Nah. They're spread out in the tunnels you go through to get the thing you need to heal Alyx. There are none until after she gets poisoned. There are a slight few you get AFTER she's healed, but the majority of them (At least 300) are while you're with the vortigaunt. Just use the guide and you should be fine. Any problems understanding it, ask me. I had a couple bumps here and there, but it worked itself out at the end.

Awesome. I got Flamethrower.. I was shocked. I mean, I had been trying for a couple games, but when I finally got it.. it all happened at once. I found a group of enemies that were crouching behind a rock trying to set up an attack and I just went AHHH! *Hold right trigger.* The achievement popped up and I was quite confused as to how that was 5 people. I think you either might be able to set the same person on fire twice.. or I had done it fast enough that I had just set a couple people on fire shortly before that? All the other ones, yea.. I need those too.

I did the gnome and the bugs (I'm assuming you mean the Antlion grubs) at the same time. If you go by what I told you to do and leave the gnome with Alyx, you won't have the gnome with you at all while you kill the grubs. You'll kill the last grub before you have to pick up the gnome again.

As for Ninja Gaiden, chapter 11 is certainly not basic.. it's the hardest chapter I've been to thus far. All the ninja I'm fighting.. every single one of them.. keeps trying to kamikaze me. Normally it'll be when they're missing an arm, but no.. not these guys. They ALL try to do it ALL the time. It's not so bad once you get used to it, but they like being 'cheap' and grabbing me as I land from an Izuna Drop (can't move for a moment and they just stand exactly where I'm gonna be). Regardless, I have so much health and essence, that I'll be able to get through this without much hassle.. minus the fact that I have work and no time to play with all the distractions (Halo and L4D with people).

Speaking of which.. are you on now? Or are you not home? I hate how you always bring up Nothing Special while I'm playing Ninja Gaiden.. It makes me want to stop playing and put L4D in.

Takes as little as 20 minutes if you're not glitching, but how can I be sure you'll even be a help to me? Do you have only 2 other people playing with you? I'll be the last person if that's what you need, but I'll be done after you get that.

Oh yea.. great. That takes like 5 minutes and is actually fun and somewhat challenging. You want me to play a game that takes for.. ev.. er and you don't even need help in it.

Hmm yes i see.. So how does Time Trial work? Does it tell you what Time you need for Gold / Silver / Bronze? or is it just .. get to the end of the stage ASAP and hope you get gold? I think i'm going to be most confused on the fewest portals. I might just youtube all those and see exact placements. Also might youtube fewest steps.. i think the challenge will be the time trials.

Don't you wish it were that simple. You CAN do that, yes, but it tends to (or at least seems to) add a couple seconds to your time since it needed to save and load and you weren't really still moving. If you had plenty of time left, then yes.. this will work. But for most cases, you're going to have to start from scratch to try and shave a couple seconds off your time elsewhere.

Just for Portal. I haven't played the game since I completed the challenges, but I do remember LOVING the part in testchamber 18 where you have to launch yourself up then launch yourself over. It gets annoying if you don't do each part successfully on the first try (which you're going to HAVE to do for Least Time).

Honestly, both. I had to watch the videos AND become a beast. Some, of course, are easier than others and can be completed first try (which is why I did the most difficult ones first). Just go to They're all just embedded YouTube videos, but they're all in one spot. There is a way to advance without it counting as any steps, yes, but it requires a lot of work and depending on the situation, you're not always going to be able to do it. Basically putting a portal beneath you doesn't take a step and if you come out of a portal that's on the ground, then shoot a new portal somewhere else, you won't take a step coming out (as long as you didn't fly up into the air very high). It all takes getting used to, though, and that's the 'hard' part. Getting good at all the tricky things is hard enough.. but doing it with a controller.. is even worse. Last tip I can think of: turn your sensitivity all the way up and get used to it like that.
