A friend told me this worked for him, he's done it and it works:

Okay, first delete your R6V1 save or stick it on a memory stick but make sure it isn't on a hard drive - once you've done this make sure it isn't on your hard-drive.

Second, delete your R6V2 save - move it to a memory stick but as above make sure it is deleted from the hard-drive.

Next, go to the System blade in the menu - go to menu and highlight the hard-drive (don't press anything) and then proceed to pres Y, X, X, LB, RB, X, X and choose YES to perform system maintenance.

Note: Doing this WILL clear your hard-drives quick access cache meaning all downloaded updates WILL be removed but everything else such as DLC, Saves and Achievements will remain as will your gamertag.

Next, sign out of your profile, and out of xbox live and then select 'Recover Gamertag from XBOX Live' on the LIVE blade of your console and recover your gamertag.

Once recovered restart your console and go back to the System blade, select Memory and perform the maintenance again (Y, X, X, LB, RB, X, X when hard-drive is highlighted).

Change your preferences (using the xbox guide) so that the game is auto-plays when the xbox is turned on, and auto sign in to your profile is set to YES.

Finally, put R6V2 in the disk tray and then power-off again. Power-on and try to get the achievement. Once you have it you can delete that save and use your backed-up save.

Make sure the memory card is OUT of the XBOX after saving your saves otherwise this might not work. Keep it OUT until you have the achievement.

Good luck.
I also have another way which might work but I havn't checked it yet.

That seems like a big pain in the ass for a wimpy 10GS achievement. :p

Yeah, sucks to be anyone who has it.

Hurray for avoiding the first installment of the game, which was crap anyway!

What are the consequences of doing this? Deleting your RSV2 Save? I haven't finished some stuff in Campaign.

Added "possible" to the title until someone can confirm it.

Did you bother reading the entire post?

"Second, delete your R6V2 save - move it to a memory stick but as above make sure it is deleted from the hard-drive."

Just move it back/load from the memory card once you're done...

Its bullshit, i got elite on my old account and only played the game on this account, so i still got 1250 xp which made me pass first class, wtf, this is bullshit and i might end up using your "technique"

u dont get 1250XP u get 2500 u are 1 second specialist :/ RainbowSix:Vegas is a good game but the achievements are glitched as hell. stupid glitches damn i'll try this when im elite and dont play the game ;) btw the Story mode on Realistic isn't that hard, u can do the co-op and that is very easy. in 5 a 6 hours u got all the level achievements AND the Realistic ;)

If you achieved rank elite in RSV1 you got rewarded with 2500 bonus exp... If you so much as put the RSV1 cd in your system, you get 1250 bonus exp... Which is what he was referring too.

And about this, it's a known issue and I'm sure it will be patched.

You get 2500 for either beating the first game on Realistic or getting the rank of Elite.
You get 1250 for just playing the first game.

And they don't add up, so you won't get 6250 for doing all three.

I did exactly what the first post said, but alas, it didn't work. :(

Man, I'm ticked about losing the 10g, but not enough to go through all that crap. But then, since the achievements are so horrible, I won't be going for 1000 anyhow... :(

The only work around is to lvl up your profile to Private First Class as the secondary profile/player in co-op Split-Screen before you redeem the 2500 or 1250 xp. This way you get your achievement and you get the bonus as well.

I have played RSV1, so if I delete my saved data before putting in my RSV2, will I still get 1250xp.

Yes you will still get the extra XP, because apparently it tracks your RSV1 progress through your achievements, not your saved game data.

If you haven't put in R6V2 yet just use the work around I posted above you. Thanks to Gun-Nut.

I am certain Ubisoft will come up with a patch to award everyone who got the starting ran boost with the achievement. its something called patience.

I don't fully understand what I have to do.
Do I have to level up a second profile, then sign in my regular account.

No that would be called a 2ndary profile glitch and it would make you a cheat and will get you banned.

What I mean is: Say your friend comes over and he starts up Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 with his profile as the main profile. You join in with your profile with the 2nd controller to play some split-screen terrorist hunt or story mode (which means you are now logged in as the 2ndary profile). Because your friend is the main user of the game and he has control of the menu, you can't actually unlock the bonuses because your not the host. You can still level up and keep the XP you get during the split screen you do. But until you login as the main profile you can't get the bonus XP, you can't enter the weapon codes, you can't play multiplayer over live nor can you customize your character appearance. Which also means you can get your Private First Class achievement during the split-screen and then get you XP Bonus when you sign in as the host.
