Which can you think of? Across all platforms, ever.

I've just completed Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and Chapter 18... wow. Five bosses, rooms full of the toughest enemies in the game (which you have to defeat to continue), dozens of ghost fish (that have virtually unavoidable attacks) and no shops to buy health items unless you backtrack out of the whole area and cause all the enemies to respawn again.

Another one that still pisses me off to this day: the underwater dam level in Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles on the NES, with the electric seaweed and time bombs. Absolutely heartbreaking to play that level as a child.

I agree with you, He's so hard in the first one. :( Second one disappointed as he was too easy.

Besides that, i'd have to go with Battletoads, especially that really fast level, you need like the best reflexes ever to beat that.

The Water Temple in the first Zelda for N64 was pretty damn confusing.

Also, steering the water creature in Kameo was extremely frustrating for the first few hours of trying to get A rankings. >.> (I guess the above one reminded me of this one).

Can't think of many more... I don't have trouble with FPS games and that's all I play, but usually any other type of game can be really frustrating for me but I'd look stupid posting it here as you guys may find it easy.

Well you are right that it was mentioned... But I would consider it one of my hardest achievements. I jumped up and down when I finally got it. I would think that others on this board agree as well.. But your opinion is your opinion..

Final Fantasy X hard? I found that game to be way too easy. Once you learned to play around with sphere grid you could make your party godly.

I'd have to say one of the hardest things for me would be getting a character to level 75 in FFXI, still haven't done that yet.

Kind of a different way to think about this, playing against clans on shooter games. You always lose, but you don't want to quit and look like a pussy.

Most the time your going to loose because your own team don't have the teamwork and communication that the clan your playing agains't has. But if im in a random against a full clan we will probably loose but i'll make sure my personal score is better then everyone in the other teams so it doesn't seem such a loss ^^ Alot of the time doing this we end up winning against the clan lol.

Last Summer (2007) we had a clan match in Rainbow Six Vegas, i was running a little bit late because i had baseball practice but when i signed on i sent a chat to my friend and he said that they had been playing for 2 1/2 hours already. Keep in mind this was around 8pm and the winner wasn't decided until around 1am PST that morning. We practically played a clan match for 5+ hours. We were playing Attack and Defend and went through every map twice, including both DLC map packs.

That was hard enough but the real hard time came in the Attack and Defend match on the Damn. It was a 20 minute match and we had to escort the hostages to the extraction point while the other team was trying to prevent the hostages from being extracted. This was a pretty good clan and with only 2 minutes left i rushed it kill 4 guys with one clip of a FAMAS and then as i backed out of the room to reload and re-enter there was a guy behind the hostage waiting for me and i just barely missed the hostage to kill him. I got the last hostage (and keep in mind Damn is probably the biggest map of them all, it takes about 1:45-2:00 minutes to get from one end to another), i was weaving back and forth dodging bullets and then finialy i got out of harms way and as i got to the extraction point an enemy player was coming towards me straight ahead and since i was playing relaxed thinking they couldn't catch up i didn't see him to my teammate stepped in front of me and took him out. Escorted the hostage with 6 seconds left to force another round of A&D. God that night was fun.

Obviously few people here have played Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 on the XBLA. The boss at the end, Shao Kahn, he is one mean son bitch!! Anyone whos played that game will tell you here's stupidly hard to beat. Must have taken me at least 3 solid hours of trying over and over again with every character.

We tend to have one of these threads every month, if not more.

A lot of old SNES/MD games were a lot harder but if you're talking 360 then stuff like getting Golds on Portal, COD series on Veteran, blah blah

The rule on that one is to be as cheap as the AI is. I typically use Kitana and just keep on using the fan followed by a three hit combo..

my own hardest time in gaming was the fall of 2003 when i was flat broke and basically sleeping on an airmatress in my rapidly emptying lakeshore apartment...heh heh all i had left was my PS2, Manhunt and a tiny TV. those kept me sane basically, i'll never forget that. that's why i'll never be a Sony hater all the way hahahaha.

Trust I couldn't beat Yunalesca (however you spell it) I mean the 1st form was hard but the last 2 were impossible. I just trained and leveled up until I could learn some new moves and get my HP up by like loads. But I did it in the end. Elite on Vegas was quite tough as I remember. It took me like 3 months non stop playing and then when I was elite I though phewww!

Again, just like the scary thread, i have a few:

GH3, Raining Blood on Expert
N+ for XBLA was just designed so you could commit suicide. Seriously, some of the levels in that game are just insane. A few of honourable mention are: Master Control, Paper Thin Walls, Crawling Walls, Stuck In Traffic, and about 50 more.
The second boss in NG (Samurai Horsemen, i forget his actual name, starts with an M) for the first 3 months. UI came back to it about 1 month later and pwned him.
Trying to knife El Gigante X2 in Resident Evil 4 because i ran out of ammo for some reason.
Summoning the Willpower to play through the level "Cortana" in Halo 3 for the third time to beat the Meta-Score.
Again, having the Willpower to get around Beating Overlord
Beating "Border Patrol" in Manhunt. Seriously , that took 3 months of solid game to finally break that level.

There are probably a few more, such as Shao Kahn in UMK3, Beating Larry in Dead Rising with 2 minutes left and Robotron. But the ones above are probably worse. Because UMK3 is fun, Robotron is pure awesome, And just start a new Game in Dead Rising to do it with more time.

Um.... Beating Emerald Weapon in Final Fantasy 7 has probably been the most difficult one for me so far. You had to plan ahead to get certain items, train chocobos to go after said items, level up your characters/materia so far to a stand chance, and then it was a twenty minute time limit unless you had the Underwater materia that took away the limit. I ended up doing that one with one character (Cloud) on something like level 80+ (I don't remember) and it took me several tries to beat him. The fight that I did win took around forty minutes to complete and I spent most of the items and spells that I had beating him. Very difficult fight and to top it off, it was just an optional fight and you got next to nothing for doing it; just bragging rights. You basically had to take down a monster with something along the lines of 1 million+ hit points and he also had an UNBLOCKABLE attack that instantly killed your party. Ways around that one, but it was a fun challenge. Anyone else manage this one?

Yeah I beat emerald and ruby in that game. Played it to death, got every materia possible in the game and maxed out every character to lvl 99. Not sure why with no achievements, but I did.

On the 360, my toughest so far is perhaps Grand Pearl Pooh-Bah in Hexic or all Platinum medals including Platinum Plus in PGR4.

Overall, I think getting 232 platinum medals in PGR2

Me to I have many achievements on my gamercard which took a lot more time and effort to do then this overrated achievement. Anyways for me it is my last two race on spiderman 3 I have to gold, they are an absolute bitch, I have been trying to do these races for about two weeks now I am having a break from them now and will return soon to get my 1000 in that game.

I could never beat emerald weapon up until about a month ago when I watched a youtube video of some guy doing it in about a minute, when I saw the setup I realized what the hell I was doing wrong and beat him with cloud alone in about 2 minute.

Beyond the two weapons in FF 7, I still think COD 2 was the hardest game I ever played on veteran and that stupid Silo mission is still the hardest level in any game especially when you keep getting to the point where there should be a checkpoint but the checkpoitn wont pop up. I stil have not beaten that and probably will never go back to it but I might.

Cant really think of anything else that was as difficult as those two parts of any games I have ever played.

This I got to see... Beat Emerald in a few minutes? You must be joking, I've got to see that one; what's the name of the file on Youtube?

Well I dont know the exact name of the video but just type in Emerald weapon and it will pop up. The basic premise is simple. Emerald Weapon has 1,000,000 hit points. You can take any character with a multi-hit limit break--(I saw Tifa, and Barret, and did it with cloud) who has maxed out stats (power sources and such from morphing in the underwater gelinka even if the stats are not maxed it still works with a hero drink). You give them their limit break maxed out (Omnislash is what I used, Barret's was Ragnarok, Tifa has the chain limit break). You use the Ulimate Weapon of whichever character you are attacking with. You have Mime Master 8x and paired with the blue counter materia 8x (this will counter with the attached materia which is mime). First thing you do is give your main character a hero drink. Attack immediately with your limit break, and take no action with your other two characters. Omnislash hits 15x for 9999 each time (which one cut is enough to kill the emarlds on the arm when they light up). Emerald weapon will then attack with the chest laser. (If you get attacked with the air stamp then it will kill your main character but your other two will go into the 7777 rage if the setup is right--see below) After it attacks you will counter 8x with omnislash which should be enough to kill it even if the attacks are not maxed out they should still be around 8000 each which if you do the math (8000X15X8=960,000+your original omnislash attack=death to emerald weapon)

Also You have your two non attacking characters concentrate on healing your one character but you probably wont have to heal as the combo will defeat emerald weapon after one turn---give one the final attack-phoenix combo and give one the regen/enemyskill with big guard but no other materia.

Depending on the character it could take as little as 1:30 I believe thats what I saw Barrett do it in but dont quote me on it. I did that with cloud in about 3 or 4 minutes because his damn limit break takes forever (the animation). There are also videos of someone doing the same thing against Ruby Weapon, but I think the set up was different.

Demon Gate in FF7 was difficult but only if you couldn't be bothered levelling up and making use of the front and back row in the battle.

Emerald Weapon... now THAT guy was hard, as was Ruby.

FF games in general aren't difficult, if you're levelled enough.

4th time saying it, Mile High Club is NOT hard. just time consuming to beat properly (if u consider an hour time consuming...)
