Why are the in-level cutscenes rendered so horribly? Why not use the same rendering from the clips at the beginning and end of each level? Someone explain, because this was a beautiful game except for that.

The in-game cutscenes look so crappy because they're done with the game's engine (which looks like it was optimized for the PS2 and then ported untouched to the 360). The movies you see before and after each level are FMV and not in-engine; which is why they look so fantastic.

lol I thought it was my new monitor. Good thing it's not. They do look extremely bad though.

I was wondering why they looked so bad myself. It's odd beacuse the main scenes look like the BD of the movie but the in game scenes look jagged and horrid... almost like Virtual Springfield quality

I made peace with that, what I didn't like however is the quality of the jokes in those cutscenes.
It seems that Matt's guys did a good job on their part but EA tried doing the ingame ones and thought they were just as funny...
