This achievement isn't hard to earn, but it can be time consuming. Your best bet would be to use the easiest difficulty, Chieftain, and then select a civilization. To make it easy on yourself, start from the left and work your way to the right when selecting the next Civilization that you have used. And from there it's just a matter of winning.

The fastest way to do this, is to play the Scenario: Lightning Round on Chieftain and focus there on a Technology Win. You only need to research 24 Technologies and even less because you get a few Techs for free at the start of the game. It will usually take 15 Minutes per game much faster than regular.

Difficulty --- Deity
Scenario ---- Beta Centauri
Civilization ---- Greeks or any other civilization

Once the game has started:

Change your government to Monarchy to start. Defend with your 1st Modern Infantry. Barbarians will most likely attack you, which in time is good for you, as itíll upgrade your unit making them better defenders.

Go into the city screen and immediately press (Y) and this will switch your city from producing science, (which you donít need because you have all technologies), and youíll start producing gold. Next go customize your workers, putting some on food, some on tech, and some on gold. Then change what you are building to a temple. Once youíve built the Temple, build the Cathedral.

At this point you should get your first Great Person or be close to getting them. You should settle any Great Person, unless itís a Great Builder. In which case you should use the Great person to complete a wonder for you. Magna Carta should be the first wonder you build.

Next you should build a Courthouse, then a Market, then a Bank.

Once you have 100 gold and you earn your settler, use that settler to build a new city. In this city you should go in the same order building a Temple, Cathedral, Courthouse, Market, then a Bank. You should also immediately change from science to gold. Also remember, if you canít settle a Great Person in your capital, move the Great Person to your second city and settle them there.

Never use a Great Person other then to settle them, unless you can use that Great Person to complete a Wonder, or if you can use that Great Person to Culture Flip a city. If you get a Great Person that you canít settle in your first 2 cities, hold on to them and build a 3rd city or take over a city and settle them in the next city.

At this point you should build 2 more modern infantry for each city, and combine them to make an army, and you should build 1 Artillery unit that will help defend the city. Build a road between each city. Once other civilizations start bothering you, defend with the modern infantry but use your Artillery to fight the enemies Artillery.

But once you have those defensive units in place, you can start building wonders. Start building Wonders from the lowest amount up to the highest. If you get a Great Builder in the middle of a Wonder, hold on to them and use them to build one of the higher cost Wonders. Also in between Wonders, us your gold to build a building before you start the next Wonder. Like a Factory, Iron Mine, or some other building to help you raise your production. And make sure that you build the Manhattan Project and not another Civilization.

Youíll come to a point where eventually youíll have to take over a city or 2. This will allow you to build more culture, and in so doing will allow you to flip cities using your culture.

***You can only flip cities if you know they are there. You could be just a few moves away, but if its under the war fog, then you canít flip it***

The best way to take over cities, are to mass produce Bombers, form some wings, and have them do all the attacking of cities. Then once they are sufficiently whittled down, move in some ground forces to take it over.

Once youíve taken over a city, the first thing you want to do is build a temple, buy it, and then start building a Cathedral. Then next round youíll buy the Cathedral and start building a Courthouse. Next round buy the Courthouse and what you build after that is up to you, though Harbors, Granaries, and Aqueducts are a good way to go, (Because the bigger your city, the more culture you earn) By doing this you are increasing your Culture and chances are youíll start converting cities over with your culture. Also, donít forget to build roads connecting every city that youíve taken over.

Feel free to take over capitals, since palaces give you more cultureÖjust donít take over ALL capitals. You shouldnít need to flip to many cities, as Wonders built and Great People settled should account for about 14+ out of the 20 needed to be able to build the United Nations.

Once you have 100 gold and you earn your settler, use that settler to build a new city. In this city you should go in the same order building a Temple, Cathedral, Courthouse, Market, then a Bank. You should also immediately change from science to gold. Also remember, if you can’t settle a Great Person in your capital, move the Great Person to your second city and settle them there.

At this point you should build 2 more modern infantry for each city, and combine them to make an army, and you should build 1 Artillery unit that will help defend the city. Build a road between each city. Once other civilizations start bothering you, defend with the modern infantry but use your Artillery to fight the enemies Artillery.

But once you have those defensive units in place, you can start building wonders and buildings as you desire. What you really need to do, is build the Manhattan Project so that no other Civilization has nukes but you. Also, make sure before you really start produce units that all buildings are built in both cities, and don’t be afraid to use your gold to help build buildings.

Once you’ve got all buildings built in both cities, start mass-producing Flying Fortress’ or if you’re not playing the Americans, Bombers. Once you’ve got three combine those into wings. Once you’ve got 8 wings of bombers, use one city to build Modern Infantry, and once you’ve got 5 armies of those, stop producing bombers and modern infantry and instead build Tanks in one city and artillery in another. 3 armies of each of those and you are ready to rock and roll!!!!

Keep your artillery with your Modern Infantry, and keep your nearby also. Take your bombers, you should have at least 10 wings, and just attack the nearest city. You may lose a few wings, that’s ok though, have your 2 cities go back to producing bombers. Your bombers should whittle away and finally destroy all opposition in the enemy city. Once the next round starts, use your bombers again, if your bombers are no longer able to attack then it’s time to use your tanks to take over the city.

Once you’ve taken over a city, the first thing you want to do is build a temple, buy it, then start building a Cathedral. Then next round you’ll buy the Cathedral and start building a Courthouse. Next round buy the Courthouse and what you build after that is up to you, though Markets and Banks are a good way to go. By doing this you are increasing your Culture and chances are you’ll start converting cities over with your culture. Also, don’t forget to build roads connecting every city that you’ve taken over.

Anyways, dock all Bomber Wings in your new city, including new ones you’re your 1st 2 cites have built while fighting, along with all your tanks, Modern Infantry, and Artillery. Leave at least 1 army of Infantry in your new city before you start to attack a different city, though I always found it to be a good idea to leave 2.

And pretty much what you’ll be doing is rinsing and repeating. Have your bombers do almost if not all the city battle and then let your ground troupes take the city over. At any point you can stop for a few rounds to replenish your army and then start attacking again.

I’ve found that after taking over an enemy Palace they will normally want to make peace with you, though sometimes there is an exception. Also, if you know where an Enemy Capital City is, feel free to go straight for the capital.

Plus you shouldn’t have to use your nuke at all. But there you have it, it may take some time, but when I played this, I felt like I was playing on Chieftain difficulty, I completely dominated the whole game, I could have won either economic or the culture victory, and that does get annoying because they tell you at the beginning of EVERY turn that all you have to do is build <insert wonder here>.

I will say that this may not be the QUICKEST, but I have yet to lose a Deity game using the aforementioned strategy. It's all about culture and gold, and everything else follows.

But really what you’ll be doing is collecting the gold…building buildings and wonders just help the time go by. And once all the wonders are built, I would switch government from Monarchy to Democracy.

It should be noted that you will be challenged by other civilizations, but you should have no problem defending your cities…and while your waiting for your gold, you can always build more defensive units.

Once you’ve reached 20,000 gold, go into wonders and start building the World Bank, and you should easily be able to unlock your achievement.

Choose the Lightning Scenario.
Choose the Aztecs as your Civilization or the Greeks.

To achieve a technological win in the Lightning scenario, one only has to get into the modern age, (24 total techs researched). So there will be no space station launching going on. Aztecs will help you achieve this since they get +3 science per temple they have built. Or the Greeks will help you achieve this as they get more Great People.

You start off with 3 cities with an archer in each.

The best thing to do is to go into the city screen and customize the workers. Your gonna have 1 big city, 1 medium city and 1 small city. All cities should have at least 2 science production. This is how I like to have them set up. Small city = 2 science, 2 food, & 2 production. Medium city = 4 science, 2 food, & 2 production. Large city = 4 science, 2 food, & 4 production.

Now please note that those are really just estimates, but should be close to that. I’m also going to warn right now, that you can find out from the beginning if you have a good chance of winning or not. If your cities are around a lot of land and not a lot or water, quit right away because your not going to win easily…if at all. If you are around a good bit of water then let me warn you when I say that a lot of this can and maybe will fall down to whether you get a certain great person or not.

Once you have built a library and a temple, customize your workers again. Maybe this time give some cities some more science, and for your largest city bump up the production just a bit, while still managing to have science. Pick the quickest science you can research every time UNTIL you see democracy in the list, (if 2 techs take the same time, figure out which one helps towards getting Democracy and research that). Research Democracy then switch to Democracy as soon as you have it researched and then continue researching the shortest tech.

SOME EXTRA TIPS

Once you reach 100 gold and receive a settler, settle him into your largest city that’s surrounded by water. Don’t bother making a new city, it’ll be a waste of time.
After building the library and temple, you HAVE TO BUILD the Courthouse. Doing this will allow you to become a high science producing city. Once you’ve got about 15-17 technologies researched, you should have a courthouse in every city, and all you have to do is put your production on science for each city.
Also, make sure that once you have enough gold, build roads connecting your cities, and use 1 city to build some defensive units Archers or Pikemen and then ship them to other cities. Your gonna be at war with other civs…you can’t stop that unless you manage to get a great person early in the game and you build the great wall, so your gonna have to build some defensive units. If you get lucky enough that they only focus on one city, then make sure that city has an army of Archers, and maybe a back up and you should be good.
DO NOT GIVE TECHNOLOGY AWAY FOR PEACE. I mean seriously? All your asking for is to lose.
TIPS ON HOW TO USE GREAT PEOPLE

When you get Great People, the best thing to do is to us them for their powers right away. If you get a Great Person, don’t settle them take their gifts!

There is only one exception, if you get a great scientist, settle him into your largest city that is surrounded by a lot of water.

If you should get a Great Person that would allow you to complete a wonder immediately, I would definitely recommend that you use that to get the Great Wall built, (meaning you’ll have peace while researching techs so you won’t have to worry about building defense units), or the Colossus of Rhodes, (which will up the amount of science being researched.)

If you get a Great Person that will give you gold, take that gold.

If you get a Great Person that will give +1 population to your cities, take the +1 population.

Know that this achievement is tough, but this scenario is quick. If you get half way and they suggest that you save, don’t even bother, if you lose just retry it again. This scenario is an easy way to get a difficult achievement, and luck of the draw when it comes to Great People is going to make you or break you.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/420/s30.jpgDestroyer of Worlds 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Win all types of victories (Domination, Technology, Cultural, and Economic).

You are able to get this achievement before winning on Deity difficulty. So if you don't mind playing the game a few extra times, play through a game on the easiest mode, Chieftain, and play your heart out. You should be able to get all four wins with out to much difficulty, but still I will give you tips.

At the beginning of the match, bulk up on warriors and try to quickly take over one civilization. It shouldn't be to hard at the beginning to just lay seige on a city with an army or 2 of warriors and to win.
Once you've taken over one civilization, build up your defense in your cities and start trying to populate your cities quickly, along with creating a 2 or 3 more cities, (remember you get a free settler once you reach 100 gold)
Take the time to build a couple of ships to go explore the rest of the world
Once your civilization is growing and well defended, start bulking up on technology and wonders.
It shouldn't be too long before you can outclass any civilization on the board. At this point you can save this map as it is, and then focus on trying to obtain a certain win.

As usual, fully develop your Capital City and put your Civilization on Monarchy (or use English because they start with it). Use your Capital City for this one because it gains a boost from the Palace. A Great Person is needed as well as the Shakespeare Theater and The Magna Carta, (the Theater gives a x2 towards culture output, and Magna Carta gives your courthouse a culture output as well. Both are Wonders.) to gain it.

Build a City that is well surrounded by water, (6+ tiles would be best), and fully develop it (Library and University is needed). Use a Great Personality that boosts Research and put your City on Technology. You should be able to get it somewhere around City Level 25. Or if you done the Achievement below just use the same city, (making sure said city has Market and Bank), and change to Gold Production.

Build a City that is well surrounded by water or desert, (again 6+ tiles would be best) and fully develop it (Market and Bank is needed). Use a Great Personality that boosts Gold and put your City on Gold Production. Building The Internet and The Trade Fair of Troyes, (which are Wonders), will help you get this faster. You should be able to get it somewhere around City Level 25. Or if you done the Achievement above just use the same city (making sure said city has Library and University) and change to Technology Production.

Choose the Americans as your Civilization.
Early on in the game, take your SETTLERS to a large mountainous area (4+ large peaks!) and build your CITY.
Set the WORKERS at this CITY to PRODUCTION.
Keep building everything! BUILDINGS and WONDERS at the same location.
Switch your government to Communism.
As you get to 1980, or so, and your other CITIES have run out of things to build, start building SETTLERS at these CITIES and move them (via ROADS) to your mountain retreat.
By 2000 you should have well over 200 PRODUCTION.

This achievement is one that can't be missed...unless of course you somehow isolate yourself for the whole game, (very doubtful). For this achievement you can either not explore and just work on your city and eventually be contacted by another civilization, or you can go explore and chances are you'll wander into another civilization...either way Achievement Unlocked.

For this achievement, you'll need to learn a technology that will allow you to build a Wonder, or maybe your civilization will start of with a technology that will allow you to build a Wonder. Either way, once you are able to build a wonder, (you'll know because when you go into the city screen Build Wonder will be highlightable), click on Build Wonder, choose a wonder and wait. And eventually, Achievement Unlocked.

This one is pretty simple and you should be able to get it quick. When your first city is settled, manage the workers so that they are only on production tiles and start building warriors. Once one is built you can use it to explore around the city, but not to far ;) Then wait for your third one to be produced. Then you simply get all 3 warriors into one tile, and when one of the warriors are able to move, then simply press (Y) PRESTO, you've got an army.

This is another achievement where you'll need to research a technology or you'll have the technology available to build a building. Once your able to build a building, (from the city menu), choose a building and wait. And a short while later, Achievement Unlocked.

There are 6 Relics to be found in the game: The Ark of Covenant, The Seven Cities of Gold, The Angkor Wat, The Lost City of Atlantis, The Knights Templar, and The School of Confucius.
The best way to find one of these is on the easiest setting, Chieftain, and exploring. Destroying barbarians and finding peaceful settlements, will help as they will either give you clues or uncover a relic on your map. Then all you'll have to do is go to it. ;)

Honestly...you don't have to do anything out of your way to get this achievement...and I don't think you can not get this achievement, but with that said...
When you build your first city, go into the city screen and go to Manage Workers and move a worker from one of the tiles and put it on a science tile, (such as water). When you leave the screen, up should pop the technology screen having you pick a technology to learn. Choose one and wait...a few rounds later and you should have Achievement Unlocked.

This is another simple achievement, but here is how you go about earning it.
Once your first city is settled, go into the city screen and go to Manage Workers, from there go to Custom and move the worker from production to resource. You'll be waiting around a little doing nothing, waiting for you city to get to level 3. Once there you'll be allowed to build a settler, so once again change your workers, this time put them all on your production tiles, and soon you'll have a settler in which you can move to another location and by pressing (Y) you'll build a second city!
Or you can simply explore around and destroy barbarians, and visiting peaceful villages and gain gold. Once you gain 100 gold, you'll be given a settler. Same thing applies, move this settler to your desired location and press (Y).

Working on any of the following achievements will produce this achievement for you: The Universal Brotherhood of Man, Organized Knowledge, The Root of All Evil, Curse of the Drinking Class.
But just in case you need some more help, these tips could help: Build settlers and settle them in a city, also manage as many of your city workers onto food resource as this will help your city grow the fastest.
http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/420/s46.jpgThe Will to Win is Everything 25 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Win 20 battles with one unit.

What you do is first go to play a scenario you do this by: 1. Clicking on single player

2. Clicking on Scenario

Now the one you want is Beta Centauri, difficulty should be higher then Chieftain. King and above is best.
This scenario is based in the future, now because you don't have a time limit in scenario you can take as long as you want.
Pick the German Civilization this is because they have Automatic weapons which makes it quick and easy.
Start the game.
Now when you start off you see that you start off with Modern Military, set them to Defense and wait.
While your waiting i suggest you build the same unit twice just so you can form an army. You find that with all the add ons you get after killing 3 batches of enemy your defense total will go up to about 120 so your easy runnings.
Now all that happens is the barbarians come and attack you and because there Civilization is backward it takes a bout 2-3 seconds to kill them.
It should be noted that after the first kill you should also unlock Napalm in the Morning and after 6 Battles Before all Else, Be Armed.

It seems a Great Person (GP) is more likely to show up after you have researched their corresponding technology.

Following the video below will give you most, if not all, of the GPs (but there's no limit to who shows because all Techs are given in the Beta Centauri scenario). For those pesky few who evade you, here's a quick reference list for you.

Game type : Single Player / New Game
Difficulty : Chieftain
Civilization : French (for culture), or anyone really
Research only the necessary technologies for the GP you're looking for. Once you have the technology, turn your science off for gold and up your culture. (Techs for Temples and Cathedrals won't hurt. If you get a GP you don't need, keep increasing culture until your GP shows.)

Difficulty: King
Civilization: Aztec

Using the Aztec civilization is the easiest way to achieve this achievement. First thing you want to do, is go into your city screen and customize your workers so that you have them all on science production. Then you’ll want to rush a warrior unit. Once you leave the city screen, save your game. And choose to research for Horsemen.

From here use your warrior to determine where the closest city is…it should be only 5-6 turns away at most. Once you’ve discovered the closest city, reload your save and move your warrior there ASAP. Chances are you’ll get there as they produce their warrior and maybe you’ll get lucky enough that they’ll take him exploring and you’ll have a free city. But either way, save before you attack, but then attack and take over this city, if your warriors loss, then just reload the Saved game and redo it. I was able to get mine the first time.

Now you’ll want to save a again, and again go out searching for the rest of the cities. Once you’ve found them, Load up your saved game again, and us your warrior to go exploring…possibly finding gold and technologies for you. Once you’ve got horsemen researched, change both of your cities to PRODUCTION, and start mass producing horsemen. I was able to take over my first city with 1 Horse Army, and an extra Horse unit. Use the time in between horse production, to take a Horse unit and go fight some barbarians. This will allow you to get Veteran status and possibly an elite status, like infiltration, before you go fight your first city.

Main thing to remember is to save BEFORE you attack a city and if you’re successful then save AFTER you take it over. Once take over cities keep mass producing Horse unit and make Armies. My third city I took over with 3 Horse Armies, and my fourth and final city took me 2 rounds with 4 Horse armies to win. I finished in 600AD and only had to restart once…and that was trying to take over the third city, I got completely beat up, so I reloaded and tried again, and ended up winning that time.

Random Notes:

Keep in mind that defensive units are not needed, unless you see enemies coming close to a city, in which case just rush an archer, then go back to making
Wasting turns is the worst thing you can do. So if you think you could have done something a lot quicker just reload from last save point.
Us your best units first when attacking a city, this will give you the best chance of winning, while also allow your other units to have a decent shot at winning if your first unit fails.
Sometimes not joining 3 horsemen into 1 unit will give it 3 attacks instead of 1. This is useful when you need to clear some last units of warriors.
If you get a great person, don’t settle them, use them right away…esp. if they’ll give you gold.
Before you attack later cities…make sure you have all your units with you and ready to fight before you start war. If need be take a few turns to gather up your armies, and if you can bring a spy with you, it’ll only help you out.
If all the capitals aren't on the same island, start a new game, it's alot easier and time effiecient if you don't have to travel over seas.

Follow the guide for Power Never Takes a Back Step, but DON'T change your government. If you want you can use another civilization, such as the English as they start with Monarchy, or any other civilization. Just DON'T and I repeat DON'T change your government and you'll get the achievement.

Start on King

Scenario ---- Beta Centauri Civilization ---- The Greeks

Type of victory: Economic

Once the game has started:

Change your government to Monarchy. Defend with your 1st Modern Infantry. Barbarians will attack you but they will be no matches for your Infantry. Put city on Production. Build the Cathedral & Courthouse. Use a Great Person to build the Magna Carta for you, Build the Bank.

Settle 1 of each Great Person in your City, namely the ones that will increase output of culture and gold. Use another Great Person to complete The Internet.

Change City to Gold.

From here you can continue to build buildings and wonders, but mainly you’ll be just collecting gold, round after round. It should be noted that you will be challenged by other civilizations, but try to give them what they want to keep peace, though do try not to give them a lot of gold.

Also, you can build a few units near the end if it will make you feel more secure, but 8/10 times you won’t need more then just the infantry you started off with.

Once you’ve reached 20,000 gold, go into wonders and start building the World Bank, and you should easily be able to unlock your achievement.

You can also use this method to achieve an economic victory on Diety difficulty and unlock the Achievement Playing the Game.

The fastest way to do this, is to play the Scenario Blitzgame (need English name, it's the Scenario with the Electricity Icon) on Chieftain and focus there on a Technology Win you only need to research 24 Technologies and even less because you get a few Techs for free at the start of the game and if you get 500 Gold. It will ussualy take 15 Minutes per game much faster than regulary. My fastest Game was 8 Minutes.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/420/s22.jpgVi Victa Vis 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Win a Domination Victory on at least King difficulty.

Got this one yesterday using a strange method: I was at the losing end of a race against Rome to get a scientific victory, when the game suddenly pauses and prompts me that "the game will end in 5 rounds, and the most populated civ will get a domination victory in case of a tie". In other words, the game ends around 2100 AD, and population is the tie-breaker here.

I saved my game, and it ended 5 rounds later with a french domination victory, and my english civ was a close second. So I reloaded my last save, overthrown my democracy, restored despotism and then nuked Paris (I'm french and I used to live there, so it was kinda weird). It instantly killed like 70 million people , and I got the win and the achievement.

So if you have trouble taking over the other civs on higher difficulties, just grow your population, protect your cities with the best defensive units (modern infantry), build the manhattan project, wait till you get the "game will end in 5 rounds" screen and then drop the bomb on the biggest city you can find.

I'm playing Beta Centauri on Deity Difficulty, and it's very easy to win for an Economic Victory (and looks easy for a Cultural one too). Just place your starting city around some mountains to get a high construction, and build everything. Start with the guys with guns and get an army going - they defend against pretty much everything. Any civ seems to be OK, as you spend most of the time defending. As great people come, it could offer the chance to take over a city, but it's possible to win with one or two.

i found out that the easiest way to win in the highest difficulties is playing money rules the world ( at least , direct translated from german to english , i dont know the exact scenario name ) and take a rush civ like zulu , or germans . buy buy buy buy and rush your first enemy down ( you have to be very unlucky and slow if he set up a archerarmy before you arrve with your first army unit ) . immediatly tech on riders , even if you are zulu . after you defeated your first enemy , you will gain approx 800 gold , because he was to dumb to spend it . if your fast u can kill your next opponent even without catapult , if not , doesnt matter , just surround him , keep one city on technology , buy new buildings or even wonders , and one city , the closest to the next enemy , to pump out units . as soon as you have catapults the next one should be finished , because u sieged him out of every ressources and he wont spent enough money to overcome you .

if you need the victory condition achievements on the highest difficulty than this is a good strategy , with every civ .

1 hint is letting 3 riders alone , do not formate them , and strafe around enemy territory again and again . they will settle soon , and a new city has no defense , an unsettled settler as well :)

this is the same stategie i used for the 1000 AD achievement , on king difficulty . dont hesitate to restart if your starting position , or first strike luck isnt good . i achieved my win at 100 AD ;)

edit : playing the lowest difficulty is time wasting i think , because u have to play the higher ones again for all the achievements , so you can do those one with the victory ones and civ based ones again .

TIP: That We May Live in Peace " Win the game by year 1000 AD on King difficulty or higher"

This achievement is really easy to get. You need to rush for a Domination Victory before the year 1000 AC.

I started with the Aztec civilization on normal setting, kingdom difficulty (I unlocked every achievement on normal singelplayer).
First thing you need to do is SAVE the game.
(Discover the map with warriors and then reload to know where everyone is settled)
When you reload set your people on full science with customize settings. (So no population growth or production) And set your research on horseman.
Meanwhile,
Rush your first warrior unit with the 20 gold which you’ll get in the start. (which is only possible with the Aztec.)
If you got an enemy near, walk to it and if you are lucky you can take his city without battling it. Otherwise use a hill to beat his first set of warriors. Sometimes there isn’t any warrior in the village because the civilization is discovering the area with his first warrior.

When you have discovered horsemen, set all your people on production and start rushing horsemen units. Also with the cities you have unlocked after defeating them use their production too rush for new units.

Go to the nearest city and try to break it. If you find some uncivilized cities on your way , look what the power-up is when you defeat it. If itīs not interesting it’s a waste of turns. (maybe reload if it’s nothing useful and make your way to the city first and come back later when you have more turns to waste)

If your enemies aren’t all on the same island, first control the hole island and then set your horsemen to the next island. When you are too slow, stop boosting the horseman and put everything on full science for catapults. With allot amount of cities you will have complete the science, way before they made some strong defensive units.

Random notes:
> keep in mind that defensive units arenīt needed just keep on rushing and make sure you know how your map looks like.
>Wasting turns is the worst thing you can do. So if things can go quicker do so.
>Cities don’t need to grow because you will keep unlocking new one fast.
>Sometimes not joining 3 horsemen into 1 unit will give it 3 attacks instead of 1. This is useful when you need to clear some last units of warriors.
>It might be easy to save after some perfect moves

For me this worked, I won the game 700BC.
Good luck,

i was about to edit my post... It actually works, you just have to wait a couple of turns after the abduction before the game registers the fact that you unlocked the person. Actually, abducting great persons is a great way to get a quick cultural victory. I don't know if settling/using makes a difference, though. I settled marie curie, and the achievement unlocked after my next turn.

ShaunMichael80,

I didn't like doing the Lightening Round method either.. so I tweaked the strategy posted in the video by TheMystic. I completed each civilization in about 6-7 minutes average - while also working towards getting my last famous person *sigh*.

Scenario: Beta Centauri: Chieftan: Civilization of your choice
Found a city and build a temple. Manage your workers to gold. Go for an economic victory.
Continue creating culture and cash buildings: market, palace, courthouse, and build magna carta, hanging gardens, internet afterwards.
You only need one city and you don't need to work on defense as no one bothers you. Just watch the turns fly by, you gain cash and famous people.
As I said I completed this in 6-9 minutes.

Hope this helps.

The key is to take other peoples guides and adapt them into your own game. We all have unique styles and these people have been good enough to post their experiences for us to adapt and use as pointers (not guaranteed formulas for everyone) so that we can refer to.

The problem there is that, for the Deity victories, he's just got one strategy submitted by someone who barely eked out a Domination victory by luck. Then, at the bottom, he adds "just apply this for the other victory styles".

Not sure how much you've played on Deity, but a LOT more preparation seems to be necessary for this. I can't dominate all civs but one and then say "ok, now lets get that Tech victory".

Okay, granted, my skills are weak, but I'm convinced there's an easier way to get each victory style on deity, to include unique civ selection, game/scenario selection, and overall strategy. This guide, as it is right now, just makes me feel dumb, because it's like it's saying "dude, i've helped you all I can, if you can't get it from here, you must suck".

And I know I'm not that dumb, because I've currently got more points in the game than the guy writing the guide.

Not flaming, just supporting others in the opinion that there could be quite a bit more to the guide.

Yep thats what ive been doing..works like a charm...

This guide sucks...anyone who reads it...reconsider getting this game based on it, he has no clue on how to get 1000 on this game.

Well, as it's said, the guide isn't perfect, but the important thing is that it helps. We can't consider an strategy game to be always the same, the AI will make other moves so there isn't a 100% perfect guide.
I started the game again and taking some tips from the guide, I managed to win tech on deity, i just changed the civ that he recommends to Greece, and worked fine (although I have to say that i tried with the civs that he recommends and i always lost at 23 of tech xD)
We can't expect a guide like saying "here, under the table, it is the secret weapon get it and achievement unlocked ^^" because the AI doesn't do the same things always, and the starting points are different.

Seriously, not every game is gonna have an exact step-by-step guide "1:click this, 2:move here, 3:you win." The posts here have been great, aside from random dumb questions and comments. I took most of black mamba's ideas, but never went the horsemen route(same attack as legion i believe), just went straight for catapults, then later knights for the last civ my catapults weren't near. I was able to finish in 450AD, but would have been about 3 turns sooner if the American capitol wasn't on a different island, so I had to make a galley and load it up real fast.

A trick i noticed too is like when i save right before an attack(my attack of 6 against defense of 5), probaly 10 times the outcome would be the same of me losing. But if you attack from a different angle(not necessarily from a hill) the outcome changes, and you win, very weird. And that +50%veteran bonus is a must for a catapult army against a city archer army, of course a general helps a bunch too.

I tried a game as the Arabs:knowledge of catapults, +1 horsemen/knight attack, and with their fundamentalism being a HUGE bonus(+3 attack for a warrior army, took down almost 2 full civs with my opening warrior armies). But nevertheless the fact that you have to heal inbetween almost every battle was a hassle, so I just had to go with the Aztecs.

First of all, I want to say that Iíve read all of the posts here, and I feel as if you guys havenít read mineÖI said that this guide will see conclusion by this weekend. I know the guide isnít 100%, but at the time of me making it, I didnít have the game.

But now I do, and Iíve played it and within 5 hours of gaming, I had all the deity achievements, and Iíll be tweaking the guide so that everyone else can get the achievements easy as pie also.

The hardest achievement for me to get was the Technology achievement on Deity. But I did use the scenario Lightning Round, but definitely will need some tweaking. I know this.

I donít mind constructive criticism, but for you to post that I have no idea how to play the game and blah blah blah is in truth, nothing but mean spirited, and Iíll keep it at that

But whatever, Iím really just posting to let you guys know that the guide is gonna be tweaked and when it is, it should be easier for you guys to go through the game. And honestly if you read the guide you will see that not all the deity achievements point to the domination achievementÖI fixed that on Thursday I believe.

And for you guys who say this is a hard 1000, I would have you rethink that, Iíve put in about 6 hours of gaming into the game and need 11 achievementsÖ7 of those I believe are winning with individual civs.

Oh and one more thing, if this is your first time playing a civilization game, and for some of you it does seem that way, you probably shouldnít have jumped into Deity feet first.

I have a strategy to get the economic, culture, and domination on deity as well (domination is a bit harder).

I did the beta centauri, let barbarians attack my city constantly to get upgraded modern infantry while I built things for culture like temples and such. Once I got enough money I set up another city of course and started getting culture there as well. Then I used great thinkers and my large culture to recieve other cities. From there it was a breeze as I set all cities to gold production and I could either get an economic or culture. I loaded it up and got domination by making massive armies but it took forever as some cities had defense of 144 so I used naval units for support and lots of spies. Hopefully this works out for someone because I was a bit general about this description, just try the mode and see what happens! :) (For tech I just used lightning round with China and it was easy)

I'm on the other side of the argument here I'm afraid, these tips were more than enough for me to unlock achievements. Also, I'm a first time civ player + Brand new to strategy. So, stop complaining, he has said he's working on it to make it better even further.

And were do you suppose I was getting my tips before I wrote the guide? Look, I understand that your having a tough time at it, but what's there was good enough for me and probably for others also, though I will give you that the domination one was pretty messed up. But that was the very first guide to come out. And the guy that made it helped a guy get 1000 on the game...and he happened to be the first who got it.

And also, if you have a problem with the guide, how about you offer some suggestions to help out...that would probably be alot more useful then the "this guide sucks" and the other crap that you've posted here. Actually don't make suggestions, you can't even figure out how to make a city to size 20, I'll finish this on my own and it'll be good enough.

Constructive criticism is one thing, but bashing on the author is a bit much, guys. He's not getting paid to write this guide ya know, and as such you have no real right to attack him.

It was good enough for me to get most of the achievements. Just need 4 more unique people (I''ve done the video method about 40 times, still need the same 4.) and a win by 1000AD and I'll have 1000G.

Meanwhile,
Rush your first warrior unit with the 20 gold which youíll get in the start. (which is only possible with the Aztec.)
If you got an enemy near, walk to it and if you are lucky you can take his city without battling it. Otherwise use a hill to beat his first set of warriors. Sometimes there isnít any warrior in the village because the civilization is discovering the area with his first warrior.

If itīs not interesting itís a waste of turns. (maybe reload if itís nothing useful and make your way to the city first and come back later when you have more turns to waste)

If your enemies arenít all on the same island, first control the hole island and then set your horsemen to the next island.

>Cities donít need to grow because you will keep unlocking new one fast.
>Sometimes not joining 3 horsemen into 1 unit will give it 3 attacks instead of 1. This is useful when you need to clear some last units of warriors.
>It might be easy to save after some perfect moves

For me this worked, I won the game 700BC.
Good luck,
Mathijs

This worked great for me. I had to adjust my strategy a little at the end as the Japanese dug in with his city and I had to use waves and waves of Horsemen to bring him down, but the other civ's I destroyed very quickly. Won the game in 500AD

as far as using lighting round for beating the game as every civilization just do it on chieftain, build libraries first in your 3 cities and focus on science after that, you can build a 4th city with the settler they give you for a reaching a certain economic level but it isn't required, also do the techs that get you democracy first and then switch to it and it should be a no contest getting 24 techs first.

Now for doing that on deity is much more difficult, using the Aztecs seems like the best idea, make sure you start of with archers, if they don't give you the tech for archers off the bat just restart because those warriors won't be able to defend you. go for temples and libraries right from the start and then just start pumping out archers to make archer armies and of course go for democracy after you have the techs for library and temple, give everyone what they want to stay at peace with them unless they are a civ beating you out in the tech race and they want tech from you, try to buy tech's from other civs and hope for the best and becareful about great people, if you don't want to give the enemy the advantage of one you have consume it, if you try having them settle in your city they will just demend them over everything else for peace. Took me 3 or 4 tries to finally get it so luck is a big factor for this stategy. also don't forget you can ask for peace at anytime though the diplomacy bar, when i finally won i asked the mongels for peace when they were at my door step and they agreed without me having to give them anything.

This didn't work for me at all. Seems like even if I get to the nearest city in the first few turns they've already got a archer army waiting for me, which always pulverize anything I have.
Some nations start with a strong defense just bad luck
I didnt tryed it over and over its just how it worked for me.

EXACTLY!!! There were really only a couple tough ach, and for me the win by 1000AD took more tries than the domination on deity, but I'm sure it's not the same for everybody. I was stuck with only one great person(Plato) for the 1000pts. I kept trying the video's way, but to no avail.

The method I ended up using did take some more time, but I played as Greeks on chieftain in beta centauri(just like the video). Instead of just sitting there, I took over the whole map minus the very last city of Egypt and completely surrounded them with naval/infantry units to prevent expansion or any movement whatsoever. At this time I think I had like 9-10 cities, all maxed out in culture, pulling in a whopping 1000+ culture a turn. Pretty much I just sat there and kept raking in the great people until eventually Plato popped in, ach unlocked.

To anybody who isn't aware you can track your science/gold/culture rates by pulling RightTrigger. For me, the posts for this game very rather helpful, and this was not a hard game at all. Maybe a week to get 'em all. So for the guide and helpful hints, thanks everybody. For the crybabies maybe get an easier game....I think CSI had a POINT to POINT guide to follow

To clarify, iskoot.

Your guide was honestly VERY helpful for a good number of achievements. The strategy for getting the civ victories quickly in lightning round is what put me over 100k gamerscore. For that, I thank you.

My main frustration was for the Deity wins. Firstly, your Tech strategy DID work for me after about a half dozen tries, thank you. The others (as of the time I made my last post) weren't much help.

Honestly, I did develop my own strategies, and that's how I got most of my achievements, to include an Economic victory on Deity. I think I was just getting frustrated because I had lost a few times for each of the Cultural and Domination victories I attempted on Deity (2-4 hour games) and was just getting a little flustered. I was running out of strategies, needed some help, and wasn't finding any.

So I hope you aren't offended, because that wasn't my intention. I really do appreciate the effort you've put into making the guide.

No...it's fine, I do agree that the Deity Domination needed reworked, but at the time, that was the only strategy cooked up by anyone, and I didn't have the game to come up with my own. And I don't know when you looked but it was probably before I updated it. But I stopped pointing all Diety achievements to that one, (I even said on it that it was just temporary until I found better strategies), on the previous Thursday...but that was probably to late for you.

But while I do admit that some of the guide needed redone, I just didn't feel I needed shaunmichael's abusive response. And that's the only one I was trying to rebuke.

So no harm done.

OK guys I have been reading this and as a veteran Civ player I am surprised no one brought up the settler farm strategy, which I used to get all the Deity Achievements one by one in a row.

*Note for the unmotivated and douchebagginly impatient*: this strat will take a good 2 hours, or more? Depending on how diabolic you are with your approach. Don't bother criticizing this because its just one man's opinion as being the easiest.

First thing first:

Scenario: Eternal Kombat
With Eternal Kombat everyone is at war with everyone, this instantly makes it good for starting for one reason, EVERYONE IS AT WAR WITH EVERYONE. You won't have to worry about getting ganged up on. If your lucky a empire might even get eliminated early on in the game by another AI :woop:

Difficulty: Deity

Pick any empire you wish, for this strat Rome is the best start because they have one thing necessary for this to take less time, Republic Government, which allows the creation of a setteler with only 1 population loss. Good thing because the farm, if done right, won't go past 3 population, this will give you the least down time between creating another setteler at the farm.

Now build your first city (Capital), doesn't matter where. imediately build one warrior and set him to guard your city.

Start building your first setteler.

After the first setteler is built continue building warriors in your Capital.

With your new setteler try to build a new city in a area with decent Production and Food footage. General rule for best results, for every 2 Food (Apples) have 1 Production (Hammer).

After the farm city is built create a warrior and set him to guard it.

What to do next:
*If you have the Rome civilization skip to the next Topic otherwise continue.*

First thing your going to want to do is switch to a Republic Government for the reason above. This will take a good half hour worth of turns, or less if you can do before you think. Try to look at the research path so it takes the least turns.

Once researched the almost too easy stuff begins to happen.

Farming:
Your capital should have a army of warriors, just defend the Capital and keep on creating the best defensive units you can on it.

The farm will only do one thing, create settelers, why?
Well in civ you can move settelers to other cities to raise population, if you were to continue moveing settelers to one city, you can raise its population to 31 in no time. More population, more people to gather resources or help move along production.

The rest I leave to you. I usually switch my capital to gold production after I have researched Bronze Working. And protect the shit out of my cities with Archers. With a 31 City on say a shoreline. You have the potential to gain 100+ Gold or 100+ Science per turn. Now remember use that gold thats going to get shoveled in to building Buildings (in the "level" 31 Capital) that raise Gold and Science for the city. Eventually you can raise your buttload of incoming Gold/Science to a shitload.

P.S. I keep the Capital on Gold production until I make 5k, then switch to Science, I can usually consistantly research all techs at 2-5 turns even Atomic Theory lol.

Then To dominate I usually send 6 Bomber Wings to attack one after another or until they can't attack a city anymore then send 1 Tank Army in to complete the capture.

Tw1st3d Fate

Oh I forgot, by the time you take out the last AI opponent you should save and just wait it out. and save when you have enough "skill" in each category. Complete something, UN? then reload and complete something else.

.... and I didn't have the game to come up with my own.

Which kind of begs the question, why are you writing guides for games you haven't even played?

Why are you getting upset at people who are irritated by your unfinished guide, when you're not supposed to submit unfinished guides?

I'm confused.

The current version looks a lot better than the version on the Retail Achievement list, but the one that's up there now should never have been up there. You have to cut people some slack when they come to this site to find quality achievement guides (This site's "bread and butter" if you will) and they find what you've got up there to be underwhelming.

I've read about people getting Great People even though they haven't gotten said tech. So as of right now I don't see a reason to add it. Plus like you said, it is in the civilopedia.

I didn't like doing the Lightening Round method either.. so I tweaked the strategy posted in the video by TheMystic. I completed each civilization in about 6-7 minutes average - while also working towards getting my last famous person *sigh*.

You only need one city and you don't need to work on defense as no one bothers you. Just watch the turns fly by, you gain cash and famous people.
As I said I completed this in 6-9 minutes.

Hope this helps.

No and here's why. On most scenarios you start the game very close to 1000AD, @1000AD, or after 1000AD. And the scenerios that start early enough and just playing the regular game, you can win an economic victory by 1000AD no matter how good you are.

Why it's so easy on beta centauri is that you don't have to do ANY science research so you can go straight to producing gold, where as any other way you'd have to juggle between science and gold production and blah blah blah...so no you can't.

Just some suggestions for updating the "Will to Win" strat - and I say this only in the vein of the numerous discussions I've lurked since I signed up here where everyone said guides should basically state everything you need to know. Two things I'd add to the strat -

1. You should build your city near the Barbarians. Not right next door (it's the shortest game ev-ah for your settlers if you do!), but a tile between you and they're giving you the evil-eye.

2. Don't do this on Chieftain. Apparently, all you get is the evil-eye and plenty of time to build a bajillion buildings, the Manhattan Project and the Internets. They just give you the evil-eye and nothing more.

We were just looking for a quick with-a-purpose scenario and saw the neatly numbered strat and thought, "hey, this sounds good." I don't mind adjusting when something's not working quite right, but it would have been nice to know those two things upfront.

Right for the easiest Domination wins EVER do the following:

Scenario: Blitzkrieg

Germans (as all new units are automatically Veterans and only then need 3 victories to become Elite).

The technologies you should research are the following IN THIS ORDER EXACTLY.

Bronze Working -> Alphabet -> Writing -> Mathematics -> Then whatever you want.

Start by combining all your Warriors into an army and storming the nearest city. Research Bronze working asap and get an army of archers in each city. Don't worry about your Warriors just yet. Just concentrate on the archers so you can't lose a city. Now keep going until you get Mathematics. No other Civ will get this before you, even on Deity. Mathematics brings Catapults. Build Catapults like crazy and make them armies and storm the other cities the Civs have. A catapult is ridiculously powerful that early on. An army has an attack of 18 when Veteran, as strong as an entire Archer Army. Just ensure you have at least 3 Catapult armies for each capital as an Archer Army has a defence of 18. The other Civs don't get Maths for AGES so you have a silly upper hand right near the start. If you're worried about the Catapult defense, just make a spare 3 archers for an army to follow them around in defence.

You're so powerful with Catapults it's ridiculous. Just ensure the upgrade for 3 victories help city attack (like Blitz for example).

What's also great is that you can leave a Capital still standing and get the other wins really easily.

i was about to edit my post...

I have tried this a number of times to get Plato out of a Roman city to complete my "Famous People" and it doesn't work. I've settled, used and just had him sitting in my city and the achievement doesn't unlock. I've conquered the city and kidnapped him, which doesn't make a difference. As far as I'm concerned, all Famous People must be unlocked through them joining your civ through culture or reaching goals, kidnapping doesn't work.

I think that's supposed to be cathedral and Market. greeks already start with a courthouse, and you need the market for the bank.

For Here's Looking at You Kid, I was having all kinds of trouble with the method from the video in this guide (starting with 6 people remaining, 4 games of farming culture until the game ended automatically only netted me two of them).

All of the ones I was missing (Cheops, Nebuchadnezzar, Aesop, Plato) seemed to be from further back in history than the majority of the people I had, so I started a standard/no-scenario campaign on with Arabs (start with religion), researched ceremonial burial, and then switched to gold as opposed to science to sort of lock them into the Ancient Age for the rest of the game. Switched the government to despotism, built a temple and cathedral, and farmed culture.

In one game, I got 3 out of the 4 I was missing, and I got my final great person on a second game.

To a degree, yeah, it seems like the great people you receive are random. But era seems to make a big difference. If you're missing more modern ones, Beta Centauri's the way to go. If you're missing Imhotep and David and Sophocles, might want to go luddite and avoid technological advancement.

I just tried the "Absolute Power is Kind of Neat" strategy in the guide as the English. IE:
Follow the guide for Power Never Takes a Back Step, but DON'T change your government. If you want you can use another civilization, such as the English as they start with Monarchy, or any other civilization. Just DON'T and I repeat DON'T change your government and you'll get the achievement.

I believe this doesn't work. Apparently the game only recognizes Despotism as the victory condition, and as a result the English will not be able to win this achievement due to them starting out as Monarchy.

Play a normal Chieftain-difficulty game as the Americans, settle a city in an area with large mountains (doesn't have to be your capital, as any city will do), have that city build iron mines/workshops/factories, set that city's citizens to Production (or customize them so that nobody is working on anything but production once the city is big enough), and finally switch to Communism. I managed to squeeze out 214 production in my mountain city by 1900 CE. If you need just a few more production points, remember that gold, science, and food are worthless (for this achievement) once you have a big enough city, so customize your workers so that they are working in the city to get the +1 production.

I just have one tip didn't see it anywhere on here when I was trying to get the "That We May Live in Peace" achievement, where you win before 1000Ad I was having problems getting to last dude because he was so far away. Some advice that will make this even easier is build new cities closer and closer to your last capital you have to take over and don't even bother with the farther cities just make buildings or something that will make more gold or science. You'll be able to pump out enough horse units and get them there alot faster, not giving them a alot of time to build up their defensive units. That was the only method that seem to work for me. If this was posted somewhere else my apologies.

I seem to have a problem getting the "Absolute Power Is Kind Of Neat" achievement, I started the game on
Civilization - English
Scenario - Beta Centauri
Difficulty - King

I played through it and won without changing goverment, any ideas to what has happened?

EDIT: Managed to get it using Aztecs on lightning round and winning a technology victory on King.

Just a quick post to say that last night I was aiming for the That We May Live in Peace, win by 1000 AD. Naturally I was Aztecs. However when I finished the game I'd also unlocked Power Never Takes a Back Step, which is to win with only 1 city, despite conquering all of the capitals by 800AD. So it must mean that you cannot build (and maybe culture flip) a city. It would also have unlocked Absolute Power is Kind of Neat naturally.

On the other side, I stole the Great Person David from the Aztecs in the 2nd game (I was Egyptian) and David has NOT appeared on my Great Persons wall. So you have to make them appear yourself.
Missing 3 Great People now. :(

In the Civopedia for great people, each one has a relevent tech. Like Agamemmnon has Iron Working.

Davids is Monarchy... so does that mean I need to research Monarchy before He'll appear? Logically speaking then, my best shot is with the English I take it?

And what are people recomendations for which civs to use for each victory on Deity?
I'm thinking:

Domination: Aztecs/Roman
Technological: Aztecs/Greek
Cultural: French
Economic: Spanish

Ive tried as the greeks twice and the aztecs twice even the chinese and the indians still either everyone sees me as a threat for getting too many achievements early on and declares war on me taking each of my cities one by one or the chinese, japs, or english get the 24 techs before i can. Always check the status of other civilizations by hitting the diplomacy button. This allows you to see if you have a chance at all (and hence not waste your time). Also, when first starting the game always buy any technology you can from other civilizations. Saving the 5-8 turns researching a basic technology can give you the win.

Also, you can always consider not playing the lightning round and just winning a traditional technological victory.

I managed to knock out 3 of the Deity acheivements last night using the example of the Greeks and two cities (not more than 2!) that was given for the Economic victory. I got the economic victory, reloaded, and 5 turns later had the cultural victory. Then I started cranking out the Bombers and had the domination victory a while later.

I just need 1000AD and Technology and I'm set.

Frankly, your guide helped me to get all of the scenario/difficulty acheivements in one day. Thank you for making it. By using the Lightning Round method, with the Aztecs, on Deity, I unlocked 5 seperate acheivements. I was going for a Tech victory.

For those spending time bashing the OP for trying to help you: Shame on you. Due to AI and general computer cheatingness (and you know damn well it does), not every strategy is going to work every time. It took me 4 tries to get the Aztec/Tech victory. Try again, it does work.

Something to help folks having problems: Having a high culture will make everything grow faster. You get more Great People, better reaction from your neighbors, everything. If your advisor is stating that you are anything less than CIVILIZED, then you will fail.

Settle 1 of each Great Person in your City, namely the ones that will increase output of culture and gold. Use another Great Person to complete The Internet.

Change City to Gold.

From here you can continue to build buildings and wonders, but mainly youíll be just collecting gold, round after round. It should be noted that you will be challenged by other civilizations, but try to give them what they want to keep peace, though do try not to give them a lot of gold.

Also, you can build a few units near the end if it will make you feel more secure, but 8/10 times you wonít need more then just the infantry you started off with.

Once youíve reached 20,000 gold, go into wonders and start building the World Bank, and you should easily be able to unlock your achievement.

You can also use this method to achieve an economic victory on Diety difficulty and unlock the Achievement Playing the Game.

Want to give a Special Thanks to Gevexx, VAS Black Mamba, Asgorath, Roaming Dragon, pts100, TheMystic and tastefulmrship for allowing me to use their tips.

Munsie

There's two achievements that can be obtained much easier..

Firstly, "Here's looking at you, kid". Start by watching the video in the main guide for methods of generating culture quickly, and watch the end of the video to find out which people you are missing, write down their names. If you open your Civlopedia and navigate to famous people, you can find information about all of them. Find the folks you're missing and read more about them, it tells you exactly what structures or research you need in order to get them. Build those structures/research those fields then stop producing and researching, focus solely on culture like in the video. They'll show up a lot sooner than they would on beta.

Secondly, "Power never takes a back step", for winning with only one city. The achievement guide recommends that this achievement be got with a cultural victory, however I unlocked this while winning a DOMINATION victory. At the end of the game I had 10+ cities under my control. The achievement description appears to be slightly incorrect as it should say 'win without settling a second city'. As long as you use the settlers (the ones for getting 100 gold) to increase the population size of your main city, and don't produce additional settlers, the achievement should still pop. I have no way to confirm, but it certainly worked for me, so it's worth a try.

iskoot,

You made a great guide. I went through the trouble to rewrite the list of Great People. I invite you to look over it and consider using it in your guide over the current list. I also decided to make a separate thread, because I thought this new write-up was worthy.

As you can see, I have them in order so players can know where they're located on the paintings, even though the video was smart enough to include them, too. Of course, if you decide to use this list, don't leave out the video. That video is great.

It's at your discretion, so if you decide not to bother, no harm.

Unlock all famous persons.

It seems a Great Person (GP) is more likely to show up after you have researched their corresponding technology.

Following the video in the guide will give you most, if not all, of the GPs (but there's no limit to who shows because all Techs are given in the Beta Centauri scenario).

These are in order as you scroll to the right to each image/silhouette.

afaic the trophy room shows the sculptures of the leaders you've beaten throught your games.
for example in my case there is Mao shown in the trophy room and I'm yet to finish the game playing the Chineese.

the only thing that shows with which leader you've beaten the game at least twice are the little icons right beneath each sculpture that shows what kind of vitory you achieved.

I see no point in connecting scluptures in trophy room with the Difficulties Mastered achievement.

I've found a better way to get all of the nation victories fast while also working for the great person achievement.

Instead of playing lightning round/chieftain/tech (as the guide suggests), try this:

Beta Centauri/Chieftain/Economic

-Immediately change culture to monarch

-Customize workers for production

-Build (in this order) Temple, Cathedral, Courthouse Factory, Magna Carta, Hanging Gardens Market, Bank, Internet (this increases production, population, money and culture... you will get 4-5 great people per round)

-Switch workers to gold

-Sit back and you'll crank through the years quickly while racking up gold

-Once the world bank wonder is avaialble, switch workers back to production and build world bank

-You'll get a win in less than 10 min and will unlock a ton of great people

-Works for ALL cultures

-No need to build defenses... no one will attack you

This requires almost no attention to the game... rack up the Gamerscore while you do something else!

zimzvm

this method has additional advantage - GPs shows very often in th game. so maybe using this method one doesn't end up with all victories and still lacking couple persons...

Whoa, awesome guide, specially for Deity.

I was following the cultural victory with the greeks in Beta Centauri, but ended up having more money. Saved, won economically, loaded and went for cultural. Then, went for Domination (with a later save).

You can't do technological that way, but heh, very very useful.

Also, I remember when I lost my space race against ghandi (!!!!). I launched my space station first, but his was faster :(

By the way, Beta Centauri ENDS eventually. Careful if you are stretching your luck too much! (I think it ends around 2600)

EDIT 2: Just did the win before 1000AD. I actually won in 1800BC. Mongolian rush ftw! It took me about 4 tries to get the right map, but once all being in the same continent, it was just rushing kensings and building roads.

Same as with owning a city in war, you can keep those and still unlock the 1 city achievement.

Actually, not really, at least not with the mongols and the captured barbarian cities.

Read the description for the scenario Apocalypse: "the only path to victory in this scenario plows right into your enemies' capitals, meaning players can only win through a Domination Victory".

I read it...ops..
I complete whole Deity mode thanks for this guide!! I'll check for GP achievement!

bye

The Diety difficulty ones I found hard. I had everything but one great person(for the cultural victory) and then the Romans captured a city with some great people in it so I had to fight them. Then for some reason they joined back without a bullet fired :) Great Guide!

Finally i can put this game away! Sooo nice. Thanks for a great guide. Some glitched achievements (or actually me playing the game on two different consoles) made the game a bit harder 1000. But, it's all in the past now! :drunk

The guide is good, but you said it should take 5-6 rounds max to find another civilization for the That We May Live In Peace cheevo. But it takes 15-20 rounds ATLEAST for me to find another civ. Seriously, :wtf

Just wanted to thank you for putting together this guide... I was going for the Domination on deity, and instead got Cultural and Economic from the same game (saving in between)... so still need the domination, but I'm sure I;ll get it with this helpfull guide! THANKS!

Followed your guide for the Culture win on Deity as my first play through. Worked perfect. I actually ended up with well over 20,000 gold, so I save with one turn remaining on my UN wonder. Got the culture achievements, loaded up that save, switched to the World Bank wonder, and unlocked all of the economic achievements. Excellent. Two more Deity play throughs to go...

doing domination victory on diety is mega hard, they automatically build archer armies straight away and until you get catapults you aint gonna kill them theres no quick or easy way to get that achievement

This guide got me 1000G in the game. I thank you, however the That We May Live In Peace is easier done with the Blitzkrieg scenerio and Arab civilization, don't research Mathematics as you get that free and just attack with alot of catapult armies. Less time to complete that way. Thanks again :)

Great guide, Domination, Cultural and Economic victories on deity where a walk in the park using the guide, but the technology victory is killing me. Keep trying and failing.

I read in a few other places to try using the Japanese so I'm going to give that a shot.

Good guide for the most part. I am still having trouble with the Cultural Victory on Deity. Went thru the game and got enough Wonders and Great People and maxed out on culture but couldn't build the United Nations. It wasn't available to build. Maybe it was because I just hit 20k gold. I still am not sure. Maybe its my game and I did something wrong.

Still this is a great guide that has helped me through other tough games too. Thanks

Great guide! I never would have been able to get the Deity wins without it.

One tip I found. I used a combination of the guide for Such Joy Ambition Finds, and Spanish Assault's alternate method to get most of my Deity wins. Once I had built up my defenses enough, I started to go on the attack and took the main city from one of the other groups. They made a treaty for peace and four of their cities joined me. After that, it was just a waiting game to win. About 15 turns away I made a save and after the Domination win, I reloaded that save 2 more times to get the Cultural and Economic Deity wins. I did this and unlocked about 400 gamerscore in less than 30 minutes, not including the 3 hours to get the save to that point.

Getting frustrated that my achievement won't pop for getting a win with every country. I've played/won a few times with certain countries and they keep disappearing from my hall of fame.

Gonna have to do the recommended thing and play with all the missing countries in the same game session!!! Hope it works.
