At what level did you complete Oblivion?

...and how easy or difficult was it?

When I first completed the game, I finished it at level 5. I found it pretty easy.

Also, when does it get really difficult to keep Martin alive? Because I'd like to complete the game again at a higher level, but not too high that it would be impossible to save him from dying.

Well there is a difficulty slider which you can change anytime during the game so difficulty wise i cannot tell you how hard it is. Level wise I'm not sure I know I was under lvl 10

SLY JD 07-20-2011 07:33 AM

First character at level 20ish.
On my beast, I did practically everything at 56 at ~90% difficulty. I still didn't find it too difficult as I had tonnes of buffs. I spose it would've been hell without all the goodies equipped.

DENAz666 07-21-2011 06:31 AM

Well the enemies scale to your level, so if you're a low levels, then the enemies will be quite easy.

WTF?! I'm level 22 and I just barely finished the Thieves Guild questline. I haven't even progressed the main story along at all.

TombRaiser 08-06-2011 03:03 AM

I finished the main quest before I did Guilds or the Arena. So, it didn't leave me much time to level higher than I did at that point. Now that I've completed the game completely I'm at level 23 now, but now I have nothing to do, since I did everything already.

I only wanted to know if it was going to be extremely hard to keep Martin alive if I did the main quest again at a higher level...say, level 30. I just wanted it to be more challenging, but not so much that my essential people die right away.

I'm already working on another playthrough and this new character is at level 24 right now. All is going well, so far.

GrimSovereignty 08-07-2011 12:17 AM

I was at lvl 25...and it wasn't to complicated, my character is stealth based so I kept getting all the bonus damage and could usually kill any thing in about two hits

d0ct0rscarecr0w 08-08-2011 02:51 PM

I beat the main quest at level 16 but that was because I did all of the guild side quests first.

Toams07 08-08-2011 04:24 PM

1st character lvl 12
2nd character lvl 22
3rd character lvl 34
4th character lvl 60 (did kinda everything before I finished story)

And after the 4th time I just made characters to play fun styles with

I finished the main quest at level 10. It was still patheticaly easy to win at level 10 but I am one of those people that didn't set any skills I actually use to major skills and use cheap means to jack up my skills. So basicly, while I was only level 10, most all of the skills I cared about were between 80 and 100 (without buffs).

Toams07 08-10-2011 02:28 PM

I'm going to make one more character and try to max out all my major skills before completing main quest and see what level I'll be. I wanna be higher than level 60

loganlogan80 08-10-2011 02:51 PM

I was only like level 6 when I finished the main questline. I did it before doing any guilds or side quests. It was incredibly easy so once I get 1000g on this game I'm gonna go back and try to get to at least level 30 before I finish. The reason my level was so low is that I didn't know only major skills help you level up and all of my major skills were things I thought I would be using, but I actually didn't. Acrobatics was the only good one so I basically got to level 6 by jumping.

DENAz666 08-11-2011 03:14 AM

lol I'm level 20 now, and have not even touched the main quest other then escaping the sewers. I'm doing pretty much everything else first... there is just so many distractions! lol

Kiyyun 08-21-2011 04:56 AM

level 26 on my last character, and I had finished all other guild questlines.

MTQNomad 08-21-2011 05:25 PM

Lvl 32 on my first and only character.

d0ct0rscarecr0w 08-22-2011 03:24 AM

Oblivion has to be the only game that's harder to complete if you are a higher level.

Crak3rsCr33d 08-25-2011 04:12 PM

Level 28. I did a lot of boosting stats too so maybe a third of my levels were of the fake variety. Regardless, this game was so much fun.

Like fine wine, Oblivion is best enjoyed slowly.

DrDozo 09-02-2011 07:51 PM

My dark elf was level 25 :]

Toams07 09-05-2011 04:47 PM

I just finished Main Questline for 5th or 6th time with a level 72 character

how did you pull that off? go to jail to many time?

the max level is about level 54 unless you do some weird stuff.

I just kept leveling and leveling and after a while it said I was level 72
Must've been glitchy though. I once received the message about resting to level up when I increased my Restoration skill. Restoration wasn't one of my major skills

A Scary Demon 09-07-2011 03:35 PM

You can actually just lower your skills to lvl up more the max is 255 i think but its not really worth it.cause you cant go past 100 per attribute.i was like lvl 70 or but i was doing all the achievements and all the dlc and nearly every side quest on that game before i completed it all.

mahuallica 09-10-2011 01:46 AM

I was Lvl 50, and it was extremely easy, you should't have a problem if you complete the game with a higher leveled character

you must be joking... did you turn the difficulty setting all the way down? Cause in my experience leveling up usually makes things harder.

McGoogles 09-15-2011 06:12 PM

Level 10. It was extremely easy. The only semi-tough part was when you had to defend Martin while the three Oblivion gates open.

yeah that part pissed me off because he would always run straight into the middle of all the monsters and died within a few minutes...

FurryMurry7 10-02-2011 01:38 PM

Well I did all the optional quests and stuff first and saved my main quest untill the very end so i finished at ike lvl 40 or so and I got all achievements in one playthru :)

bblcreator8790 10-02-2011 05:48 PM

My character was in the mid-40s when I finished it.

Xarmanzia 10-02-2011 06:00 PM

Something like level 10. Never bothered to level up, lol

i'm on my 2nd playthrough now. i bought this back when it 1st came out.

theres no friggin way you can beat this at level 5! i was level 45 & put in 249hrs real time gameplay. therw is a way,by using soul gems,to keep your health up. but that requires ALOT of time & leveling to do!

now martin i can see. i cant even keep the fisherman alive. the one you need to bring the scales to.

however, i have managed to keep martin alive every time.

the npc characters do do really stupid things in every rpg i've played.

just to bad no co op online. but this rpg still holds its own :)

you should get into exploring & side quests. go anywhere do anything.

my favourite part is the arena. i also like,no matter your class, you can develope any skills. ie a warrior can use magik.
