Well , I have the 1 ring in the corner and its not the AV cables gone its the xbox inside. I did the towel trick and it worked. But it went back to its original error. Now I need to force the RRoD so MS Will fix it. Anybody know what I can do?

The only reasons Xbox's get RROD is because of over heating and hardware.

Oh ok , I just dont want it to start a fire. I will probably put it on all day tommorrow. How will I know if I have RROD will it come up instead of 2 rings?

I don't get why they wouldn't repair it on a single LED. They're doing it for me. o_O;;

Do what I did when I got 1 light, call them up and say its 3 red lights, they'll still fix it for free :)

if the main cause of RROD is over heating, why not turn it on and use a hair dryer to blow warm air into the cooling ducts surely that would do it? not that i would advise this lol

make sure you take your Harddrive out, unless that's what it is...... but I'd take it out if they give you a different 360.

They tell you to separate everything anyway. Plug, face plate, HDD, etc.

Match+Sticking it in the cooling section=Let it burn a little, then try to turn it on. Lol
No, just try to keep it on overnight (near a smoke detector just in case)

Just paint the ring area with a red sharpie! They will never notice!

stop the fans from moving with something that can stick though and play an intensive game like GTA or Halo for a bit, RROD should occure sooner or later

you all are saying leave it on overnnite ive done that beofre (downloads) and it had been completly fine and that was after i had been playing it for ages before so you actully have to stop the cooling system if you want it to overheat like that

Indeed, my XBox has been on 48h+ for several times, so I doubt that will work.

Put rocks in the disk tray, turn it on and shake it?

Put one of those fans for the 360 on the back, wrap it in a bunch of towels or blankets and turn it on for a while as you play a game or something.

throw it down the stairs, then jump down in an attempt to save it but you actually fall on it breaking it even more :)

The intercooler does not void the warranty. They wouldn't even know you had one. lmao

Just leave it on constantly in a warm room for a while. Sure, it will take a long time, but it'll be fine.

Try this, cover all the vents with ductape, go on COD4, start a system link match with unlimited time on Pipeline. Go to the machine gun stand, start firing then stick the right trigger with tape. The smoke produced from the gun causing the CPUs to work harder thus producing more heat. I noticed this when people lobbed smoke grenades and I worked through them, I could hear the fans speeding up.

I got to say this is an unusual thread. Just call MS and tell them you have three rings instead of one. I've done it twice. They didn't ask any questions. The other time I had one replaced I actually did get the RROD.

So yeah just call MS and try it out. Or just keep it on for a few weeks. If you're not willing to leave it on I don't know what to tell you.

Damn, you beat me to it. I have done this twice now, mainly because the refurbs they send me have minor cosmetic damage; its one of my peeves.

I tell them that sometimes I pick up the 3 red lights, do the towel trick, and it's fine for a while, and starts again. They honestly don't care.

And I was hoping they will send me a console with HDMI... ;)

Actually it DOES void the warranty, believe it or not. Its considered an "unofficial" addon, and it can ruin the power source on the 360's side. Thats how they find out :P

Towel Trick will do it, as well as leaving it on constantly. Keeping it in an enclosed space works too.

I don't believe they test the consoles. Just tell them you got RRoD and they'll take it anyways
