Artisan of the Aesir, Blood of Heralds & Rune Lore
Okay the guide description doesn't really say this and I did a search but couldn't find anything so at risk of creating a pointless or redundant thread...

I know kills carry across the playthroughs, but do stats for all achievements that require X number of whatevers?

The ones in particular I'm curious about are Artisan of the Aesir, Blood of Heralds & Rune Lore.

With all my various characters I've been collecting runes like mad, and crafting everything I get my hands on when I have the funds. But still no dice. Across three playthroughs and online I could have sworn I'd have taken down 100 leaders by now too.

Like charms, do you have to do these with only one character or are they tallied across all playthroughs and characters?

Thanks on this.

EDIT: If I do HoH again after Jack of All Trades my head is going to explode.

I would hazard a guess and say that all stats carry across, but I am not 100%.

Regardless, none of those achievements really need grinding to get, they will all come from trying to get the complete elite set, unless of course you have been ridiculously lucky and got your full set in a small amount of gameplay time.

Specifically however, you might be surprised at how much stuff you have NOT crafted. I thought I would be close also but ended up crafting ~20 items in a row and it popped (I was sick of looting).

And yeh runes, 1000 is a lot of runes, just keep playing and it will pop. Particularly if you do world tree runs to get decent level 3 charms.

Haha thanks... Was starting to wonder. I must be getting close but it is getting to be a boring grind with only 4 real mission levels to fight through. I'm only at level 35 or so, if I hit 50, I'm going to need a vacation!

That being said, I did another run through of HoH last night...and yes my head almost exploded. :p

Best advice I can give you is to try and max out your loot drop chance and exp bonus (both max at 15% I think). Once you have that sorted, spider farming with the GRNDL glitch makes grinding up to 50 go quite fast, and you will get a tonne of good loot aswell, set your auto salvage to whatever level you need and you will rake in the cash also. But be aware that if you want that elite set, you will be grinding that spider long after you reach level 50. It just means you can spend more time at 50, thereby increasing your chances of getting red gear.

Sah-weet and thanks for all the tips!

I've been finding loot drop and xp runes are hard to come by...keep getting ones for duel-wielding and other class-specific/alignment stuff my human commando is not LOL!!!

Oh, and I was indeed very close and you were right. Got 100 leaders and 100 blueprints last night but it definitely wasn't with the one character I was using as I don't think I'd done that many with it yet. Ended up spamming about ~10 low-cost blueprints when clearing my inventory and it unlocked.

Went from 36 to 43 last night with little effort, might as well do 50 and I somehow managed Unstoppable Hellheim while doing a private co-op match which I never thought would happen due to the crazy number of enemies. The game has already been throwing level 50 enemies at me. Crazy.

Also try and knock off all your unstoppables before you reach level 50. Ice forest will likely be the only one to give any trouble due to the goblins that are ballistic resistant. It gets much harder past 50, even during offline campaign. Assault goblins tear you to shit.

Opiate42 11-05-2010 03:44 AM

HAHA already been discovering that. Ice Forest I almost managed but got greedy and jumped into the middle of a crowd when I shouldn't have. If it wasn't for that I would have it...ugh. You're right about the goblins, those green bastards are tough.

World Serpent is my bane. I can survive the whole level no problem but the Uber-Troll at the end always demolishes me so easily.

Pootcrum 11-05-2010 05:42 AM

Ah ok. WS was the first one I got. I guess it depends on which path you took down the skill tree (I think I remember you saying you were a Human Comm?), I followed the Cyber Comm guide on here (loosely) and went the Smoothbore battlecry. It was useful for Everlasting Hate as I could keep all the melee goblins at bay whilst wittling away at the trolls armor.

And yeh greed will get you killed in Ice Forest, distance is king for the commando. The only time I jump into the middle of a pack (when not forced to by the jump pads) is when I am going to unleash a ruiner or sentient weapon.

Achievement requirements only count from one character, not every single character created. So say you need to get the 7,500 item drops, you need to get 7,500 item drops with one character. I can confirm that this is how the system is set.

Pootcrum 11-05-2010 05:52 AM

Well it is definitely not the case for ALL of the achievements then, because I have the 20,000 kills achievement, with only ~17000 on my Cyber Commando, the rest of my characters bring it up over 20,000. I also got a couple of kills achievements with my Berserker on his first run through HoH. No way he killed enough to get them.

EDIT: But on reading again you may be referring to ONLY the rune etc achievements?? Yeh nevermind my rambling....

Opiate42 11-08-2010 03:21 PM

Thanks, I'll dip back in with my lvl 50 human commando to continue the loot droppage and rune collection since that one's likely the farthest along, have a few tier 3 charms to work on too. It's getting a bit tedious though LOL!!

My "AAARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHH" level just went up a notch or two last night.

I decided to try a whole other approach to Unstoppable Ice Forest. There's the one circular platform with two Trolls and a buttload of green goblin bastards, many of whom have the back-mounted guns.

I ALWAYS die there. Without fail. I figured if I can get past that I should be okay. So I fired up a new cybernetic Bio-engineer, racked up his health, armour and regen as much as I could that early in the game, equipped a laser for the fire-bomb grenades that do wonders clearing crowds, and played keep-away on that platform to regen any time I got too low on health and I got through that patch with a few scars but without dying. Success! (?)

Got to Hod death-free and took him down also without dying...and it glitched me. No unlock. ARGH!!!!

So I switched to Dead Space. LOL!!! Needed a break from this game.

I'd started the "Overpowered Slug Commano" route with my last open character slot, but am only at lvl 23 or so, not yet unstoppable enough haha.

Will pick away at all this, but definitely need a break from the grind! Never realized when I fired up the game the first time I'd end up enjoying it enough to grind at all!
