So we can't dislike the sport for any other reason than it is older and more popular worldwide than ours? Give me a break. I already said in a previous message I don't like it because I find it to be boring. And calling us all fat? That's classy right off the top. You act like you're so much better than Americans, yet you're just as ignorant and rude as you try to explain how your sport and culture is better. You're no better than us (and neither are we better than you), so you need to grow up just as much as some of my countrymen.
Anyway, we'll clearly never see eye to eye on this, and I have a feeling the more we discuss it, you'll continue to insult me and I'll end up banning you, so have a nice day and please move on. If you see anyone flaming your football or being rude in any way, please report them and they will be dealt with, but I'd expect you to do the same for anyone you see flaming ours. Neither culture should be attacked.
See, this elitist attitude is partly why Americans don't like SOCCER in the first place, and why many of of us give Europeans shit for it. I personally think it's boring and hate it, but I love our football. Honestly, I don't see why people like you can't just let us call it what we want and enjoy it or not, and you can call the two sports what you want and enjoy them or not. I never post hating on soccer, and I don't act like a dick to people who enjoy it. No reason you can't do the same.
Edit: Also, the very first play of a football game is the kickoff, which is a ball being kicked by a foot. So there's that, of course.
Why is your football "real" football? Because it was invented first? American football is real to us. Granted, should people be posting ignorant hate? No. But don't think Europeans are innocent and never attack our football in a completely ignorant, rude manner either. I'm sure you've heard the term "hand egg." - Both sides of the pond are guilty of it, and both sides should be punished if the posts are reported.
Calm down, dude. It wasn't personal and the great injustice of the Miami thread has been taken care of. We don't see every thread on the site and unless someone who feels a thread should be locked or deleted reports it, chances are it will likely slip through the cracks unless it gets a lot of posts (which increases the chances of it being in our New Posts function). That got like a dozen over three years, so it never came to our attention. It wasn't the fault of anyone, simply a fluke.
