you don't need to delete it. just to rule the obvious stuff out, you have to pay for gold and for a name change, but im sure you know. you can add a credit card if thats what you mean to pay for gold, but you can also buy it from a shop and you will get a code to redeem if you aren't comfortable with adding a credit card.
sign into your Wolf account, then join xbox live from the dashboard of that account. make sure the bu1let account is completely signed out and not even signed in as a second controller or anything.
Thanks mate. But every time I try and join up, It's showing me bu1Iet account!!! It's pretty frustrating. It keeps wanting to add more credit to that existing profile and won't let me pick Wolf! Maybe I have to delete bu1Iet.
i think i know what you're saying, but im telling you that just changing your gamertag WILL NOT lower or remove your gamerscore. i changed my gamartag about a month ago and my gamerscore did not change at all. i think the guy from support may have misunderstood your concern. or maybe i do, but...
when you join live with the account you want, 'Wolf', then you will be prompted to change your gamertag because it will almost certainly be taken. at this point just change it to something else and then you'll continue to connect to live and keep the account 'Wolf' as it was but with a different gamertag/name.
i assure you that you can keep your account as it is when you decide to go gold, the only change you will have to make is your gamertag/name and that is only because someone will most likely have taken the name 'Wolf' as it sounds cool.
There's two profiles.
1. Bu1Iet- The new one with 1500gp (I don't want this one any more)
2. Wolf- The old one with 15000gp (Always been offline. Want to join live and keep the gamerscore)
Two totally different avatars. I understand I'll have to change Wolf to a name available from the pool. But a guy from support told me when I do this, GS will drop from 15000 to 0 when the gamertag is created.
Man I know I'm not explaining it all that well but I'm trying. And I really appreciate all the help you've given me. I owe you a beer mate.
no thats not true. if you change your gamertag, then that is all that changes. i think you need to be on xbox live to change it, but on your dashboard, press the guide button on your controller, then scroll all the way to the right and click profile. then edit profile, then gamertag. you will then be able to change your gamertag while keeping the rest of your profile intact. i think you will need to be on xbox live before you can do this though.
Cheers for the help Scotty. But the thing is, my original profile has never been used for live.
I can deal with a new GT. That's not a worry. I'll just join Live all over again if need be. But I just heard from xbox support that if I do this, all my Achievements and GP revert back to "0" once the name is replaced with a new GT. So the 15000gp (Low compared to you guys I know, but hey ya gotta start somewhere) that I accumulated from playing offline all these years doesn't carry accross???
To answer your below question, no you cannot just sort of combine the 2 profiles. Your only option, would be to change the GT of the newest profile to something else, then change the old profiles GT to the one you want. This at a cost of 800msp for each name change, although you may have a free name change for your new account, but im not sure.
Just say I created a new Profile for my new console after the old one blew up. This profile has the GT bu1Iet. Today I DL my old profile from the old HD with a transfer cable. Is it possible to use that profile (which has never been used for Live) with my new GT?
Thanks for your help team.
