Do you have to win these to get the achievements? Thanks for any responses.

These are found in the main menu under the "RACE" selection. I did the 250 yesterday and it took me 46 minutes. I won so I don't know if you need to win to get the achievement. I was wondering if you go straight to the 1000 will you get all 3 achievements?

Thats a big no, you will not get all three for just playing the Baja 1000.

But you can get the two Baja 1000 achievements if you race in a Trophy Truck.

But be warned the Baja 1000 takes between 2 and 3 hours of racing to complete, and must be done all in one sitting since you can't save and quit, and then come back to it. Its long, its boring and you really don't have to win, but its hard not to since you kill the CPU's time if your good enough at high speed racing.

I've just finished the Baja 1000 with a Trophy Truck and it took me 134 minutes, but I was racing pretty fast :)

Also got both achievements (Baja 1000 + King of the Hill)

SAFETY TIP - you can't get these achievements in an online race. Me and a buddy just finshed a Baja 500 and no achievements.

I don't think you have to win; just race. I've heard it averages about 3 hours.

how about if i turn the settings to where i should be able to win...like i change the AI to easy, damage off, and make tree collisions to few...would i get the achievements still?

It took me about 133 minutes (roughly 2 1/2 hours) in an unmodified trophy truck at 2 in the morning. Fatigue started to settle in around the cocono island track...

heh, when I did that race I got 3 achievements
Baja 1000, King of the Hill, and First Race Won... just seemed that none of my races up to then had been 5 laps. I did beat 2nd place by 12 minnutes tho and that was awesome.

you just have to win a race in single player, doesn't matter about laps just another shit problem with this game!!

I did the baja 1000 over the weekend, it took me 2.5hours and when it went to load up the results nothing happened. Eventually I had to turn the xbox off.

2.5 hours for nowt!

If the game wasn't a rental it would have been snapped in half and microwaved! As it was a rental I calmly placed it back in it's little envelope and angrily shoved it into the post box.

Bah.

My buddy and I wanted to do the Baja 1000 online together but then I saw you can't get the achievo's when you do that.

That's lame ass development right there.
Online or Singleplayer, it's still the Baja 1000!

Not entirely related but anyone have a list of how long the various 250s, 500s and the 1000 are? I'm most familiar with the real 1000 which lately has been around 1300 miles and I started the 250 earlier and only did like 20km (That is like 13 miles) in the first stage.
