I haven't even heard rumors about this, much less any actual confirmation. It sounds to me like you've fallen for some rumor on another site.

Yeah because Activision has secured exclusive rights to Metallica. Harmonix was lucky to get Battery for Rock Band 2 before it happened. I'm pretty sure thats why Enter Sandman can't be exported

In an interview with the creators of the music video game (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Music_video_game) Rock Band (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_Band) in October (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/October) 2007, it was stated that Metallica had given the rights to MTV Games (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MTV), the game's publisher, to have the first single off Death Magnetic available for playability on the game before the album's release.[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Day_That_Never_Comes#cite_note-1) On August 1 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/August_1), 2008 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2008), that first single was ultimately revealed to be "The Day That Never Comes

but It looks like GH got it some how, dont really know how but i pulled this off of wiki. but meh, guess i'm going to have to sucker into buying GHWT more now.

Well since Metallica seems to want every dime they can get, Activision probably wrote Metallica a big check for the exclusivity (including the Guitar Hero Metallica).

lol I don't think I've been around that long then. I figured that if this is something that's supposed to happen around this time then there would have been some posts about it by now. I've never heard anything about this metallica single coming to rock band, though that could be a result of me 1) not ever going to the rock band forums and 2) not being a metallica fan.

even though it sucks that there won't be metallica for rock band at least the will have a full game of their songs
