I stumbled onto a secret hideout camp and went inside, and found Vernon Roche and Ves inside! There wasn't any option for a quest or anything with them though, so I'm guessing I have to wait until I get the Eye For An Eye quest, do that, and then go back to see him so that they both go to Kaer Morhen? After the cut scene, I went all around but couldn't even find Ves to talk to. And Vernon only had two quick dialogue options, and once you talked to him with both of those, the conversation was over and that was it. So I left. I can't wait to get to Kaer Morhen, to talk to Lambert too, to see his backstory. It seems like so much happens there!
I also backtracked to a few Herbalists that I hadn't been to since much earlier in the game, and bought more recipes for Potions and Bombs, along with a few ingredients I still needed. This enabled me to get caught up on tons of recipes and I also made enhanced versions of lots of them too. Honestly I didn't play as much as I'd planned on last night, because of that Bethesda conference! Lol! It completely distracted me, oh my gosh!! Between The Witcher and then Fallout 4 this year, 2015 is just overwhelming! Not to mention all of the other games that have come out or are coming out this year. I'm still taking it all in!
I wandered around uncovering the Fast Travels and stumbled into more quests, tons of them actually! Mostly small ones with the small exclamation point, but I found a funny one just outside of a village with two Bards that were sitting under a tree getting drunk, so you sit down and have a drink with them, and you wind up drinking all night and passing out, and when you wake up, the Bards are gone and they've taken all of your clothes (except your pants)! I laughed so hard! So I tracked them down and took all of their clothes as revenge LOL! It was hilarious, oh my gosh I love this game. Then I stumbled onto the Fools Gold quest where the whole village was turned into pigs, and I was about to finish it up but I saved it for next time, since I was getting tired. I found a diagram during that quest though for a Feline sword, so I was happy about that!
Woo hoo, well I got 2 more achievements out of the way! The first was probably the easiest one in the game, and I can't believe I hadn't done it yet lol. It was Dendrologist (acquiring all abilities in one tree), which was so easy with saving, using a Potion of Clearance and then putting them all in the tree that only uses 10 points total; then reload your save. Then I got Enemy of My Enemy, and wow! This is game changing, a bit! I've been using that more and more (Puppet) and it helps SO much during fights! Whether it's two enemies, or seven, I'll cast it on one or even two of them and run back and a bit and watch them kill each other lol! I'm using this ALL the time now lol. What a great help! And I looked and realized that I only had around 50 Fast Travels uncovered, so I devoted a chunk of time to that and uncovered about 30 more. I found this great interactive map here with everything on it, so it's helped tons!
And awww, thanks Bigg. I also find it very kind that you take time away from your gaming and Guide writing to respond so much to me! I really enjoy these discussions too, because this is the first time I've really talked so much about a game with someone, as I'm playing through it! It's exciting lol! I think it's a lot of fun to see the differences in our gameplay choices too, so we can talk about what happened in your story versus what happened in mine! I'm going to play a little bit more this morning to see what else I can accomplish. And then I'll get to play some more tonight too, yayyy! When I don't get to play this game, I really do have withdrawals from it. I actually miss it, isn't that crazy?! Ha!
I agree, I think the allies are there for eye candy, to look awesome alongside Geralt as he does all the hard work, but they do just that - they leave the hard work for Geralt lol. I guess it makes sense though, because if they actually did any damage, I would totally be running and rolling out of the way of the enemies sometimes while the ally chops their health down lol. Especially for some of the harder fights. CD RED wanted to make sure that you do the fighting, and I can respect that. But it's just so contradictory to know what an awesome Witcher Vesemir is, or what amazing sorceresses Triss, Yen or Keira are. Then you fight with them, and they're so useless in the battles lol. But oh well, that's how it is, and I'm fine with that too lol.
I didn't even realize until you said something, that he doesn't take her head in the Night to Remember trailer. It was almost kind of sad at the end, when she returned to her human form and cried and you could see she was in pain on the ground when she fell, armless. She was trying to push a little with her legs and then became still, and died... It was pretty touching, honestly. Maybe that's why, because she'd returned to her human form? So at that point it would look like Geralt was the monster for decapitating a beautiful young girl who was already dead? I also love how it showed real gameplay mechanics too, like the bombs and everything. That trailer was very true to the game. I wish we could do that fight though! I wish it was a monster Contract.
