View Full Version : Completion and Gamerscore

Myth
08-08-2008, 11:27 PM
I'm not really bothered about having nearly 15k of gamerscore. But the thing that really gets at me, is the fact that i have some games with only 200 gamerscore on and i haven't completed them.

I don't understand why, but when i look at my games i just think it looks 'ugly'. I'd love to have completed all the games i've played.

Im not about to go out and buy all the easy 1k gamerscore games. But the games like Dead Rising (Which i don't really like) and FM 2007 (Which broke within a week of me purchasing) are annoying me.

Does anyone else feel this way?

If so, what have you done about it?

Alot of people do, i personally dont care about completion, if i play a game and i dont like it or get bored i will leave it.

I have the same concern about completion, but I have to weigh it against getting bored with the system because I'm not playing anything new for a while while I finish them up. Try making a bit of progress on each of them by playing one game today, another tomorrow, and so on.

if you dont like the game simply dont fininish it unless you really really hate the "ugly"ness ... i played farcry got 0GS for it then gave it up because i hated it so much.. so... the only thing i dont like is when my gamersocre is not a 0 or a 5

For me, as long as I have at least 1 achievement for at least 5 points I'm fine.

I am the type of person who simply won't buy games that have hard achievements or glitched achievements, except for Guitar Hero games. I always love having a high completion percentage and I always try to get 1000 in all my games.

At the beginning of summer, I had 840 GS in Saints Row because I couldn't get King-Pin or Gangsta or Chain Gang, and I had 800 in Call of Duty 3 because I couldn't get Colonel or General. Well I sat down, and I played a lot, and I got both of those games to 1000! I never thought I would.

I thought I cared after I played Blue Dragon and only got 10gs before putting it down again as I hated it. However after getting some free XBLA games that I haven't bothered to do and are 0gs on my profile I no longer care. What annoys me is if I get anything other then 0 or 5 at the end of my score, oh and the fact my friend lent me King Kong so I could get the easy 1000gs off it (I'm trying to get 10k) and the disc keeps freezing, so I have one of the easiest games on 360 on my profile with 0gs x_x!

It does any me a bit, but like A Polish Panda (the member on this forum) I tend to go for games with easier achievements, that way I can get more gs quicker and it doesn't look as ugly.

I know its very hard to get 1000 in every game so I usually settle for 750. That where I really push to so I don't feel like the entire effort was in vein.

I suffer from low-level OCD and, as a result, am a fairly strict completionist. It drives me nuts looking at my games list and seeing all those incomplete games. I just don't have the time anymore to devote to "grinding" games out. That makes me feel a little better, but it still burns my ass that things like COD2 & Dead Rising are barely even started. I really wish you could delete the ones you don't want on your gamercard. I guess that would wreak havoc on GSL's.

after i joined this site, i got more into completion. What do i do for games that i got bored of and didn't get a 1000? well, i've been suffering through it attempting to raise my completion %. I just turned an 80/1000 in viva pinata into a 1000/1000. currently, i'm going back to play lego star wars II.
there are those certain games though that i know i'll never get a 1000 in. like any of the guitar heroes. those, i just accept early that i wont complete them, and it just makes playing the game a lot more fun.

yeah it sure does annoy me, i have gh3 in my game score with only 100, so lately I've been trying to get that up, but the achievements are all just so hard.

Another thing, on the other end of the spectrum, is the game that will probably haunt me forever - History Channel Civil War. That game will forever be at 950 on my system because no matter how many different copies I put in or what I do, the pistoleer achievement simply will not unlock. I've went back through the game and killed almost every enemy in it with a pistol, but it just won't unlock.

For me I think its more of an achievement for people who have high GTs to have at least 50% anyone can get the really easy achievements

I agree. Someone with over 100,000 GS and at least 85% completion would be amazing. Of course, this number will continue to rise as more and more games come out and the new system debuts.

I used to be a hardcore completionist on the original Xbox. I had 100% completion in every game I had that used completion percentages, and for the ones that didn't, I had everything beaten on the hardest difficulty. And I had games like Blinx, 3 Tony Hawk's, and Spider-Man 2 on there.

Then, I bought my 360 with Call Of Duty 3 and Tony Hawk's Project 8, and, well, I was doomed. I basically started spiraling into an anticompletionist slump, and it took me well over a year to start getting stuff straight. I just 1k'ed COD3, and I'm working on Seriously right now. I'll have at least 90% by the Fall rush of games.

Yes the same with me, but mostly with glitched achievements, I usually try the hard achievements out and if I can't do it then I'll settle for whatever score I can get. I've been noticing that in most of my recent games, I get stuck in the 930-950 range and can't 1k them :p

I didn't even know 1k in CoD3 was possible. How did you get all the online achievements? Did you boost or are there many people on it.

Wow. 20,000 in 4-5 days? Thats incredible. I only boost when its a game where not many people play or where I just suck so bad at that I can't get a kill.

Well, I didn't get 40,000 kills. You can 'flag boost', where, long story short, you can get points for picking a flag off the base / returning it to the base. You can get something like 500 points in a match if everyone complies, the problem is getting everyone to comply. But if you can find a bunch of other people and just hit COD3 with everything you have for a few days, it's suprisingly doable.

I remember getting 9990 points in easy games in a row during GSL II. That helped completion percentage a lot. I more than doubled my score in that league.

I'm 50/50 about it. Of course, the only 100% game I have is an XBLA game. I am a whore for GS, though, so it's annoying to me that I haven't completed many. I'm working on 1000/1000 for Bioshock and Mass Effect right now. Ugh!

I am 50/50. I love seeing 1000's in a row on my card. During the GSL, my gamerscore jumped about 17k while I was still playing. I hae under 40 % completion but that's from the GSL. I had a 56% when I started the GSL. Grinding out the sports titles to only aim for 500 and move on to another to get another quick 500 is tough. Right now I am geoing for Seriously and after that, I will be going for General.

Finally I find people that feel the same way as I do.

I hate games on my list that are below 700+, but lately I'm not caring as much.

As long as my Gamerscore/Games Played % is high, then I'm fine.

Yeah i knida feel like this (as my sig would suggest) I just wanna stay above 50% but if my GT got broke/lost/deleted or whatever i would only play good games where 1000 is possible and play one at a time til i 1k it and sell all my shit games.

I would start with BioShock, Halo 3 and GTA IV. Which i currently have 800, 840 and 275 GS on, as i have so many games i just put a new one in everyday!!!

Ive had Kameo over a year and Bionical Heroes 8 months and never played them = a few others like Mass Effect for 6 months. Lol.

I think I got 30G on Far Cry. I actually put up with it for that much then got rid of it too because it's absolutely terrible.

I just traded in Dragonball Z: Burst Limit and have only 300G(ish) on that. If it's a game I won't play then I trade it in. I have better games I could be playing.

I have to have a certain amount per game, but it depends on the game, I would like more on Gears, maybe the full 1250, 650 minimum on SVR 2008, and some different targets on others.

I'd prefer to have my games above 700GS too, but that is also a big advantage sometimes compaired to a PS3 of Wii console, since it really inproves it's replay-value or makes you do side-quests you'd never like to do on a PS3. That's why I love my 360 <3.
