I was really touched on the part when she went back to make sure Skjall was buried. I think she really did like the guy, and it made me a bit sad. But yeah that's strange how at first Ciri was upset and wanted to leave after talking to Emhyr, but later, she seemed to have thought it over and said it was what she wanted. Maybe it's like you said, she had time to think about it and then things became clearer to her. There were times during making dialogue choices that I just sat there thinking about it, staring at the screen too. It was so emotional!
As a Witcher, she can still help people, but it's more of a one-at-a-time thing. As Empress, she can help everyone through far grander decisions. It's still sad of me to think of her not being a Witcher, since she is one, but that's kind of selfish and I know that lol. Especially if she says she wants to do that. So sad, yet so beautiful of an outcome and ending for her. I can see her ruling with both her heart and her strength, and the people loving her for it. She is strong and stubborn but she cares for people, so I know she would be the greatest ruler ever.
I'm still torn with these endings, even though it's been 3 days since I've finished it lol! I'm going back and forth on if I should pick it back up (I still have a save) just before entering the Isle of Mists, and redo it the opposite way. Or I don't know, maybe I'll leave it since it was my original ending. I can't believe the ending/fate of your game all decided on that ONE dialogue choice, on whether or not to go with Ciri to Velen or to take her to see Emhyr first. Wow lol. I think the ending you got is right for her though, and will do the most good for the most people.
I was thinking something like cannon ball alley or a rope or even a ladder. For now I guess I'll just drop but eventually once I get the hang of it I'll learn to work my way down.
Once every two months Corrupt. and I go through every game that doesn't have a published guide. If the "last edited" is greater than 60 days we'll either send it to the Greenbook, contact the author to see what they plan to do with it (if they want more time that's completely fine) or decide to go ahead and publish it. Looks like his last edit was yesterday.
You missed the only female running the course making it passed the dice. I thought for sure if she made it to the second one which was 50 lbs there was no way she could do it. Proved me wrong lol. I'm rooting for the wolf pack and Meghan to make it. I saw a video of Drew Dreschel teaching a guy the salmon ladder made of nothing but wood. I suck at construction so we'll see what happens.
Did you catch it last night? Seems like they're making the courses a lot harder. Next week should be a great one with a lot of the vets competing. I'm in the process of getting the salmon ladder built. Just waiting on the aluminum. If the deal falls through I may just use wood. I've seen several that seemed pretty good.
There's so much more to talk about! I'll have to pick this conversation back up tomorrow, ugh. I'll be off again on Wednesday though, so we can also talk more then for sure. I wound up thinking that Avallac'h was such a good character too. I loved his look, his voice and his old Elven Sage personality. I really though he betrayed us at the end, and was so mad lol. But then when Ciri explained what was happening, I understood. I really like those old Elves in the game, even the Wild Hunt ones that you have to fight. They just looked amazing, especially their super pronounced cheekbones and their eyes. Ugh, so much to take in with that game!
Gosh Bigg, now I kind of want to pick it back up when I entered the Isle of Mists and do it all over! I might do that, I'm thinking about it now lol. And oh that gif you sent me, what a sad moment!
Gosh, well I'm on my way to work now so I'll write you more tomorrow. I don't want to go, I want to keep talking and thinking about the Witcher lol! I'm going to be thinking about it all night on shift lol. It's so sad, but for Ciri's sake, I think you got the best ending. It's so sad though, because Witchers are indeed a dying breed and they seem to be dying out with no new ones being initiated either.
But I've been thinking about it, and I agree. I think your ending is the right ending for Ciri and in a way, the best ending for the game. To see her becoming the Empress, to lead in a strong but fair way, would do the greater good for the most people. Everyone would love her and the world would change for the better. The one I got, having her taking contracts and killing monsters for the rest of her life, not to mention living on the road with little money to her name... I think she's better than that. That's not a life for someone as beautiful and smart and strong as her. She is a Child of The Elder Blood, for crying out loud lol. She is destined for greatness, and for much more greatness than a life on the Path as a Witcher could provide. Now I'm kind of sad, where last night I was happy with my ending, thinking her and Geralt were together... Ciri deserves better, I think.
Oh gosh, I viewed that video of your ending, and it's so different! I never got any of that, I guess because I didn't go and take Ciri to the Emperor first then? I didn't even know that. I'd read in CDPR's forums a while back about the choices you can make with Ciri to make her happy, like the snowball fight and destroying Avallac'h's lab with her, so when she wanted to go to Velen and I had the option to go or say we need to go see Emhyr first, I said ok let's go to Velen because I didn't know if that would make her unhappy.
