Dark Reign for the PC. The most underrated RTS in history. Unfortunately, it was eclipsed by Starcraft, which was released around the same time. (Not to be confused with the worthwhile, but inferior, Dark Reign 2.)

As far as consoles go... one that I enjoyed that most people hated on the PS1 was Legend of LeGaia. Don't really know why, but that game appealed to me. Also, E.V.O. - Quest for Eden on the SuperNES. I still play that game to this day on my emulator. I don't know if it's considered underrated, since it spawned legions of sequels, but I got a real kick out of the original Monster Rancher...

07-28-2006, 01:13 PM
I agree with Fonkey.........Indigo Prophecy.

08-12-2006, 04:02 PM

These we great RPG's, but were overshadowed by Chrono Trigger.

08-18-2006, 01:02 PM
For 360 probally Tomb Raider or Amped 3

08-18-2006, 01:11 PM
ah i wouldnt say secret of mana, i just looked on ebay and one guy had 13 bids and it was up to $38.76 with more than a day remaining. This game has always been legendary! Maybe the sequel Legend of Mana since it did not stay in stores long at all.

anyways Star Ocean:The Second Story. It was a huge comprehensive system of traits and creating items, making food, upgrading weapons, even writing books! This game was the best RPG i have ever played, i spent at least 150 hours on it. It had 80 different endings! Even Star Ocean: Til The End of Time didnt seem to sell much. oh well love the series they are in my opinion twice the game any final fantasy has been (fun wise anyways)

Rowdy Boyz
08-18-2006, 06:51 PM
I have 2.

Amped 3: I don't know why every craps on this game and says it sucks, personally I really enjoyed it a lot and found it to be one of the better games that first came out with the 360. The only bad things about it is that it kind of gets old fast, and it has no multiplayer, but other than that I think it's pretty good.

Star Wars Battlefront: 1 and 2: Both of them are pretty underrated in my books, as you never hear no one talk about them and hardly anyone plays them online. Personally, I find them both to be the best Star Wars games out there, and that they are possibly 2 of the best games I have ever played ever. It's a shame no one really plays them online anymore, they are both really enjoyable.

08-21-2006, 08:18 PM
I gotta go with Psychonauts, best platformer on the xbox.

that game was awesome

also the first Red Faction for Ps2 was really good

W. Samuel Jones III
08-22-2006, 02:25 PM
Transformers for the PS2...it really incorporated the generation 1 mythos into the current gen continuity. I loved the fight with Unicron on the final level.

Crimson Skies the High Road to Revenge for the XBOX...that in my humble opinion is a great dog fight game. One of the best for the Xbox.

Fire Mage
08-22-2006, 04:25 PM
Quite a bit of people enjoyed Indigo Prophecy.

I don't really think it was underrated. But I ended up playing the Fahrenheit game, which is the UK version.

08-22-2006, 04:30 PM
Really? Indigo Prophecy seemed to come and go, I didnt hear much about it after it was released.

Really? Indigo Prophecy seemed to come and go, I didnt hear much about it after it was released.I guess maybe it was just me because everyone I talked to liked it.

But I guess that doesn't mean it got the recognition it deserved.

I agree, I think Enchanted Arms is the most underated 360 title to date.

Bleed Blue08
09-12-2006, 06:47 PM
I haven't played anything underrated for the 360 yet, but for the original Xbox I really enjoyed Psychonauts, Beyond Good and Evil, and Indigo Prophecy. Now that I think about it I'd say that Amped 3 was a game I really enjoyed playing through. The story was very unique and the gameplay was pretty soild.

09-20-2006, 10:23 PM
I know I'm going back many moons but - Friday 13th on Commodore 64, you can't beat a game that scares the hell out of you! We were easily pleased in those days weren't we??
Also I seemed to be one of the few who liked Clocktower (PS2)and Kameo. Shadow of Memories was the first one of the first xbox games I played and I thought it was amazing - just wish it had been longer.

09-20-2006, 10:58 PM
NES: Star Tropics
SNES: Kablooey!
N64: WCW/NWO Revenge
Dreamcast: The House of the Dead 2
PSone: Twisted Metal 2
PS2: Indigo Prophecy
XBox: Super Monkey Ball Deluxe
GC: SSX Tricky
360: Perfect Dark Zero (I've seen a lot of haters)

Predictions for the future:
Time Shift and/or Fuzion Frenzy 2

05-09-2010, 02:29 PM
Gothic 1 and 2

05-09-2010, 05:04 PM
Yakuza & Persona series.

05-09-2010, 05:14 PM
Thief: Deadly Shadows. Actually the entire Thief franchise is very underrated imho.

05-09-2010, 05:31 PM
Final Fantasy XIII, so much hate but this is easily my 4th favourite in the series. Well, maybe 5th if I count Tactics. Plus it's my favourite RPG of this gen so far and I've pretty much played them all, except for Demon's Souls!

Beyond Good and Evil, pretty great game.

SMT: Nocturne, I like it much more than Persona 3 and 4

Blue Dragon, really solid old-school RPG.

Shadow Hearts 2: Covenant, really solid RPG.

Clocktower series, very fun games.

Thief series, very fun games.

Grand Theft Auto 2, easily the best of the series IMO.

Star Ocean 2, one of my favourite RPGs.

Breath of Fire series, fun games.

And there's more I guess. But these instantly popped in my head.

05-09-2010, 05:37 PM
Unreal Tournament, everyone I know hates it.

05-09-2010, 05:43 PM
Unreal Tournament, everyone I know hates it.

That one too. I really like it a lot as well.

05-09-2010, 07:04 PM
Okami on PS2. This game is legend!

05-09-2010, 07:15 PM
I don't think it's underrated, I don't see many people hating on it.

But it's still a great game.

05-09-2010, 07:24 PM
DARK VOID every magazine and website gives it 4/10 - 5/10 i think its really good

05-09-2010, 08:56 PM

I've played Need for Speed Most Wanted. That is an underated game in my opinion. Since the Underground series, Most Wanted has been the best Need for Speed since.

I loved that game! I picked it up for 2.50 in CeX and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I just need to go through and get the three hardest achievements now! (Two difficultys and a secret)

Its Hazard Time!

i agree, i could not believe it was that good, and cheap as well

I have to confess I bought it because I was bored and wanted to hit the 40,000 :gsicon: (I think I didn't start playing it untill after the 40,000 though) - Was impressed by it! I keep looking for good deals like this. I got Perfect Dark Zero for 3 pre-owned (but brand new as someone had just sold it to the shop with the wrapper on it - he had had it a looonnnnggg time)
I looked at the achievement list, and unless someone can help me boost it, I won't be playing it! My younger brother has it in his room at the mo lol

05-09-2010, 10:22 PM
i tried perfect dont, didnt really dig it tho so i took it to gamestop lol

05-09-2010, 10:26 PM
From all the lists I read about great N64 games I never see: Starfox, Battle Tanx: Global Assault or Rush 2: Extreme Racing USA (stunt gamemode). I played all those games constantly

He can keep it for now... Im not too botherd :)

If I had to choose a game, I'd have to go with Red Faction: Guerrilla. Although its (semi) known, the online is almost dead and the developers have completely stopped supporting the game to start on other projects, I find that it wasn't given the proper recognition that it really deserves. It's a fantastic game that was shoved underneath the rug that was the AAA games of 2009. Whoever hasn't played it yet, should go and pick up a copy.

05-09-2010, 10:34 PM

I have always wandered about playing that. A friend has it too, but his Xbox disk drive has cocked up and he doesnt have the money to replace/fix it.
If I can find it for a reasonable price I'll get it so when he fixes his xbox we can play it together.

Twisted Metal 2 on original PlayStation as already mentioned, also Future Cop LAPD on same system.
Unirally on the SNES also Tetris Attack, imo the best puzzler ever.

On 360 I'd say Mirror's Edge and WET having recently completed that, and quite suprised how much I liked it.

05-09-2010, 10:55 PM
jade coccon 2 for PS2. Its like a badass version of pokemon.

I played that game but sold it because I didn't like it.
A few days later a amte brought it round and we did split screen on it. Thoroghly enjoyed it, so I'll end up getting it again :)

Dead space, it's a fairly well known game perhaps, but nowhere near what it should've been. Great atmosphere, good sense of immersion, really fun weapons and being able to sever every limb from your enemy even when they're dead? Brilliant.

The DLC is fucking stupid though and the scares get predictable after like the 2nd one, but still a good game.

Aside from that, I haven't really played that many games outside of the usual "big hits" like AC/2, Bioshock/2, ME/2, COD titles, fallout 3 etc...

Mr. Strahovski
05-10-2010, 04:15 AM
Some may not agree, but I feel like both Dead Space and Borderlands don't get enough respect. These are two amazing games and if you haven't played them you should really give them a shot.

Eat Lead, The return of Matt Hazard

Brought this game Pre-owned for 5, and so far has boost my gamer score by 800 points and has turned out to be quite a funny game. Was defiantly worth more than 5.

05-10-2010, 05:10 AM
simply talking about Xbox 360 games.....i'd say The Godfather II is very underrated. Sure it wasn't a fantastic game by any stretch of the imagination.....but i actually found it much better than the original which was just clunky....plus the achievements were fun and easy! Again...unlike the chore that was the original's.....and i'd also throw in Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. Not the easiest achievements...but by FAR the best "kids" game i have played on my 360.

05-10-2010, 09:26 PM
Crash Time/Crash Time 3

most people haven't even heard of them, nevermind played them!

05-10-2010, 09:27 PM
Earth Defence Force 2017.

Even I underrated it before I played it!! Brilliant fun for a game with bad graphics, voice acting and plot. So addictive!

Quantum of Solace is an underated games, i enjoyed the online on it.

05-10-2010, 10:59 PM
I would say Star Ocean 2: The Second Story for the ps1. I literally lost about 200+ hours playing this game. I got it on sale for $10 and in my opinion it is still the best ps1 game ever!

05-11-2010, 01:18 AM
I would say in all the .Hack//G.U. series on Ps2 (and the whole .hack series in general) :D
I loved those games so much, put alteast 200+ hours on all 3 games combined.
I loved the score, gameplay and story.
They got bad reviews(4or5/10) but i thought it was the best series to date :)

Sonic and the Sacred Rings

Everyone says it's a bad game, but it's personally my favorite game on the Wii. Probably my favorite Wii game on my list.

05-11-2010, 01:59 AM
Overlord on the 360 was pretty under rated IMO.
