I swear to god if FF XIII has a collect all treasures achievement like Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey & Infinite Undiscovery I am going to flip out and go smack the hell out of the idiot who thought putting those in would be cool. Granted I haven't gotten those achievements in those games YET but I have yet to miss a treasure in all of them to the point where I am at and fully intend to get them but this is both tedious and kind of ruins the game a little in my opinion.

I know what ya mean about the Treasure Trove Achievement, and hoping it's not on there, but I'm definitely thinking one will deal with having the main characters master a certain job level or level up to the highest level possible. (99?)

yeah i definitely see the first one popping up. somehow i don't see chocobos in this game. unless they are outside the cities, which we haven't seen anything about.

since it seems like you are part of a resistance group (big suprise), there may be side missions you do for them that are linked to achievements. possibly a grinding achievement, or mastering all skills/summons/etc.

and ofcourse story related quests.

I'd rather have hard achievements than time consuming ones.
Seriously, you have to sacrifice a year of your life to complete Final Fantasy XI.

I have no doubts that there will be the standard storyline/boss related achievements, and I'm sure there will be one for beating the hardest optional boss as well.

I'm hoping for a good 60-100 hours worth of achievements on this.

I agree, we need some achievements for beating the hardest boss e.g omega etc, and I REALLY hope its not JUST story related achievements like enchanted arms:( that was such a letdown.

I wish FF12 was on the 360 with achievements..there are some sweet possibility's in that game... but I could see myself fully enjoying something like this:

Main story line bosses + beating the game(400)
50 for a few main bosses, 100 for final boss(es) seeing as there will be 7 versions of the final boss then maybe some minor bosses at 25 points?

Defeat Crazy optional enemy #1(75)
Defeat Crazy optional enemy #2(75)

A given that they will be in the game and it seems likely there will be achievements attached to them, though I could see them only being 50 points each.

Fill all characters skill trees (or w/e equivalent they're having, I havnt looked too much)(150)
We all know how JRPGs love to have their maxing out achievements

Minor plot points(100)
"Snow joined your team" (10), "You've reached blahblah city" (10) stuff like that

Collected every summon creature (15)
Leveled up all summon creatures to level 15 (25)

Dunno if they have levels but it sounds like it'd be a good time. If not maybe use every summon x times?

Killed 1000 Enemies (20)
Dealt 1,000,000 Damage (40)

Always something like this in RPGs it seems..

Acquire each characters Ultimate weapon (50)

Seeing as how they usually put a emphasis on each character having a special ultimate weapon it makes sense.

Its 5:30 in the morning and I cant think of another 50.. Please note these arnt necessarily what I think the achievements will be but more like what I would be willing to spend 100 hours on getting..Im really hoping no stupid collect crappy/useless items (im looking at you flags in Assassins Creed, obtain every item in Infinite Undiscovery..)

Whatchyall think?

Please may there not be a treasure trove achievement!!! Damn they are too much <_<

But I've decided to not care about achievements and just play the game once through! Then after completing it and enjoying the story, I will continue with achievements!

my guess is:
- secret achievements story related
- collections achievements like weapons, items, monsters, summons
- sidequests and optional bosses achievements
- max your characters Lv./skills achievements
- some other achievements related to mini-games

I'd love to see an achievement involving a chocobo, purely because im a hardcore final fantasy fan n it'd be sweet to have an achievement icon with a chocobo on lol.
I agree treasure trove achievements like lost odyssey are bad news but i HOPE TO HELL they dont make the whole 1000 all story based like enchanted arms was. Im so excited about this game and i'd love to even be one of the first people to beat it 1000:gsicon:.

I hope it's designed so that all achievements can be gotten in two playthroughs. First playthrough can be done with no guide, and the second playthrough you can use a guide to finish up the rest of the achievements.

Yeah, they advertised the release date some time ago on the xbox website:

9th March 2010 for us UK fans

As for achievement wise, there WILL be an achievement for every boss you defeat, you can probably bet your whole life savings on it XD (They did that for Star Ocean)

Not sure about weapon achievements but i'd be very happy if there were easy achievements for unlocking summons... Odin is the shits =D

basically i can see it having achievements like infinite undiscovery with the exception of infinite mode, but all items if not ultimate weapons, which have a history of being somewhat difficult unless you are a hXc FF player, like myself.(not bragging) of course you will have story related, mini-game related, and side quest related without question, i mean come on its final fantasy. i read throughout the replies and seen something about not knowing if you will leave cities, come on think back ff7 almost ruin the series for me, all super futuristic, no old fantasy look, in a city, you didnt see much about the world map, but yet again it is final fantasy and if you lived in cramped ole japan youd understand why they are the best in making massive fantasy type rpg's! they have no room they dream wide open freedom. with new technologies that today has and as long as its been working the world map will be huge!! and a massive traveling achievement would be awesome! especially if accompanied with skill/level related achievements. and maybe a max the clock out achievement cause what FF fan hasnt maxed the clock on all FF games?

I was thinking an achievement I would like to see that I havn't seen in any 360 RPGs, not that i've played anyway, would be an achievement for defeating one of every enemy in the game. I really liked the beastiery in FFX and enjoyed getting that to 100%.

Aquire all GF's/Aeons & use specific Aeon/GF a certain amount of times achievements would be nice.

I'd also like a load of story progression achievements, a final achievement for beating the game and a few optional bosses achievo's.

It all depends on the game and we don't know what it's going to be like yet.

Travel 100,000 metres on foot would be awesome. I wouldn't be mad if I suddenly went in the wrong direction :p

Correct me if I am wrong.

The game is coming out in Japan in what? two more weeks? When it does come out, it should have trophy for PS3 (or achievements for X360?), right? Even though it may be in Japanese, someone can translate (maybe I'll try asking my sister since she is learning Japanese) and edit the achievements list in English (I'm not saying member in this website should do it). Once it is edited, we'll have clear look at what the achievements will be, right?

There are some related to battle ratings, but they are all repeatable. So if you don't get them the first time, you can always try again. They are some of the secret achievements.

These achievements don't look hard at all. They'll take a bit of time to get everyone to level 5 on every role. It's kind of like Blue Dragon in that sense, probably not as extreme though. Only one playthrough is required and there are no missable achievements. I think this is going to be too easy to max out.....I love final fantasy, and I was really hoping for a challenge. I have a feeling this will join my maxed out stack very soon :/

Most of the achievements are secret (darn it).

And when you do get them it's just some dumb saying eg
"Instrument of Fate=Took the first steps toward challenging an unjust fate"

Then the ones that aren't secret are for mastering things, which sounds like it will take a while.

Budget. This one seems to be alot like 10 so far, I've only played it for an hour so far.

Lots of battle scenes. One thing I don't like is you don't get exp for battles, it seems they are pretty much pointless in making you good, you just battle to get through the level. Been looking forward to this game for like 2 years I think. *sigh*

You do start getting CP later on in the game for battles. You're still in the insanely long "tutorial" phase of the game.

I'm sorely disappointed in the "collect all weapons and items" achievement. To me these are the single player RPG equivalent of the "gain rank X in multiplayer" achievements in shooters. The sole purpose of the achievement, it seems, is to make you sink endless hours into the game. Although one could at least argue the collect all items achieves in RPGs are designed to get you to "experience the game" more thoroughly by forcing you to look around the world they created.

At the same time, I'm also happy about this achievement simply because it sets apart the casual players that won't put the time and effort into it from those of us that will focus, buckle down, and get the achievement. Dang these mixed emotions! FF XIII sure as shootin won't be the game to break my 100% completion even if it takes 500 hours! I highly doubt it will take more than 100 or 150 hours tops to 1k though. Should be a fun ride. :)

im a little confused about the basis for getting 5 stars in battles :x sometimes ill finish around 20 seconds under target time and still not get it, cant figure out what factors into that.

anyways for the achievements, is the loremaster just using libra on 100 different enemies?

I'm not very far in, but I'm wondering about some of the "mission" related achievements. Especially the ones that require 5 stars. Do you only have one shot, or can you retry it WITHOUT having to reload a previous save? I don't want to mess up and have to replay the entire game to get an achievement...

Ze11os
03-13-2010, 10:46 AM
I have a question about L'Cie Paragon... is there a way in-game to tell which marks you have already 5 starred? Or will I have to go through the few that I've done again to make sure they are 5 starred?

Edit: Nvm, I'm apparently blind lol. Never noticed the 'push X to view mission list' on the bottom of the map screen.

I'm 65 hours in, and I am still getting all the missions. You have to be max trained to 5star all the missions, so this game is going to take 100+ hours. That treasure hunter achievement is a bitch...

Yes you can. All you need to do is go back to the cie'th stone that gave you the mission and it'll respawn the mark. You don't get the treasure from it again though sadly =/

The difficulty will come in when you have to 5 star the missions...you gotta have some pretty good setups to do the later ones.

Just wanted to post what I did for the Treasure Hunter achievement to maybe save some people time. When I started I only had three tier 3 weapons and not much else upgraded at all, maybe 50k xp worth (witches bracelet* and a catalog).

1. I collected and farmed every Trap/Accessory/Dark Matter I needed.(Can Genji/weapon dismantle some traps)
2. Farmed up about 4.5 Million Gil then made a separate game save.
3. Upgraded all my accessories using the list posted then sold them all. Dismantle grow egg* for more gil.
4. Upgraded all my weapons. Had to sell a few in between to finish off the rest.
5. Went to the robot for the achievement, reloaded my separate save back before I started to upgrade, and capped the good stuff out for 5-starring missions.

Hopefully this saves you some time knowing about how much gil I started with. I've seen some posts that say you need 7-10 mil to do this.

just think of it like this "target time" is the average time for the fight which mean if the target time is 2:30s and u finish it in 2:30s u will get a 3 star(there is no half star from what i know). and if u get like say 1:30s which i think this will get u a 5 star for this fight. and if u get 2min u will get a 4 star. last is what ever u had that's higher then the target time u will get no star to 3 star.(they are example)

how long time did Master's Seal achievement take for you?

that depend on how a person play this game. some may want it fast so they grind CP alot using fast CP spot. some may do it slow and just get CP the normal way without trying to grind on the CP spot much.
for me if i remember right i think i got this around 100 hrs(i took 80hrs to beat the story) oh yeah i got all the "achievement" for this game in the PS3.

If someone don't know this - there is 3rd way to earn Lucky Break achievement (100k+ with one hit).
Every character has 5ATB abilityif you have enough str you can use it on enemy, here's how:
Snow, Fang - COM
Light, Shaz, Hope - RAV
Vanille - SAB, but it's death spell, and some mobs are immune, tbh i don't know if killing a mob with death and not dealing 99,999x2 dmg will unlock Lucky Break.

- enemy can't have any physical resistances
- you can debuff him with deprotect and buff party's physical attack
- stagger enemy, and at full bar use 5ATB ability
- character will do 2 hits, with good str it will be 99,999 and xx,xxx (can also be 99,999) and she will clear stagger state and chain gauge

It wont't break 100k+ limit, it still will be 99,999 + xx,xxx, but it will unlock the Lucky Break achievement.

cheers

I put a good deal of time into finishing the game, probably more than most people but I had a lot more trouble with the five-star mission achievement than the treasure hunter. But that might just have been because i was tired from fighting the tortoises by that point.
