[start article] Fans of classic arcade games now have a standing date Wednesdays on Microsoft Xbox Live Arcade. Starting today, Xbox 360 owners can download Frogger, and a new retro game will be available each subsequent Wednesday this summer. Next up: Cloning Clyde (July 19th), Galaga (July 26th), Street Fighter 2 Hyper Fighting (Aug 2), and Pac-Man (Aug 9). The games have new enhanced graphics, sound effects, and multiplayer modes. Microsoft's Peter Moore says the Xbox Live Arcade has proven more popular than expected: 3 million current users have downloaded more than 5 million games or other items. "It's bolstering the ecosystem and broadening the demographics, which is something we need, and the industry needs, to do badly," Moore says. [end article]
