Bigg!! I'm going to write you back later from our other messages, and I did reply to you in my blog, although I think it got buried from my picture post that followed it lol! BUT I had to quickly share - I got the Gwent achievements!!
I did the final Gwent tournament and it was surprisingly easy! Was it super easy for you too? I beat all 4 opponents in my first try! And two of them, including Tybalt, PASSED in the middle of the last round, when I was winning, and when they still had 4 cards and I had 8-9 still to play! I was a bit dumbfounded, lol! Then, I had a few cards left to buy so I had to go to the Innkeeps at Urialla Village and Harviken Tavern. They weren't there originally, so I had to mediate for a bit, but then they popped up, I bought their cards, and voila! Got the Card Collector achievement!! What a weight off the shoulders once you have that! I'm SO happy right now, just had to share, but I'll talk to you again later!
Then I have Gangs of Novigrad, which I honestly have no idea how I failed that. All it said was, Talk to Cleaver. Apparently I never did, and must have went past that part in the story, because then it failed it right away lol. I think during the Main Story at the Bathhouse with Djikstra, maybe after all of that it failed, I think. Either way, I didn't see anything about it being necessary for an achievement, so I had to let it go. But I'm seriously not going to fail anything else, since I want to experience every quest! Ugh, still sucks though.
Hmmm, I don't have the Tower Out of Nowheres quest yet, but I remember doing the one with the statue and bringing it to Triss. I actually have two failed quests myself, they were small side quests from the earlier part of the game and I didn't realize I had failed them until it was too late and and I didn't want to go so many hours back in the game just to do them, when they were small and didn't have any affect on achievements or anything. One was Fake Papers, around level 4-5 or so, for clearing an old battleground full of corpses and Ghouls to get a discounted pass to cross a bridge. I got the pass another way, possibly by the Bloody Baron I think? So when I got the pass the other way, it failed that quest lol.
Then before I left, there was the issue of Nettie, so I used my Axii on the Rev. and said to untie her and let her go, and leave her alone, that sort of thing. So I did that and he said, "Ok" and did it lol. Nettie was thankful. But yeah the cut scene with Hubert at the docks was so cool when he said (paraphrasing), "You should have drawn your Silver sword." Then the morphing, I was like Ahhhh! So cool! But I wish it was longer, because in reality that whole part in the cut scene was probably like 5 seconds long lol.
Oh man, I agree, vacation homes in both Skellige and the Grassy Knoll area would be nice! Maybe when him and Yen get tired of chasing monsters, they will settle down and do something like that lol. Well, my main story quest is Ugly Baby now, so it looks like I'm headed back to the Bloody Baron's place to see Uma. This should be interesting lol!
Yeah, when I walked in on Rev. Nathaniel, it was dialogue choices that I made that allowed me to talk to him and we figured out together that it was Hubert! I can't for the life of me remember now what it was that I chose though... I was just kind of winging it, I hadn't looked up anything on the quest beforehand or anything. But whatever I chose, led him to say that whoever was behind the killings knew he would be there with Sweet Nettie and sent Geralt, to make it look like it was him. Then he realized that Hubert was the only one that knew he was there, and Geralt said yeah, Hubert is the one who found the note on the body that Sweet Nettie was next, thus making Geralt rush there. So Rev. Nate said you can find Hubert in the docks, where he's picking up a shipment of Formaldehyde, and you should get your answer there.
Man, I might have to tie Wolfenstein TNO and Metro Redux for 2nd place in my Top Five X1 Games Thus Far list lol! The narratives that BJ would do in Wolfenstein were so well voiced, he was perfect as BJ, and it was almost mesmerizing playing that game. The guns, shooting and action were incredible and the world that they depicted being ruled by the Nazi regime was so believable and scary all at the same time. But the Metro games - I fell in love with them, with Artyom, with the struggle that he and all of the survivors endured. The Librarians, the Demons and the Nosalis monsters come to mind immediately! And the Dark Ones, my goodness. It was a very atmospheric game and always tense - what's in the tunnels? Am I going to run out of air filters? Always something. And you could feel Artyom's stress as you played! Shoot, many times I actually got stressed out playing parts of it lol. They are SUCH great games!
