Achievement Guide

This is my achievement guide for Armored Core 4. I also posted it in the "writing an achievement guide..." but no one probably knows that one is done. So, I hope that everyone enjoys it. Also, I'll still be taking any advice that can change the guide and make it better. Of course, you'll be credited for your input.

Thanks

Armored Core 4 Achievement Guide

First thing that im going to do on the guide is write down the Mech specifications that I used during the missions and data packs. I will be giving each a name and also be stating which ones I used for each mission. But before trying to build a mech, just purchase one of the mech options in the beginning, and use it to unlock more parts and earn some money. Alright, some of you may not have some of the parts I used, that is because they have to be unlocked by obtaining an S-Rank on certain missions, but of course, if anyone feels they can improve on these mechs, than go ahead. For the first Mech, I'll list the body parts,Boosters,Stabilizers, and FRS. But not on the second or third ones because it's all the same except for a couple weapon changes. Also, some of this may seem confusing, so if thats the case, let me know what's confusing you and I'll try to make it more clear.
BurnOgoto: BODY:HEAD:Salaux. CORE:Salaux. ARMS:Salaux LEGS:047AN04(Biped Legs). FCS:LAURA. GENERATOR:GAN01-SS-G.
BOOSTERS: MAIN:MB107-POLARIS. BACK:BB103-SCHEAT. SIDE:Holofernes or S02-001-EGA OVER:KB-Judith
WEAPONS: R ARM:ER-0200. L ARM:ER-0200. R BACK:OGOTO. L BACK:OGOTO. SHOULDER:None. R HANGAR:None. L HANGAR: None
STABILIZERS: AUTO
FRS: Can either do what you think is good for the mech, or this is what I did- MAX OUT EN OUTPUT, EN CAPACITY, HORIZONTAL THRUST, VERTICAL THRUST, QUICK THRUST ON MAIN & SIDE, & EN Attack- Than can dump the rest on EN Weapon Skill or Armor.
BurnMoon: WEAPONS: R ARM:07-MOONLIGHT. L ARM:07-MOONLIGHT
BurnSirius: WEAPONS: L BACK:HLC02-SIRIUS. R BACK:HLC02-SIRIUS
Okay, now that you know what mechs to own, I'll be now listing each chapter along with the missions in each chapter. Plus I'll be including the way to beat the missions on Normal and Hard difficulties, and what mech to use for the mission. Again, if anyone is confused by any of this, please let me know so I can help clear it up for you.
CHAPTER 1: 20GAwarded for completing Chapter 1
First Strike: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, hit both bumpers to switch to the Ogoto's on your back. Than fly over the first city section, than over the water with the bridge. Right at the end of the bridge is 3 enemy Normals. Use the Ogoto's to destroy the 3 Normals with ease. On Hard, there will be 6 enemy Normals to deal with, but once again the Ogoto's are the weapons to use.
CHAPTER 2: 30G Awarded for completing Chapter 2
Swarm of Red Eyes: Use the BurnSirius mech.
-When the mission starts, boost forward a bit to get closer to the swarms. Once the Swarms are close enough to lock on to, blast them with the ER-0200 rifles until you are out of ammo, than switch tothe Sirius cannons to finish them up if needed. On Hard, there will be lots more swarms and 5 flying drones, but still pretty easy mission.
Elimination: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, there will be enemy drones on the room in front of you. Just start destroying them with either the ER-0200's or OGOTO's. Once done with the first room, go to the second room to finish up the rest of the drones. On Hard, there will be drones along with enemy Normals equipped with BIGSOUX, so be careful to dodge even though there's not much room. But again, just use the ER-0200's in the first room than sit back and fire Lamia backmount AS missiles into second room from first with out going in to destroy all enemies.
Dangerous Waters: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, you'll be falling down a shaft, switch to your OGOTO's when falling. Also, be sure to use booster to avoid contact with the waters because they are littered with mines. Once down far enough, you'll see a big room with 4 enemy Normals to destroy. Just shoot them with the OGOTO's and that's it. On Hard, there are 5 enemy Normals to destroy , but just use the OGOTO's again and this mission is done.
Operation Descent: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, you'll be falling toward a structure that you'll need to go into. First, switch to the OGOTO's while falling, than when you get closer to the structure, Lasers will start to fire up at you. Just boost and dodge until you are inside the structure, and once inside there will be 3 enemy Normals to destroy. Just blow them up with the OGOTO's to finish them up with no effort. On Hard, there will be more Lasers shooting up at you, just boost and dodge again. Plus, there are 5 enemy Normals to destroy, but again, the OGOTO's are the weapon to use.
Sharpshooting: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the OGOTO's on your back while boosting and dodging the incoming laser. Now boost over to the 3 ground targets shooting the big blue lasers at you and destey them with the OGOTO's. On Hard, do the same as on Normal, but now there now will be 5 ground targets to destroy.
Bald-Dora: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, fly through the canyon while either avoiding or destroying the enemy cannons on the way to the main objectives of 6 enemy Normals. Once you reach the end where there's a building, along with the 6 Normals, 2 are on the ground, 4 on the building, use the OGOTO's to destroy the Normals. On Hard, It's the same as the Normal difficulty, just that the enemies do more damage. So, be careful and efficient and it should be easy.
SandStorm Citadel: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, use the radar to locate the enemy base where the nuclear missiles are that you have to destroy. All you got to do do boost and dodge directly over to the big red for on the radar to get to the nuclear missiles quickly, just ignore all the enemies. Once you find the base, destroy the nuclear missiles with the OGOTO's. On Hard, there will an enemy NEXT, but just ignore the NEXT and go straight to the nuclear missiles at the base and destroy with the OGOTO's.
Desert Wolf: Use the BurnSirius mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the Sirius cannons and boost over to the buildings. Once the NEXT is in the area, shoot it with the Sirius cannons to destroy it with little effort. On Hard, do the same thing as on Normal difficulty, but after you destroy the first NEXT, another NEXT will come to the area. Just shoot and destroy the second enemy NEXT with the Sirius cannons and it should be destroyed in no time.

CHAPTER 3: 30G Awarded for completing Chapter 3
Aerial Interdiction: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, Use the ER-0200's to shoot down the 8 transport helicopters(they are the bigger helicopters). There will also be 4 or 5 fling normals shhoting at you, which you can either destroy or ignore, you're choice. Keep shooting the helicopter until the mission says "enemy transport is on the ground and moving quick", look for the train transport on the tracks on the ground to the left from where started on the bridge. Once you see the train, shoot it a few times with the OGOTO's on your back to destroy it. Also, be sure that no transport helicopter get by because you'll fail mission if that happens. On Hard, there will also be an enemy air fortress to destroy also. Just shoot it with the OGOTO's while doding to destroy. Do it quick because the train transport is still on it's way.
Icebreaker Defense: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the OGOTO's and wait till you see a red dot appear on the radar. Once the red dot appears, boost over to it and destroy with once shot from the OGOTO's. Repeat this pattern until all submarines are gone. They appear in the same order and place everytime, so play it a couple of times to get used to where exactly they pop up at. There are only 8 submarines to destroy, so it should be easy to do. On Hard, there will be about 5 flying drones shooting at you, just ignore or destroy, your choice.
Water Gliding: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the OGOTO's and boost to the first ship just beyond the buildings. Than proceed to destroy all the other 3 ships. Just ignore the enemies around you and concentrate on the ships. On Hard, Just do the same as on Normal difficulty, but this time there will be 7 ships to destroy with the OGOTO's.
Might Makes Right: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, destroy the enemy in front of you, than proceed into the first tube. Boost straight up, than half way turn around and go into tunnel. Once you come out of the tunnel, drop straight down and proceed through the tunnel in front of you, but watch out for the enemy with the BIGSOUX equipped. Once get to the end of that tunnel, drop down again and go forward. The last 5 enemy Normals are scatter throughout the tubes and tunnels. On Hard, do the same as on Normal difficulty, but this time there is 9 Normals you have to destroy.
Barbe-Bleue: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the OGOTO's and watch the radar. Whenever you see red dots appear on the map, boost as quick as possible over to the red dot and destroy with the OGOTO's. Just keep doing this pattern until all enemies are gone. On Hard, It's the same as on Normal difficulty. Just remember to be real quick and efficient.
Retaliation: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the OGOTO's and boost over to each enemy group and destroy them with the OGOTO grenades. There will also be a few Normals that fly and boost, plus a couple Normals on a hill shooting missiles. On Hard, There will also be an enemy walking fortress. Just destroy the walking fortress with the OGOTO's and that about it.
A Dark Night's March: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the OGOTO's and boost forward a bit until you find enemies on your radar. There will also be flair's being shot up into the air to help with visibility. Just keep killing enemies until you find an enemy walking fortress, destroy it quickly to end the mission. On Hard, there will be a few more enemies and there are also 2 walking fortress's to destroy.
Up In Flames: Use the BurnSirius mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the Sirius cannons and than just locate the enemy NEXT(he'll be the one boosting and shooting missiles) and melt him with the Sirius cannons. On Hard, it's the same as on Normal difficulty. Just be quick and efficient.
Internal Purge: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the OGOTO's and proceed throught the tunnels to each of the 3 objectives, destroying the enemies along the way. Once you reach one of the objectives, destroy it with the OGOTO's from a distance. Do this for all 3 and that's it. On Hard, It's the same as on normal, but after you destroy the 3rd objective, there will be an enemy NEXT coming from the tunnel that you came from. Just destroy the NEXT with the OGOTO's and that's it.
CHAPTER 4: 50G Awarded for completing Chapter 4
Ego Boost: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the OGOTO's and proceed to destroy the waves of transport helicopters before they drop off the enemy Normals. Continue to do the same for the next 2 waves of transport heilcopters and should be done in no time. If you dont get the helicopters before they drop the Normals, who'll have a little trouble, but just destroy the Normals with the OGOTO's if they are dropped off. On Hard, there will be an enemy NEXT after you destroy the 2nd wave, so be careful and destroy the NEXT with the OGOTO's quickly. Other than that, the mission is pretty simple.
FireFly: Use the BurnMoon mech.
-When the mission starts, boost straight ahead quckly to the air fortress and slice it with the MOONLIGHT Blades to destroy it. The mission is at night so it will be hard to see the air fortress, but should find it pretty easy, especially after it fires missiles and lasers at you. On Hard, Do the same as on Normal difficulty, but would also recommend using some shouldermount Flares to distract the air fortress' missile attacks, than after you destroy the first air fortress, boost back to where you started the mission. Be careful because there will be 3 more air fortress's to destroy with the MOONLIGHT blades. Be careful and boost and dodge because you can be destroyed really quick if not careful.
Operation Ascend: Use the BurnMoon mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the OGOTO's and boost straight into the building and fly straight up. Once get to 1st gate, destroy it with the OGOTO's(shoot the middle of the gate to open quickly). Than proceed until all gates are blown open. On Hard, do the same as on Normal difficulty, but would again recommend the shouldermount Flares to help distract the missile attacks of the air fortress', than after the last gate is blown, there will be 3 air fortress's above you.Just switch to your MOONLIGHT blades and slash them on at a time to end the mission. Be careful of the ground lasers that can shoot you from below.
Line of Defense: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the OGOTO's and proceed to destroy all enemy ground units. Than wait until 4 air unit appear, and destroy them also to finish the mission. On Hard, destroy the ground units. While doing so, an enemy NEXT will show up along with the 4 air units and an air fortress. Destroy the NEXT 1st, than proceed with the air units and air fortress. Just be careful of all the incoming missiles and lasers from the air fortress.
Sea of Blood: Use the BurnSirius mech.
-When the mission starts, boost over to the top of the building and destroy the enemy Normals around you first, along with the fixed cannons from up high. Once done with the Normals and cannons, boost down to the water to destroy the enemy NEXT the Sirius cannons on your back. On hard, do the same as on Normal difficulty, but after you destroy the enemy NEXT, another enemy NEXT will show up. Destroy the 2nd NEXT quickly with the Sirius cannons to end the mission.
The Womb: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the OGOTO's and proceed down the tuunels, destroying the enemies along the way. Proceed through the tunnels until you reach a big room with 3 NEXTS that have some type of expiremental sword weapons. Just destroy the 3 NEXTS with the OGOTO's while avoiding their attacks. On Hard, do the same as on Normal difficulty. There is no real difference between Hard and Normal for this mission.
Empress: Use the BurnSirius mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the Sirius cannons and than boost forward until find the enemy NEXT. Just destroy the NEXT with the Sirius cannons to finish the mission. On Hard, do the same as on Normal difficulty. There is no real difference between Hard and Normal for this mission.
Break the White Lance: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the OGOTO's and proceed to boost and dodge like crazy through the fleets of ships until you reach the White Lance(only white ship in the entire fleet). Than just simply bomb the White Lance with the OGOTO's, one shot for each section of the boat(Back;middle;front) until it's destroyed. On Hard, it's the same as on Normal difficulty, but be careful and boost and dodge like no other until you reach the White Lance and than destroy with the OGOTO's.
Juggernaut: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the OGOTO's and than move back a bit from start point. Wait until the train thing(the juggernaut) breaks through and once it does, start inloading OGOTO's on it while you also are boosting backwards. On Hard, do the same as on Normal diificulty.

CHAPTER 5: 50G Awarded for completing Chapter 5
Unseen Assailant: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, proceed through tunnel till reach end than fall down to next tunnel a bit to the left. Proceed into next tunnel and shoot enemy at other end with the ER-0200 rifles and than go to next tunnel entrance to the right a bit. Once in next room, fly up a little and look left and destroy next target and go back down and into next tunnel. Once in next room, fly up till get to the next two targets than continue flying up till next tunnel. Once in next room, go to tunnel entrance that's just a bit left. Once in final room, destroy last target to finish the mission.. On Hard, it is the same as on Normal difficulty.
Hail of Bullets: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the OGOTO's and than boost forward to first set of enemies on the landing strip in middle of water. Once destroyed, turn to the right and go to the next set of enemies on the second landing strip. Destroy them to finish the mission. On Hard, Do the same as on Normal difficulty, but after you destroy the second group, there will be 2 submarines and 2 ships out in the water that you need to destroy. Just use the OGOTO's to finsh them up.
Silent Avalanche: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the OGOTO's and than boost to the left to destroythe first set of sniper Normals. Than continue to the next group(can follow there shots to get to them) and so on until all 3 groups are destroyed. On Hard, do the same as on Normal difficulty, but after you destroy the last group of enemies, 2 enemy NEXT's will show upto ruin the party. Just show them whose the boss with the OGOTO's and ER-0200's to finish up the mission.
Futile Resistance: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the OGOTO's and proceed to destroy all enemy Normals in area until you reach the bottom where 4 more Normals will be. Destroy them to finish. Just be careful on this mission because the further down you go, the more damage you take from the chemicals in the atmosphere. So be quick about destroying the enemies. On Hard, it is the same as on Normal difficulty, but with a couple more enemies to destroy.
Pillar of Light: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the OGOTO's and than boost like crazy while dodging incoming lasers and missiles and get under the structure to the right where enemies are firing from and blow the dome thats under it to lower's targets shield. Once done with dome and reach the target(big tall structure in middle of area). Destroy the cannons around the center structure. Once cannons are destroyed, use the Ogoto's to blow up the target. On Hard, it will be more difficult to reach the target because of more laser and missiles coming at you, but boost like crazy and do as you did on Normal difficulty to finish the mission.
Sol Dios: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the OGOTO's and than boost forward until you get to the sol dios enemies. Once at the first group of them, fly around at a distance in front of the round part that shoots lasers. Once it starts to charge, blast it with the OGOTO's(use manual aiming by clicking and holding in the left thumbstick for a bit if needed). It should only take about 4 shots to destroy one. Once destroyed, move away quickly because their explosion is pretty big. On Hard, It's the same as on Normal difficulty, but you'll have to destroy one more group because WhiteGlint doesn't do his job.
Jardin De Chavalier: Use the BurnMoon mech.
-When the mission starts, go forward to the door in front of you and start slashing at it right away. Doing this should kill the enemy NEXT before you even see it. If it don't happen, than switch to the OGOTO's and start blasting the NEXT. On Hard, it's the same as on Normal difficulty.
Marche Au Supplice: Use the BurnSirius or BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to either the Sirius or OGOTO's(whichever you choose) and than boost to the first enemy NEXTS and start firing away with your back weapons. Be sure to be quick and efficient with each NEXT. On hard, there will be no help with the NEXT's, but here's the way I did it. Not sure it it works all the time but is you stay neat the edge of the combat area where it says "Limit of Area" on the screen, stay there flying around because the NEXT's just flew around, away from me. Than came up one at a time as i got closer to them. Than use the OGOTO's or Sirius cannons along with the ER-0200 rifles to destroy the NEXT's one at a time. If that don't work for you, than just try to boost and dodge like crazt while blasting the NEXT's.
Bitter Obligations: Use the BurnOgoto mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the Ogoto cannons and proceed to blow up the metal pillars holding up the building. Once all the pillars are destroyed, get away from the building because it comes crashing down. On Hard, it will be difficult to shoot the pillars with the enemy NEXT shooting at you, so use the Ogoto cannons to destroy the NEXT first. Than proceed with the pillars, but be careful of the boats that also shoot at you.
CHAPTER 6: 100G Awarded for completing Chapter 6
Seed A Barren Earth: Use the BurnSirius mech.
-When the mission starts, switch to the Sirius cannons and proceed to shoot up the mysterious NEXT. Just boost and dodge it's fire power and it should be destroyed in no time. On Hard, do the same as on Normal difficulty, but after you destroy the mysterious NEXT, another enemy NEXT will show up. Just do the same to the second NEXT and you should be finished with the mission.

Even though this is posted, I'll still be taking any advice that is given to me. I'll of course give credit to anyone who's information does help make it easier to get the achievements.
This is an Achievement Guide for Armored Core 4, Written by Despised Icon.
This guide is for use only on the xbox360achievements.org website and if anyone see's this exact guide on any other website, please let me know. THANKS

Nice job. The only thing I would suggest is putting tips for hard (or at least differences).

Despised Icon 06-28-2007 10:26 PM

Thanks, but actually, there is a help part for Hard, it's with the mission's guide. It will say "On Hard, " for each mission. But, if needed, I can add more info about the Hard difficulties, although there isn't much differences between Hard and Normal except for a few more enemies or a NEXT. But, that info is already included with each mission.

Despised Icon 07-02-2007 01:27 AM

Well, I see that a lot of people are looking at my achievement guide, but are not leaving any replies about whether it's helping anyone or not. So Please, let me know if this guide is of any help, and if it's not of any help so that I know to change anything or not.

Thanks

Looks as If I may have to pick this one up. Nice Guide and Keep up the hard work!

deathbypig37x 07-06-2007 04:38 PM

Okay, I'll put any comments I make on your guide right here. But for right now, I'm quite busy so I won't get to it until later. Hope it's good!
Edit:
I see several spelling errors, and I notice that some of your methods on beating the missions are good, but could be better. I'll PM you some specifics. Okay, nevermind despised Icon, I can't send you any private messages. I guess I'll put the stuff here.

One thing I have a serious problem with is the mention of SIRIUS cannons. What are these? If you are referring to KOJIMA Cannons, then say that.

In addition to giving your list of mechs (or instead) give tips on what kind of parts and tuning should be used. Persoanlly, I feel that almost all the ways you described to beat the missions, have a bette and easier way to beat them. For example, instead of using rifles on SWARM OF RED EYES (on normal), it is much, much easier and less costly to use the Shotgun arm parts. On hard, I use shotgun arms, and whatever back weapons. On ELIMINATION,you are too vague. For most people, this will be the last mission to get 'S' rank on hard. One thing you may need to do is change your version of the game based on updates (More on that at the bottom). Anyway, it is much easier on the hard version to use the second most costly rifles on version 1.0, but DO have Ogotto's on your back. The reason for using the mostly costly rifles is that they track very well, and are very accureate. Start by having your very rifles out, and shoot at everything. The rifles will either blow the missiles up in the enemy's face, or will stun the enemy so they can't shoot. In the second room just keep firing at the enemies from a distance away, using your radar to find them. If you run out of rifle ammo, which you shouldn't, then use your Ogotto's on the remaing enemies. OKay, I'm finding a pattern. The mission descriptions are good to beat the missions, but the directions are too vague to gurantee an 'S' rankning on every mission. Here are some tips/ suggestions you may consider:
For all missions where you fight an enemy next:
Desert Wolf(EH)
Up in Flames(EH)
Sea of Blood(EH)
Empress(EH)
Jardin De Chavalier(EH)
Break the White Lance(Not a destroy next mission, but you use same strategy)(EH)
Firefly(Again, not a next mission, but same strategy)(EH)
The Womb(same as above^^^)(EH)
Operation Ascend on HARD(look at FIREFLY/ASCEND tips below)
Marche Au Supplice(EH)
Seed a Barren Earth(EH)
(There are some others that can be used the same way, if chosen)

Missions with "(EH)" next to them, mean to use same strategy on normal and hard.
On ALL of the above missions, the best idea is to use some form of Kojima weapons. In the case of ONE enemy next, or large enemy use the KOJIMA ARM PARTS that are weapons AND arms. When fighting 2-4 nexts/enemies, you should use KOJIMA RIFLES (mainly for Marche Au Supplice). On FIREFLY and ACEND (on hard), you will encounter aeirial fortesses. On Firefly, I suggest using KOJIMA CANNONS. On easy, you only need to shoot once. On hard, you need to land all your shots on the Four Aerial Fortress, and you'll take them down. On ASCEND (HARD), you use KOJIMA CANNONS as well. In this case, have grenade launchers (the least costly) set as your regular weapons. Shoot out the layers with the 'nade launchers. When you get to the top, there will be aerial fortresses. Take them out with you Kojima Cannons.
*When using Kojima weapons, you tap the 'a' and 'x' buttons once, and when they seem fully charged (go practice and see how it looks) they are ready to fire. To fire them simply tap 'a' and 'x' again.

GENERAL TIPS:
These are some tips I didn't see mentioned in your guide. In most cases, the littlest things can improve your progress.
Data Packs: Simple KOJIMA carrying mechs, or a well-constructed missle mech, will breeze you through the data packs.
Extra help on tuning mechs: When trying to get 'S' on a mission, you may notice some attributes are more necessary than others (Speed, defense, aiming). First, learn what is most necessary to your mission, then buy parts respectively according to that. Now to tune:
~To get boost speed up
-Tune as much as you can on EN output, then EN capacity. If you have remaining FRS memory, use the rest on your quick boosting, and decide if you need more horizontal, or vertical.
- Take all stabilizers OFF. These only weigh you down, and the only time they should be used is to make sure you front is not heavier than your rear end (Although, still unecessary)
~To get defense up
- Tune as much as you can on KP output. This will usually increase your defense (when maxed out) by five points.
- Tune your defense up in your parts. You can choose between arms, head, legs, and core. The most dramtaic effect comes from tuning your core, then your legs, then your arms, and then your head.
~To get Overboost up
- Again, tune as much as you can on KP output.
- After that, put the rest on overboost. (The reason KP output helps your overboost is becuase your defense, the bar below you Ap, regenerates on a speed dependant on your KP output. You can overboost for longer, and be able to do it again faster with a higher KP output)
~To get Aiming up
- Tune on your lock-on speed.
- Tune ion your radar refresh.

All of the above can be mixed and match to achieve the greatest effect when playing missions. It is best to complete the data packs easily, then worry about getting 'S' on the very hard missions.

!!!VERSIONS!!!: The version you play on is very important when trying to complete the game. Versions are the differences in updates that From Software has given. The versions, as far as I know, are 1.00, 1.20, 1.30, and 1.40. The differences of these various updates can be seen when you select them in the SYSTEM menu in sigleplayer or multiplayer, but only affect the type you toggle it in. So if you adjusted it in multiplayer, it only affects multiplayer. Anyway, I'm guessing Despised played in version 1.00, or the latest version, so play on the same version HE played on if you are to follow his guide. I got all 1000 points using version 1.00 so it's very possible.

Okay, that's about it! I'm sorry if it's a little unoorganized, or if it is confusing. I haven't played the game in months, so I may have used wrong terms or names.

Anyway, despised, you don't have to use any of my ideas/suggestions, but I reccomend it. ;)

Despised Icon 07-07-2007 09:41 PM

Thanks deathbypig, I really appreciate the info given. As for the Sirius cannons, i say the exact name at the top with the mech info. But to be honest, there where a couple things I didn't like in your info. 1st, dont just say KOJIMA weapons, because most people wont know what weapons your talking about and you dont many Kojima weapons until after you beat missions with an s rank. and 2nd, I did mention which missions have enemy NEXT's and whether or not there are more of them on hard. Also, with the Elimination mission, I gave the best description for it since it's really short and easy to complete. But anyway, I will definitely be using some of your suggestions for the guide as soon as Im not busy.

Thanks

ELIMINATION was the last mission for me to get 'S' on hard. Do you have 'S' on that mission? The reason I described in my terms is because it was the easiest, and most effiecent way of getting an 'S' rankning on that mission (on hard).

Ok, if anyone thinks this guide is good enough to be posted as an official guide, than lets rally together and try to see if the admin. will be so kind as to get it posted as the official guide on the site. It would be really appreciated. Thanks:)

Shaaady Souljah 09-14-2007 11:25 PM

This is a nice guide. The only thing I dont' like is how much the OGOTO cannons are used. They are awful trying to fight a NEXT, especially in the air beacause they miss too much. The splash damage on the ground is ok, but I always took too much damage to get a good mission ranking in missions where I used ogoto's vs. nexts.

Try the Sirius Cannons and Kojima weapons. Also, tune your NEXT to have better targeting.

Weapons and mechs

How about something more realistic in weapons and mechs to do these missons as not everyone is the perfect gamer or sit on it all day long like its taken me about 15hrs total of game play on and off to get to chapter 3 and maybe gotten a b as a high gradeout of all the ones I've done. :uzi:

You used the Burn AC and still have a hard time? This is a hard game but you should at least feel that it is still possible to get A ranks... All bets are off if there are those flying fortresses, those are just plain incredibly hard.

If you describe the missions you are stuck on, I might be able to help.

Liquorj 02-08-2008 04:26 AM

This is a good guide Despised Icon, and it is much appreciated. I'll put it to use, and tell you how it helped me when I decide to play AC4 again.

If I earn "Hard Difficulty" without having earned "Normal Difficulty", do I get them both or do I have to play through the game twice?

You can't play hard without playing normal. They are not stackable. You can gain comfort in the fact that the game is not the same on hard, it is much harder :drunk

TheDirtyHippy 03-19-2008 10:54 PM

Rad. Thanks for the help!

chiefgonebad 03-23-2008 06:34 PM

good guide should help me out st adding more tips for hard and adding the achievemnt pics

Dude Rain 03-23-2008 11:35 PM

Dude, I am WAY confused with how you're getting your AC builds.

How exactly did you do the first mission of the game with your "BurnOgoto" build? You only get the initial schematic you choose at the beginning of the game. There's nothing even available for purchase before the first mission...

After I beat chapter 1, I opened up a few new schematics to buy, but the legs and the FCS weren't there at all. I stopped trying after that.

How are these builds supposed to get us through the chapters if we can't fucking build them? That's like saying "to unlock the door, use the key that's locked behind the door".

Your guide looked great on paper, without playing the game, but with the game in front of me, it's basically just confusing the hell out of me more than if I didn't have the guide at all...

I mean no ill will, and excuse my language, but I'm seriously confused about how to get these builds that are supposed to help me get through the game.

Despised Icon 03-31-2008 11:23 PM

Sorry for the confusion, I forgot to state that you need to go through a few chapters with the mech you choose in the beginning. Doing so allows you to unlock the parts and weapons used in the mech specs. Than can start buying and building the mechs I used, which will than make it easier to go back and get S-ranks with ease. I will try to clear up the guide, and hope it helps you.
