more interesting is how to get certain ones which are really hard to get. from the 53 i collected 4 have been tricky and another 4 i can't reach...

I was thinking about posting all the maps with the markers of the diamond cases ive found (i havent found that many)...

And then wait for input from other people telling me where they found another crate, so i can update the map images frequently until we found them all...

The majority of them are really easy to find. There's usually one in every guard post, and/or near any landmark on the map, and when you're driving/running through the bush, just have your map out all the time and keep your eye out for the green light.

I have a question...

You notice the number on the top left of the maps.... what does it mean?

For example lets says 12 Diamonds...

Are there 12 diamond shapes to be found? or is it the sum of all the suitcases (some suitcases have 2-3 diamonds)...

I dont know if i explained myself....

i thought it would be simple enough.

for example: section A says there are 12 diamonds in this area.

That means there could be 5 suitcases with 1 diamond, 2 suit cases with two diamonds and a last suitcase with 3 diamonds in it. Ergo, the 8 suictcases all add up to the total value of 12 diamonds.

mmhhmm i dont know it that is "simple enough"...

I really think that if it says 12-D in the area, i had to find and leave 12 diamond "marks" on the map. (not 8 as you explained). And, the map ALSO marks the TAPES you find as a diamond marker in the map.... does this count towards the total diamond count of the zone??.

Also the way you explained does not leave any way of knowing if you "cleared" up that part of the map, unless you take note of the quantity of diamonds found in each suitcase.

Id like a confirmation!

When you open a case it says X out of 220 or somewhere near there, so if you go and add up all the numbers eg 12, 15 it equals 220 so i'm guessing the number represents how many cases are in the area.

mmhhmm hehe

I was putting together all my maps, and came here to find someone else made a better job i did!...

so, i guess there is no need for my maps...

------------

EDIT:

There are a few diamonds i cant reach as they most likely need a paraglider to get to them...

Can anyone add the location of the paragliders when needed? like:

How do you get to that glider you circled?
EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out. The * is the glider.

This was an enormous help, now I have gathered all the diamond suitcases and unlocked the achievement
(note that you also have to gain all the other diamonds by payment for the story missions and cellular tower side missions)
By the way,all those diamonds add up exactly to the amount the items available in the weapon shop cost
(after finding all the diamonds and purchasing everything in the shop,at the end you're at exactly 0 diamonds again)

Can anyone help with the diamond in the north western corner of the central part of Bowa-Seko? It's on a ledge next to the river, and if you head up river a bit there is a glider (on the next map section near the golden AK), but try as I might it will not go down river far enough to land me on the outcropping. I'm probably just missing something obvious, but any help would be appreciated.

Credit for these maps/descriptions go to JosephStalin from http://forums.filefront.com.

Starting from the upper left corner of the map (if we grid out the main world map like an Excel spreadsheet, it can be A1, B1, C1 along the top, then A2, B2 and C2 from left to right along the middle, and A3, B3 and C3 from left to right along the bottom):

Railyard (A1): (take the glider in the blue circle to reach the diamond atop a rock in the red circle)
http://xs432.xs.to/xs432/08436/fc2railyarddiamonds134.jpg

Goka Falls (C1): (take the glider in the blue circle, atop the falls, to the right of the building to reach the diamond in the red circle, atop a cliff - alternatively, some people claim you can jump to reach this diamond, but I couldn't do it, so the glider is a good secondary way. You have to jump from a rock in the pink circle to another rock to reach the diamond at the end of the pink arrow, in a building on top of a mountain. And the purple circle outlines a somewhat hidden path to reach this diamond in a small crack in the cliff face.
http://xs432.xs.to/xs432/08436/fc2gokafallsdiamonds161.jpg

Pala (B2): (take glider in blue circle to reach diamond in red circle (not yet marked on the map, but it's where the red circle is). Also, one of the diamonds (in this case, the one shown in Slaughter House) may vary, depending on which corner of the map you start in).
http://xs432.xs.to/xs432/08436/fc2paladiamonds315.jpg

Mokuba (C3): (Fly glider from red circle to diamond).
http://xs432.xs.to/xs432/08436/fc2mokubadiamonds653.jpg

"Goka Falls (C1): (take the glider in the blue circle, atop the falls, to the right of the building to reach the diamond in the red circle, atop a cliff - alternatively, some people claim you can jump to reach this diamond, but I couldn't do it, so the glider is a good secondary way."
I got it by jumping. I suck at flying the glider. When looking at the ledge the case is on, you'll hear your thing beeping, go to the right 10-20ft. There's a spot you can walk straight up the smooth ground. Go up as far as you can. Click RT and hit A while facing the ledge the case is on to the left. Keep hitting both and pray. It took about 5 tries but I got it. The glider is really hard to get there on this one.
