August 19th DLC is ready to be announced! This week we're hopping into the wayback machine and setting the dial for the early '80s. We've got a pair of tracks each from two of new wave's most influential and altogether awesome bands in Duran Duran and Devo! And as a special aside, the Devo tracks are new recordings from the band, made special for Rock Band! Each track goes for 160 MSP ($1.99).

Also this week we present a track from the Janitors, "Get Your Rock On," which is featured on the American Mall soundtrack. That song will go for 80 MSP ($0.99).

You'll be able to snag all of these tracks on Xbox Live Marketplace on Tuesday, and the PlayStation Network Store on Thursday.

TRACKS:

Devo - "Girl U Want" (new original recording) - 160 MSP - $1.99

Devo - "Through Being Cool" (new original recording) - 160 MSP - $1.99

Duran Duran - "Girls on Film" - 160 MSP - $1.99

Duran Duran - "Rio" - 160 MSP - $1.99

The Janitors - "Get Your Rock On" - 80 MSP - $0.99

All tracks are masters.

I can guarantee you are wrong. These are party songs that almost anybody can jump in and have fun on. Deep at it's core, Rock Band is a party game, and songs that inspire people to try something new will always sell well.

Duran, Duran and Devo are 10x more popular/well-known than Megadeth and anyone else in last week's pack besides maybe Dream Theatre. This will sell very well.

I'll pick up Girls on Film for sure. Probably the only DD song I enjoy.

Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand! If I get any, it'll most likely be this one.

I hate early 80's pop. That being said, Rio is one of those songs that everyone over 20 will recognize and want to play, so thank you for giving me another 3 minutes of fun with my friends!

dont be bitter because your an old man and im not! and its not like i dont konw who duran duran and all them are, i just dont really listen to their music. Girls on film sounds fun i may or may not pick that one up based on what my regular bandmates do. i dont even really know what to say about devo. glad they are putting out stuff that some of the older folks will like and remember from their early days.

btw duran duran started to die out around 1986, the year i was born so come on really dex! i dont listen to all old people music ;)

But old people music is the best kind!

Where else would you be exposed to Judas Priest, The Cars and Boston?

Ok, to be honest, I've never liked Duran Duran, even though most of my girlfriends in high school (93-97) loved them. I did however fall in love with "Girls on Film" because it was the opening credits song to a great anime I used to watch called Speed Grapher. I didn't even know it was DD until I looked up the info - after watching at least 5 episodes. By then, the song was already stuck in my head.

thats ok sharon, as long as you stay young at heart you will still be awesome

theres nothing wrong with being old as long as your not like my boring ass parents who never leave the house and just sit around and sew and read all day long...

Wow, who knew my age would be guessed so quickly? Now because all the older rock I listen to is metal and classic bands like Boston, I have never heard any of these guys songs, unless I'm getting a case of the "heard-it-before-but-don't-know-names". Can I get a woot for being pop-rock retarded?.... no? Aw.

Devo, maybe. Duran Duran, I can't stand hungry like the wolf, and that's all that comes to mind with them.

I knew something was up when I saw Rock Band in a preview for American Mall.

Hungry like the wolf is in Rock Band 2.

In other Duran Duran news... this song hurt my pinky finger on expert :(

I actually enjoyed playing the bass part 100x more than the guitar.

I may have to pick these up. Granted I haven't heard of most these because I'm only 15 But my mom actually wants to learn to play guitar hero and rock band. And she said if there is any DLC she wants she'll pay for it. And she loves Rio I know. So why not get free DLC

Wow guitar looks insane... i can barely do the GO chords... i'm pretty sure that would hurt. but on the plus side... bass is mega easy.

Hungry like the wolf is in Rock Band 2.

I realized that soon after posting, damn, it takes me forever to get that song out of my head.
