I was a real UT2004 fan and was eagerly awaiting this new release.

When it came out on the PC, everyone said it sucked. It got bad reviews, people said don't bother, etc.

So, this 360 version comes out and I'm seeing the opposite. This site gave it a good review and I'm seeing people say how much fun it is. But at the same time, people are saying its the same as the PC version.

So what gives? Is it good or not? And why did everyone bash the PC version?

There's my view. ;)

I just plain enjoyed it. The campaign is extremely fun with a friend, especially on Insane. The online isn't great, to be honest. I'd rather just play bot matches with friends. But that makes up for a small online community, for sure.

many people like this version because there are exclusive maps and you can use a controller instead of a mouse and keys

I actually prefer my mouse/keyboard over a controler for this type of game. :)
But the hassle of installing and configuring on pc's is just to much for me. When I want to play I just throw in the disc and it boots. no (or minimal) config needed ;)

We like this version because it has achievements, of course http://www.ledslingers.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif

Seriously though, this is my first experience with a UT title and I'm loving it.

I have played Unreal on the PC since UT99. I have loved everyone of them. I dont understand the backlash on the PC version of UT3. Its like, identical to all of the other UT's. Its immense and probably the only shooter of its kind on 360!

I think you may be on to something there haha :)

I have always liked them as well and was sooo excited a new one was coming out, until I heard everyone bashing it so I never got it.

I think I'll prolly rent this at the least, and just see what I think.

As many others, I've played UT from UT99 upwards. ut2003 was a big jump in graphics AND gameplay, nevertheless stayed UT for real. ut2004 brought us vehicles, new playmodes. graphics seemed like they have not changed to ut03. now, ut3... well, the first screenshots with malcolm and the tank were pretty nice. now, playing it for a while my view is like this: UT3 combines great parts of UT99 and UT2004 and adds the superb graphics of the unreal engine 3. missing new features, play modes and so on leaves a bad trace, but, to be honest, that's what makes me thinking back to the old titles. but I have to say that I only played UT2k3 and UT2k4 as cesnored versions, now playing the NTSC version of UT3 brings me back the gore that I missed since UT99... retrofeeling.

Rented this out today as i already have it on ps3 and pc and i was amazed how much better it seemed to look than the ps3 alot clearer ps3 1 semes kinda washed out or something , traded in the ps3 1 and got 360 1 instead. love the game

its all about the 360 controller and achievements
of course the bonus maps are good but dont even come close to making up for the no-mod crap that microsoft is "all about"

honestly, once i get 800+ gscore im just gunna sell it for like 25 bucks

you can get every UT game ever released (including 3) for 40$ for PC through steam.
