Ever have a gaming experience where you thought "yeah! i rock!!!" a time where you exceeded your own limits, achieved something truly skillful or cool.

A fond memory of mine when i did this was on Halo 2. One of the big blue mothers with the orange weak spots leap out at me at very close range. i gad an assault rifle equided, i let out a yelp. by the time i'd said "aghh!" he was dead. in that fraction of a second i'd equiped a sniper rifle, zoomed in, taken aim and felled him with one spot. i'm no where near that fast or accurate usually

Well besides the fact that i Rock all the time this one stuck out. I play alot of RSV1 &2 and COD4 MP and have had great stuff happen but this one was fun because of the situation and all that was at stake.

Last Summer (2007) we had a clan match in Rainbow Six Vegas, i was running a little bit late because i had baseball practice but when i signed on i sent a chat to my friend and he said that they had been playing for 2 1/2 hours already. Keep in mind this was around 8pm and the winner wasn't decided until around 1am PST that morning. We practically played a clan match for 5+ hours. We were playing Attack and Defend and went through every map twice, including both DLC map packs.

That was hard enough but the real hard time came in the Attack and Defend match on the Damn. It was a 20 minute match and we had to escort the hostages to the extraction point while the other team was trying to prevent the hostages from being extracted. This was a pretty good clan and with only 2 minutes left i rushed it kill 4 guys with one clip of a FAMAS and then as i backed out of the room to reload and re-enter there was a guy behind the hostage waiting for me and i just barely missed the hostage to kill him. I got the last hostage (and keep in mind Damn is probably the biggest map of them all, it takes about 1:45-2:00 minutes to get from one end to another), i was weaving back and forth dodging bullets and then finialy i got out of harms way and as i got to the extraction point an enemy player was coming towards me straight ahead and since i was playing relaxed thinking they couldn't catch up i didn't see him to my teammate stepped in front of me and took him out. Escorted the hostage with 6 seconds left to force another round of A&D. God that night was fun.

If it was an achievement that i felt like i rocked after i unlocked it then it would have to be one of these -

Mile High Club
Elite in RSV1
Level 50 in Forza 2
Overkill in Halo 3

When I was in a race with 16 people in GTA, six laps first turn I get slammed into the corner my car explodes I am in sixteenth and am 19 seconds back. Long story short I pass the guy in first on the last straight away.

I would have to say Halo 2 Zanzibar Assault. I was defending at the time and we were almost done with the round when I saw a guy kill the other teams sniper who ran in the base as an attempt to further arm the bomb. The person didn't pick up the sniper so I said why not and picked it up. We killed a couple of people trying to get to the bomb when I noticed a red dot on my radar behind me to the left a little coming through the top or the gate I don't know because I turned as fast as I could and fired the sniper at what appeared to be nothing because the guy was invisible and got a headshot killing him. What I wouldn't give for the save feature of Halo 3 to have been on 2 and the ability to hear that guy right after he realized what happened.

oh so so many.

gears of war, I shot a random boom shot in a game with friendly fire on ACROSS the map gridlock, and it killed everyone on my team and theirs. bittersweet :D

Halo 2, I stuck a banshee on the map "waterworks" and it flew up in the air, exploded, hit a rock on the ceiling, the rock fell, hit two people, triple kill

guitar hero 2, failed jordan on expert numerous times then I tried tapping the end of solo c (not sure if it was c or not) and I beat it.

halo 3, no scoped a guy coming down on the mancannon on valhalla with the sniper rifle in the head and it killed another guy with a body shot that was WAAAYYY behind him by the mongooses

Joust, killed a free-flying pterry and turned around and hit another one and then turned around again and hit another, netting my achievement

shadowrun, quickscoped an elf in the head that was rifling me down from across the map

GTA san andreas (PC) online, got killed by two guys working together in a free-for-all server, they drove away. I respawned by planes, flew to them, flew over their car, jumped out, rolled in front of their car, headshotted the driver, other guy got out, I stole the car, he stole my plane, I got a rocket launcher and blindfired him out of the sky, and the plane fell on two people. needless to say, they didn't work together anymore.

But yeah. Thats about it. I remember those moments because I suck at all those games normally :P

I have had this happen too many times to count. The one that really stands out was on Halo 3. My team was down one kill and the other team needed one for the win. I jumped to avoid a mongoose and threw a stick grenade. It stuck to the rear tire of the mongoose and exploded killing the driver and passenger and we won. I still have the video of that. It was awesome because I suck at Halo. I never played parts 1 or 2 and only bought part 3 for the 4 player co-op and game replays.

Over 500,000 points in GHIII (Stockholm Syndrome on hard).
Winning an Halo 3 game with a triple kill stick when the other team needed one kill to win.
Whenever I barely win a race in Burnout Paradise because of a shortcut or drive-through.

This topic is one big show off parade.

I didn't buy COD4 on release, and whilst browsing certain forums I saw countless topics of people getting stuck on One Shot One Kill (Ferris Wheel) and NFITWR on Veteran. I started Veteran regardless and did OSOK on my second try and NFITWR with 2 minutes to spare, I then moved on to Mile High Club and did it on my 10th or so try, after getting to the hostage 4 times and shooting the wrong guy. My TV was so small back then, I couldn't tell who the fuck was who.

Anyway, yeah I was pretty impressed with myself. I knew I was good at shooters but all my mates used to say I lagged, so I believed them and never thought I was very good. Until I got COD4 and they all admitted to lying. Jealous goons.

I will admit to being crap at mp, so Imagine the smug look on my face when I clocked 5 achievements in one game in timeshift. Other than that, not losing makes me happy and gives me that I rock glow.....Any other time, I'm cannon fodder!

There was one match in Gears of War, on the rooftop map (I forget its name, this was a while ago) where my team all got killed, leaving me alone against 4. I took cover and managed to snipe 3 of them as they tried to cross the map, retreated, and had a sniper stand-off with the last guy. We both broke cover, he shot me in the body, I shot him in the head to win. It's probably the only time I've been congratulated by strangers in a game and it felt good. :)

The reason it stands out so much is that I was never all that good at Gears, and in most games I only use a sniper rifle once every, say, 30 matches. Also of note was last night when I got 3 headshots in the space of about 10 seconds on CoD4 while sniping. All the many hours of my hands uselessly spazzing out trying to snipe people is worth it for moments like those.

Probabally 22 kill streak on Free for all on wet work, no one could find me and I ended up winning after time ran out for 22-0 :D

On the PC version of Unreal Tournament 2004 when I killed 6 people without touching the floor using a flak cannon.

I jumped off a bridge killed two people while falling landed shot and jumped off a guys head back into the air to yet kill another 3 people before touching the floor.

That day I decided to become a god and start my own religion. ^^

Lol, nice. UT2004 is a legendary game, although though I do suck at it. I still play it fairly often, for what it is, it has almost more replayability than any other game I've played. Next to Guild Wars.

Assault racing has kept me busy for the past 4 years and it still isn't getting old, the online community is huge and the gameplay is better than some games being released today. If only they could release another UT2004. UT3 was a letdown, no Assault? No Thanks.

Probably in Vegas 1. We were doing Attack and Defend on Calypso (same old same old lol) and the enmy got the package suprisingly early on us (yes I am bragging a bit about how good my team was). We killed him just before he scored and got on the roof. For about 18 minutes, we defended the heliport with most Deagles (ran out of ammo very quickly). I finished with about 48 kills and...I wanna say 6(?) deaths.

Another would be a defensive 3 on 7 win for us in Vegas 1.

xD i lol'd. I'm thinking something Magnum PI-esque?

There's been a couple of times on Gears when i've totally owned a 4 on 1. The most memorable, 3 guys at once on execution, they kept getting back up and almost killing me, managed to get all three, then got a headshot on the other guy :) They were all pretty good players too, not just some skillless tools haha, have to clarify that.

The greatest I KICK ASS moment though was just the other day when i got Lord of the Strings on Rock Band. Rang a mate and just shouted "BOW DOWN TO YOUR LORD!" at him and hung up, so proud and happy.

Back in the COD3 days, I once got 500-odd kills in a single hour match. In Eder Dam, I just kept running up and down the 'tunnel' with a Medic pack and destroying/reviving everything. I have no idea how I did it, I just know that I probably got about 30 "cheating" complaints on my profile that night. :p

Other things:

Throwing a random frag from spawn on... some Halo 3 map (the one that's like Narrows but bigger), and later watching it go all the way from the Energy Sword spawn (where I spawned), into the Gravity Lift, up it, and at the feet of some other guy, killing him.

Boomshotting some guy on Gears, Gridlock from the sniper tower to the Boom Spawn, just as he was about to chainsaw a teammate.

Beating all 50 episodes on N+.

full of yourself, you are ;)

anyways, i once killed 6 people with a nade in CoD 4

in gears one time, i ended up being the last person 4 out of 5 rounds in a match and ended up killing the whole time by myself each time.

and then one day, after months and months and months of playing every night before i went to bed... i finally beat street fighter II without losing a round. boy, was i pumped.

and surviving a mil in geo wars was something words cannot describe.
this is why i rock!

I've got to say Marxor, beating all 50 episodes in N+ is beastly, Thats defiently one of the better ones in this thread.

My greatest gaming moment was Madden 2005 my second season in a madden league (The league had been going on for about 2 years of madden which equates to about 12 season 1 season =2months) after only playing madden against the computer and never really against another person----going undefeated and winning over $2500 by blowing out the leagues former champion 68-7 and winning every title they had on the season (Best Offense, Best Defense, Most rushing yards, Most Passing Yards, Most interceptions, Most sacks--with the falcons). Then the next season going 14-2 and winning the championship again (This time with the Texans same thing on awards) grand totaling around $5500 in a two month span.

I have a saved video on halo 3 of a game I was playing with friends on neutral assault on (whatever the map is called with the bridge in the middle and man cannon on one side), had one friend on my team that just plays a few times a month if even that. We had finally made it into the other teams base to plant the bomb, he has the bomb and plants it as I shotgun and kill one guy then grenade another, the other 2 guys kill him after he plants the bomb and are defusing. A guy that spawned was running towards them, i throw a sticky that lands on his face and just as he is passing by the other 2 guys it blows up and kills all 3 of them when they had just about defused it. It was just like random luck but it was really cool at that time and made me feel really awesome.

Then beating GH2 on expert, beating green grass high tides on expert rockband, beating every song on gh3 expert except raining blood. A lot of COD4 matches.
