Bio Formula/Blueprint/Chalkboard/Note Locations Guide

Singularity Collectibles Guide

This guide is meant to help you get all the collectible-type achievements in the game. Expained below are descriptions of what they are and how to use the guide. If you die or reload your checkpoint, make sure you get the collectibles again. When deciding on spending your money, you will have enough to upgrade a lot of things but may be short on buying everything. If you really explore, you'll find up to 75,000 E99 tech (the money), as long as you have the upgarde that gives you double the money sometimes. You can follow the video or written guide below, or use both. They compliment eachother, as I wrote the guide while also creating the videos. They are all in order. TMD Blueprints may not be the same as the ones I list, they seem random for various playthroughs.

Color/Info Key

Chalkboards (green): There are a total of 10 chalkboards that you must revert (pressing :lbbut: on). In the game, however, there are more than 10, (15 from my stats review and I stopped getting them after a while) so if you miss a couple, you're not out of luck. I got the achievement after reverting 12, so I assume it's either somewhat based on the time period you're in, or maybe I died and didn't revert the chalkboard again, thus missing it.

Chrono-Notes (aqua): There are a total of 15 that you must find. There are more than just 15 in the game (at least 25 total) and you use :lbbut: again to revert them. They are almost always very obvious.

Bio Formulas(red): There are only 10 in the game. One of them in particular (number 9) does not show up in the same spot for everyone. Described in the guide is the alternate location, to guarantee you don't miss anything. After collecting them all, you must upgrade/buy them in the Hero Perks section of an upgrade machine. There must be 10 different ones upgraded besides the weapon upgrade which actually doesn't count.

TMD Blueprints (blue): Much like the Bio Formulas, there are a total of 5 that you must find and upgrade at a machine. Listed in the guide are a total of 7 locations, though possibly there are more in the game. Though you can find these using my list, the ones you pick up might differ from what I list.

Misc Achievements (purple): There are 2 specific achievements that are listed as collectibles because they are in specific locations and it's possible to pass them by.

Weapon Upgrades: There are a few weapon upgades listed in the guide within other descriptions, but you will easily find enough to fully upgrade a weapon for the achievement "Fully Armed". I found a total of 22 of the weapon tech upgrade boxes, and you can even buy one in the Hero Perks list. You will need 9 total to fully upgrade a weapon.

GUIDE

Chalkboard (1/12), Chrono-Note Note (1/15), Chalkboard (2/12)

During Objective: Use TMD on 1950's Time Rift in the Lab
When you first get your TMD glove you'll be in an area with a film archive. The chalkboard is in that main area right above the desk. The note is on the redish looking chalkboard to the right of the desk. The note will say "Find Barisov". Head down the stairs on the left of this area and you'll see it in the middle of two other chalkboards (that you can't use TMD on).

Chalkboard (3/10)

During Objective: Save Dr. Barisov
After seeing an execution about to happen to some scientists and shooting the shooters, run on the catwalk and a door will open. A scientist will be shot over the rail. Kill the enemies in the hallway and the room on the right has a chalkboard in it.

(Chalkboard 4 /12)

During Objective: Escort Dr. Barisov to the Lab
After obtaining the Seeker gun and traveling to the next area, you'll come to a room with more enemies and a propane tank (it's small). The next hallway has 2 propane tanks. The door on the right of that hallway is called C-2. Enter it and go left where there's a film archive. Next to the door you can exit out of, is the chalkboard.

Bio Formula: (1/10) Heartiness

During Objective: Make Your Way to Dr. Barisov's Tower
After traveling to 2010 from Dr. Barisov's lab, you will see a TV in front of you. The small left desk has a Bio Formula on it that looks like a little open book.

Bio Formula (2/10) Iron Lung

During Objective -Make your way to Dr. Barisov's Tower
You will find an upgrade for your TMD that allows you to move objects. Once you get this you can move the first big object you see on the ground which is blocking your route. Go down this hole and follow the path to the end, where you can grab the Bio Formula.

TMD Blueprint (1/7) Scientist

During Objective -Make your way to Dr. Barisov's Tower
You'll come to an area where you have to move a box out of your way, then use that box to jump onto a caged area, and then jump to the next floor. There is a furnace with fire coming out of it, and a gruesome scene of dead soldiers in this area. Instead of going up to the next floor, jump on the platform to the right.

Chalkboard (5/12), Chalkboard (6/12), Chrono-Note Note (2/15)

During Objective: None, during destroyed building
You will take an elevator up and see a big blue creature for the first time. You'll see him again but some helicopters show up and he leaves. As you make your way to the blue door, instead of entering go right and to your immediate right is a small room with 2 chalkboards. Also to the left of the door entrance is a note.

Chalkboard (7/12), Chrono-Note Note (3/15)

During Objective: None, during destroyed building
Continue on until you come face to ugly face with the big blue guy. Shoot him to make him go away. Instead of exiting out of that destroyed wall, continue on inside and your first left door has a chalkboard and a note.

Chalkboard (8/12)

During Objective: None, during destroyed building
From the above room, head out and to your left. Ignore the door on the right for now and continue straight on until you get to the room with the chalkboard inside.

Chrono-Note Note (4/15)

During Objective: None, during destroyed building
From the above room, now you go to the double doors on the left after backtracking. Go to the room with tons of lock boxes and it's above the desk in that room.

BioFormula (3/10) Energetic

During Objective: None, after destroyed building above
Now you can make your way outside through the hole in the wall. Fight off all of the soldiers. Once you go up the little stairs and see the bigger stairs
on your left, walk to the start of the boxes that you're supposed to go up to
continue on. Instead of jumping up, turn around and the formula is in the right in the corner.

Chrono-Note (5/15), Chrono-Note Note (6/15)

During Objective: Enter Dr.Borisov's Tower
You will drop down from a hole in a wall and see a pit in front of you and a fence. Travel to the fence ahead of you and read the note on the wall. You can also get this after Note 6 if you wanted. Now go back to the fence that has a box behind it. Use the box to jump over this fence and head into the room. To the left is a door and lockers and right by the lockers is a note. This is where you use the box to reach the ladder.

Bio Furmula (4/10) Inventory

During Objective: Enter Dr.Borisov's Tower
You will be with Kathryn defending yourselves against an onslaught of the Zek (blue phase enemies). They will be climbing a fence and there is an unlimited amount of them. Right before the exit elevator (don't go in until you get this) there is a formula you will want to grab in the left corner opposite the elevator.

Tyger7 08-29-2010 11:39 AM

Chrono-Note (7/15), Chrono-Note (8/15)

During Objective: Escape the Sewers
When you finally get up the ladder after tons of the tickers most likely have been killing you (run and use the deadlock in front/behind you as you run). Go up the ladder and it's easy to see on the left. Continue up the second ladder and you'll see the next just as easily.

Bio Formula (5/10) Stamnia

During Objective -Meet Barisov in the Control Tower
After encountering the giant screature (but not fighting it), you will make your way to another fan and then will climb up a small ladder through the square opening. Look left and you'll see see the formula on a box before going through the door.

Bio Formula (6/10) Medic

During Objective -Meet Barisov in the Control Tower
After grabbing the last Bio Formula, move through the blue door and it's on the corner of the desk in front of you.

TMD Blueprint (2/7) Search and Destroy

During Objective -Get to Docks and Find the Train
After the lift part where you first see the Spikeshot weapon, you'll enter a building and encounter a new enemy that vanishes after jumping at you. Look to the right in the next room for this blueprint.

Chrono-Note (9/15), Chrono-Note (10/15)

During Objective: Get to Docks and Find the Train
As you make your way through the sewers and encounter the new enemy called Reverts, you'll notice these as you make your way to the exit, very hard to miss.

Chrono-Note (11/15), Chalkboard (9/12)

During Objective -Get to the Docks and Find the Train
After you meet up with Kathryn and have to defend her while she's on the ground and you're on a catwalk, you will eventually need to drop down a hole in the floor and find these among other items. The note is on the ground.

Chrono-Note (12/15 )

During Objective: Rescue Kathryn
As you chase after the people who grabbed Kathryn, heading up some small stairs you'll notice this on the wall.

TMD Blueprint (3/7) Engergize

During Objective: Rescue Kathryn
At the final moments of chasing after Kathryn, you'll find yourself in a room with a few enemies taking cover. On the left of this room is a door (lots of glass windows) and inside that room you'll find the blueprint.

Bio Formula (7/10) Defensive , Bio Formula (8/10) TMD Ammo

During Objective: Get to the Docks
These 2 are both right after you untie Kathryn from the chair after saving her during a slow motion scene. Right when you exit the room she was captive in, you'll notice a door on your left which contains both Bio Formulas.

Chalkboard (10/12)

During Objective: Locate the Pearl
When you arrive at your destination after defeating the giant creature on the train, head to where the footsteps first lead you and it's up the stairs to your right.

Chrono-Note (13/15)

During Objective: Locate the pearl
Continue on and go up the broken stairs, then revert them. Cross through and out the broken window and grab the box. You may wish to use it first to get to the catwalk and from there jump to get the weapon upgrade on the far back train car. After you are done with that, put it under the big garage type door and revert it so you can open it. Straight ahead is the note.

Bio Formula (9/10)

During Objective: Locate the Pearl
You will soon have to grab a box out of the phase and use it to climb over a fence. Once you've started going up the stairs, turn around before the second batch of orange plant traps are and it's in the corner on the right. (Important: The formula may or may not appear in this location. If it's not there, it's because it's instead in a completely different level that you'll get to later. If this is the case, the next formula will be number 9 for you).

Chrono-Note (14/15)

During: Objective: Locate the Pearl
You'll come into a room with those weird orange plant traps and the door will
shut behind you. Just as you make your way and turn you'll notice the note.

Chrono-Note (15/15)

During Obective: None but before you've located the Pearl
As you make your way on a catwalk high above the docks, you'll come down some stairs and see it on the inside of a train car that has a Seeker in it. If you have gotten all of the Chrono-Notes listed in this guide, you should get the achievement "Pen Pal". This is not the last note, there are more, so don't worry if you missed one. They will not be pointed out anymore in this guide but are still easy to find.

TMD Blueprint (4/7) Wrapper

During Objective: Restore Power to the TMD Amplification Platform
After you had picked up the Seeker, you would have gone back in time to 1955 and used it and killed a bunch of enemies. While there also go up the left side and up the ladder in the roo to grab a weapon upgrade. Once you're back in 2010, face the platform that has the switch. Go right of it and down two steps and you'll see the TMD on a box.

TMD Blueprint 5/7

DuringObjective: Restore Power to the TMD Amplification Platform
Follow the footsteps into a building with a ladder leading down. There's water down there and there's lots of rust. Right next to the ladder before going down is the upgrade. Also there's a weapon upgrade in the water halfway to your objective. You have enough blueprints now to get the achievement "Time's on My Side". I have listed 2 additional blueprints in case you have missed one.

Misable Achievement: "Mother My Brain Hurts"
While in the Pearl, you will come to a room where you must duck under through a vent and revert a power panel. You will see a new weapon called the Dethex Launcher. What you'll want to do is grab the weapon (make sure you do this before pulling the switch where the footprints are) and hold :lt:. Not press :rt: and launch the ball into the hole where the gun was. Move through the maze controlling the ball with your :rs: and pressing :abut: to make it jump. Once you get it to the other side of the maze, move it so that it goes under the door where you can't enter. Let go of :LT: and it will explode. Now go revert the note inside the room.

Bio Formula (9/10 or 10/10) Armor

During Objective: Locate Rear Cargo Bay
If you didn't find Bioformula 9 in the previous location, then this will be number 9 for you. If you did find it, this will be your 10th and last one. As you progress insde the Pearl you will come to a scene where a ghost is banging on the door wanting to escape. After that scene is over, progress through that door and you'll see a weapon upgrade and a weapon station on your right. Go through the next door leading to a hallway and go inside the very first room on your left. It's on the bed.

Chalkboard 12/12

During Objective: Locate Rear Cargo Bay
As you make your way through the boat you'll see a scene where a ghost runs into a doorway and closes it. When that scene is over, the door is once again open. Before heading left, go straight through that opening and look to your right for the chalkboard. You may already have the achievement "Stay After Class" by now, but if you didn't for some reason, you will get it here. If you have missed any that have been listed in this guide, you will find more thoughout the game.

TMD Blueprint (6/7) Healer

During Objective: Escape from the Pearl Before it Sinks
When you get out of the water and are running, before you go up the first set of stairs, its on the wall to the left of them.

TMD Blueprint (7/10) Field Doctor

During Objective: Locate a Gas Mask
When you get to the area you're supposed to get a gas mask, inside the room with the hole that leads to the gas area has a locker with this in it.

Bio Formula (10/10 Alternate)

Duing Objective: Get activation code from Dr. Petrov
A long ways through the story you'll be asked to get a code. After crossing a part where you see tons of enemies on a bridge and you have to go on a lift type rail, you'll eventually get to a time rift. Go through it and you'll see a giant blue glowing sphere. Make your way to the objective and in that same room with the switch you have to pull, is the last Bio Formula on a work counter. (Important: This is the alternate location for the first Bio Formula 9 mentioned. If it's not there it's because you already have all 10).

Misable Achievement: "That Wheel?"
On the last level you'll come to an objective to "Find Barisov's Lab". You'll run into a TMD upgrade machine and behind it, a vent. This upgrade machine is pointed out by your objective marker when you press :ddown:. Shoot the vent and go down and investigate the end of that area for this achievement.

Hope this lwill essen the stress while going through the game!

bs000 08-31-2010 11:59 PM

I think the TMD blueprint you get is random. The locations are right, but they're unlocking in a totally different order for me. I think some of the hero upgrades may be in different order too, depending on where your 9th/10th is. I didn't get TMD ammo until location #9. I started panicking, thinking I had missed one. My 8th one was Forge.

edit: I just got to TMD blueprint #4, I went to the location in the video, but it's not there in my game :( Oh well, after getting the next one, I have enough for the achievement.

Glad I listed 7 of them just in case!

Thanks for this guide, it helped a ton! Some of my items were out of order, but still got everything.

MrFresh 09-04-2010 09:51 PM

You missed a blueprint between
Bio Formula (6/10) Medic
<-TMD Blueprint -Scientist- beside the weapon upgrade before you go down to fix the crane.
TMD Blueprint (2/7) Search and Destroy

TMD Blueprint (2/7) Search and Destroy

It looks like the blueprints are random as far as what they give you. If someone else can confirm that there is a TMD that exists before my 2/7 I would like to add that so there'd be a total of 8 upgrades. Not that I don't believe you, but since this game seems random, I would like to know if someone else found it there too.

Thanks once again :-). You always make collectibles easy. Oh and congratz on the 200K GS.

I can vouch for MrFresh's claim that the Scientist TMD Blueprint is missing before TMD Blueprint 2/7 "Search and Destroy". Otherwise, this guide is dead on so far and has been VERY helpful. When you're walking towards the hatch Barisov is holding open for you go left and it's on a table against the glass wall. Bottom line: Don't go down the hatch until you check the room out.

I'm lucky I was taking this part slow and explored a bit...nothing like a second playthrough because of one item....although, I may have missed Iron Lung.

Well, I guess I can vouch for random placement of these items too. I just got the Iron Lung and Defensive Bio Formulas right after saving Kathryn (hard playthrough). They were literally 6 inches away from each other on a stove in the room you enter after cutting her loose.

WeemanNewYork 11-02-2010 03:38 PM

Thank for guide and video.

Yungblaknhansum 11-04-2010 12:44 AM

I also found the blueprint that mr fresh is talking about.

Damage 01-13-2011 11:33 AM

First AMAZING guide. The video link didn't work for me, but if you just search for it on youtube it is still there.

A little NOTE -

Hi I followed your guide 100% and this did not show up, 'TMD Blueprint (3/7) Engergize'. However I believe the Blueprints are random and I did get the Scientist blueprint from next to the weapons case as mentioned above (which is missing from the guide). I also DO have this blueprint, further proving that some of the blueprint types are random.

I followed your guide exactly and checked every few checkpoints my states and every achievement popped exactly where they do in your video. So I believe that you need 12 chalkboards for it to count, even though it states in the stats that I had 10/10. I think 2 of them donít count (I did each twice, and re-did each again when I died, so didn't miss any).

Oh and there appears to be a lot of Chrono-Notes on the Pearl, which you cannot miss (for those who missed the first few).

cheifjordan 01-21-2011 09:31 PM

Awesome Guide dude, got everything on the first playthrough....

Great job on the guide. Thanks for putting some extra things to find in case you accidentally missed one. Good thinking.

As a note, this was #15 for me so there are a few missing - if I ever do a Hard playthrough I'll not down where they are.

Great guide as always, Tyger - you make collectibles easy :p

Another Chrono-note

Not sure if anyone else has found or mentioned it, but there is a chrono-note after Bio-Formula 1. After you grab Formula 1, head down 2 flights of stairs and look for a sign that says C-3 on the wall. Hard to miss the sign as it's in your face as you turn the corner following the stairs. To the left of the sign is the chrono-note, which is quite easy to pass over if you aren't paying attention.

Great Guide, helped a lot. One thing, you're missing Chalkboard 11 in the written guide. It's in the video but not here.
