View Full Version : Beat Endless Setlist on Expert all by my lonesome

So after two separate attempts at the endless setlist with friends (both times ending poorly, but thats another story) I finally decided to see if I couldn't tackle this damn thing on my own. So one night, after quite a bit of caffeine, I started the setlist with me playing Expert Bass and singing Expert Vocals (I would have done expert guitar, but I thought I might go crazy so I decided to play it safe). Anyways, 4 and a half hours later I was the proud new owner of the Platinum Artist achievement. I'm not really posting this to brag, but I'm really curious if anyone else was as crazy as me and has attempted the same thing. If so I'd love to hear your story.

Also if there is already a similar thread like this I'm sry, I searched, but didn't find anything quite the same.

A number of the Rock Band forum regulars have done this also, but congratulations man!

Lot of respect due, it is a great accomplishment.
Any songs that you struggled with?

Well as far as bass went the bass part on Green Grass sucked. It wasn't especially hard its just gets tiring. For Vocals the only song I've ever had trouble with was Gimmie Shelter, but i ran through it a few times before I started the set so I was good to go. Luckily I didn't fail any songs during the set.

I did this as well. I was pretty nervous that I'd fail out so I made sure I finished vocal tour beforehand, I had already done guitar tour. I quickly discovered it was alot easier than I had imagined because I could save my vocals with the bass if I failed out. Due to this, I never failed out of a song.

Nice job!! Did you use a mic stand, headset, or wrap the microphone around your head? (Seriously I know someone who did this when he was drunk lol)

I used a mic stand, I use to do the cities with a wireless head set, but it wasnt the most accurate. I figured for the endless setlist it would be best to use the real thing.

That does deserve appriasal, I did The Ramones with Guitar on Expert and Vocals on Medium and found it complicated, was messing up the Guitar when I should be getting 100% haha.

So yeah that's the way to go get the achievement when your friends let you down! :)

Congrats to you, i know how hard it can be. I too had to do endless setlist by myself because no one around me wanted to help me.
Had to make my own mic stand from the drum set, and no... it wasn't the same one that the guy made from his video.

What video? How did you do it? Does it work well?

I normally hang my mic from the ceiling light, but it's not very good

I'm about ready to try it, beat it with a friend on hard about 3 months ago, but I was singing and he was playing guitar. . . I have played all the songs on the guitar solo tour except GG&HT, so I think I could do it all on bass and vocal. . . it's good to see others do it, makes it feel feasible.

Well, I have no-one to play Band World Tour with, so I discovered by myself that I was able to use the mic and guitar/bass simultaneously, so I started that. I am yet to try the endless setlist, but I will soon, Gratz.

Yeah, but you can just lower it! I have to bend down to the mic and it hurts my neck ;D
But i might try putting the drum legs on top of a table or something ahah

I don't know how tall you are, but I am 6'3 and just put a few textbooks underneath and it worked great...

If you guys want to sit while you do the setlist, you can always do what i did, and this is no joke. I sat down and crossed my legs with guitar in hand and with a cardboard tube from some christmas wrapping paper I stuck the mic in one end and the other in between my legs and rested the tube on the neck of the guitar. It worked great, achievement unlocked. LMAO
