Finally, I like the way the XBO works now, and I like the way the PS4 was brought into the fray. Both companies have my applaud. However, I think Microsoft won the battle between releases. A hour long, and Short, sweet and to the point. They mentioned a couple games and said you WILL see the rest at E3 a few weeks. Not to mention they noted that not all of their policies for the next gen are set in stone, so there is still time for change on microsoft's part.
Over all, I'm going to get both systems, but I'll be getting XBO first. Not because I'm a MS Fan, but because I have friends getting it. PS4 will come later, because I want to see what other exclusives they'll bring to the table.
I also love the fact that people are blowing the who used game thing out of proportion, probably started again because of mis-information. "We have to pay a fee for putting used games on our account? it's gonna be like a brand new game!" When did microsoft every say that? I believe there should be a fee, that way companies don't make 100% off used games, because that kills developers. People always wonder "Why did my favorite developer shut down? Their game sold millions of copies!" How many copies actually sold for a new price? You can have 10 million players registered to a game, it doesn't mean they paid the developer for their copy. I understand that some people don't have the luxury to buy a new game every time they want one. I sympathize. However, the people who buy NOTHING but used stuff are the people who are killing developers because not a single penny went to developers, just to the heads of the company or the pocket of a kid they bought it from.
Not to mention people going on about "M$ doesn't support Indie Games! They're the future!" No. They're not the future, and I don't want them to be. Given, Some indie developers have some fun and interesting games, and I respect that. However, those amount to 1/1000 of shit games that clutter up servers on Microsoft's end. And since when did they say they don't support indie developers? They've said they do, however, you need to find a publisher. Thus, it becomes Darwinism with a side of Capitalism. Survival of the Fittest, with who has a better income.
The XBO, to me, is looking fantastic. Honestly, All hardware to make it run is the same as the PS4, But the PS4 has 8g's of GDDR 5, where as XBO has 8g's of DDR3. Not to mention XBO having 3 OS's to run, and 6 of the 8 g's are Dedicated strictly to gaming. The other 2g's are for everything else. PS4 doesn't have dedicated memory, it's all free floating.
I like both concepts of the systems, and see that both are VERY similar when it comes to what it'll do. XBO just has an advantage, because of the way the Kinect can work with your XBO. I Don't think people realize that the statement, "I don't want kinect with my XBO because I don't like it" is pretty petty, because the PS4 is coming with a Playstation Eye. Otherwise, why would they give you a button on a controller to share videos and live stream shit with, when you have to go out and spend an extra $60-$100 for that device so you can share you videos? It just doesn't make sense.
HA! Only just saw your message today. Wow. Had to look back to see what I agreed with :P But yeah, there are lots of people who have the same view, just few on here who do, and even less who will even say anything other than. Don't blame them, seems you have to be an achievement whore to get any kind of credit on here. So, with everything that's been released, how are your views on the XBO?
