Will a usb 360 controller work on the windows Halo 2?

I don't want to have to buy a computer controller just to play and get the achievements.

I have a wired Xbox 360 controller and it works fine... You can always play with a mouse and keyboard =s

Any wired 360 controller should work. Otherwise, I'd suggest getting a wireless adapter to use your previously owned 360 controllers (wireless).

I think it doesnt work with an adapter for a wireless controller. For me it didn't. But with a wire controller i didn't have any problems

I think the different results are due to different definitions of "wireless adapter." With this device

you can use a wireless Xbox 360 controller with Windows.

I mistakenly thought I could use a Plug n' Play cable, like this:

I later learned that the USB cable is only providing power to the controller, not passing data.

I now use a wired controller. I don't have personal experience with the wireless adapter.

The wireless controller works (with the Wireless Gaming Receiver )... but I had to configure the driver manually. Win7 ultimate could never find the right one by itself.

I just plugged in my wired xbox controller and windows installed drivers automatically and works great

slashbear875 02-04-2012 11:06 AM

Yes it will work, I used it to play through the campaign and it works really well.

The third party branded controllers also work fine

Plug it in and your good to go, just make sure you plugged it in before you launch the game XD
