's like a Curse, the only Game I was able to play after I got 1000 was Saints Row.
Siege Is Like
im only a partial whore...i still play cod4 & gears of war online...but certain games i play through until i get a fair share of the achievements...i wont play darkness again to get the achievements because the majority of the achievements are for the horribly glitchy online gameplay. Evarist0 X
Maybe the solution to that ( if ur mind is weak and u cannot stop being a whore lol) is not to buy games haha xD. I don't buy games to often but I only have like 6k so I don't realy have to worry about it.
DoM cAbAn
For me, the only games I have the full 1,000 in are games that are ridiculously easy. I only rent these games for the purpose of the Achievements, and I don't feel bad that I never play them again. With other games, I try to take my time because I'm not in a big rush. With Call of Duty 4, I think I could have the full 1,000 in it already, but I'm not going to rush it. The game has multiplayer, so that takes up a lot of the time. I'm sure when I get the 1,000 in Call of Duty 4, I'll still be playing it months later.
badgerodoom
I just do what i feel like. If i feel like playing a game again ill do it, and if i feel like being an achievement junkie then I'll do that.
jackanape
Gotta say that once I've got 1000 in a game there is usually very little left to do anyway so I don't see it as too much of a problem. Though I do seem to spend less time online as a result which is a shame as there are some quality multiplayer games out there. Personally speaking though I enjoy single player much more and 1000 points usually means I've done everything I can do. I'm happy with that as I was never big on replaying games anyway. DFILL450
I just recently posted a thread about this too. I feel the exact same way buddy. You should stop achievement whoring while your gamerscore is still low! lol
