I don't understand why they would map the Detective Vision to the D-Pad? That's no good, since you have to pretty much stop walking to use it. Is there any way to reconfigure the controller at all? I wouldn't like that either. And that also stinks that the Batmobile is so bad to control! With it being such a large part of this game, I would think that extra attention would have been paid to making that part of it a fun part to play.
It might be hard to look past all of that while playing, since the control scheme and the Batmobile are such central parts of the game. At least the story and the side quests are good though! I know how much you were looking forward to this game, so I'm a bit bummed out for you. But maybe the more you play, other aspects of the game will pick up and balance it out a bit more, and make it a really great game before it's over with! I hope so, at least.
I was wondering how your Batman gaming is going! Gosh, I have to admit I'm pretty bummed to hear all of that. I've been reading a bit online about it, and I've read mixed reviews about it too. I know it's had a lot of problems with the PC release, and I was just reading on PCGamer on how they yanked it from being sold for the PC until it gets fixed. That's pretty crazy! I have a friend at work who is a HUGE Batman fan, much like yourself, and he had the game for his PS4 on day one. He played it a bit, and a bit more, and then he said he was disappointed and turned it off and went back to his other game. He mentioned the controls being horrible, much like you said. He mentioned a few other things, but funny enough, they also mirrored a lot of what you said. So I don't think you're alone in your perception on it so far. This is so sad to hear though! The game looked so awesome in the previous months.
I'm the same, I can't imagine any other game hitting me quite as hard in so many different ways as this game has. It's going to be very hard in the future not to compare other games I play to this one! Even the side quests that might be a simple "fetch" quest or something similar, feels very detailed and thought-out in this game. I loved the detail of that old house that Triss stayed in in Novigrad, that was tilting like the leaning tower of Pisa, being held up by wooden beams against the other house! And it was all crooked when you went inside too, it almost made me dizzy lol!
Yeah, I don't know how Vampyr will stack up, but I'll watch for more info on it. Oh yes, I remember Serana too! I remember seeing some videos on YouTube for mods that people made with her, and wow she was beautiful lol! Now I can't wait for the next Elder Scrolls game. I wonder if they will try to top The Witcher 3 in size lol?
Ha ha, yeah I'm averaging 1000G or so a month right now because of these super long games I'm playing, but it's all good. I love these long, immersive games! I do also enjoy the short ones, as they allow you to get it done and move on, thus clearing out some of your backlog at a good pace. But these longer games are where the adventures really lie.
I haven't really seen any real glimpse into Ciri's real powers or her meaning in the grand scheme of the Universe yet, so I'm itching to get to Kaer Morhen and go from there! I'm already preparing to be mind-blown at the end of the game. When I get near the end, I'm going to save it for a night off of work so I can do the entire last several hours in one shot. I don't want to get near the end and have to turn it off lol!
You made me curious, so I did some internet surfing this morning to see who the Lead Writer was for the Witcher 3! Most searches came up with the same name - Marcin Blacha. I think, from what I've read, he was the main driving force behind the writing of this game. I found this cool video on YouTube of him (he speaks very broken English) and another Senior Writer named Borys Pugacz Muraszkiewicz (who speaks surprisingly fluent English!) and it was interesting to watch! It was filmed in early 2013, so it's primarily about The Witcher 2 and it's story etc, but it's still cool to see the main Writers talk a bit about Geralt. And wow, the difference in the graphics when it shows the Witcher 2 clips, compared to the Witcher 3 now... It's a huge difference! Gosh, the Witcher 3 looks great. I want to give them both a huge hug for writing this game lol!
Gosh! Did it really take you about 6 hours to grind out the headshots with the crossbow? Ohhhhhhh man. I was thinking 30 minutes or so, if that. It's much more glitchy than I realized! I didn't wind up grinding it out the last time I played, but I'll do it this weekend. I don't think I unlocked a single achievement the last 2 nights I played. Although the last night I was off, I turned The Witcher off early to watch the last two episodes of Game of Thrones lol. But tonight and this weekend will be all about The Witcher again. I'm really bummed about that headshot achievement now though. I hate the thought of wasting that long doing a boring thing like that, over and over, just for an achievement... But alas, I will do it. I'm definitely going for 100% in this so, there is no choice. But that's like an entire night of playing just for that. That stinks...
Aww, that's ok Bigg! You can take your time writing back, no worries at all. Shoot, sometimes I don't make it on all day on the days I work, so sometimes I don't get back to you right away either. Hmmm, I wonder, was Geralt and Triss's Lighthouse scene sort of the same as a lot of the other "lovey dovey" scenes with random girls in the Brothel's around Novigrad, for instance lol? I noticed that even if you mess around with different girls, a lot of the scenes repeat each other. That would be a shame if Triss's scene was the same, since she is a special character to him. I would hope it would something unique, at least lol.
