Subquest List

So I thought I'd get this started since I can't seem to find it ANYWHERE. Here's a list of the subquests that I have so far. I will keep this updated if you can help out with some that I'm missing, that would be pretty awesome.

In an effort to reduce the amount of typing I have to do, here's some basic information:
Time Limit: Complete the mission in under the time specified M = minutes S = seconds
Minor Damage: Take less than the amount of damage specified
Scrap Collection: Find a destroyed AC and collect the scrap from it in SCAN MODE. This is done by simply walking over it while in scan mode. It will show up as two gears if you're looking for it.

Just in case I need one more.

This may sound stupid but for the scrap pieces, they are the ones that show up in scan mode as two gears on destroyed mechs right? And how exactly do you pick them up because I have found several and when I go to them nothing pops up, Ive even tried hitting every possible button in and out of scan mode. Hopefully someone writes a good guide for this one because the game itself doesnt explain much of anything. Still trying to figure out what alot of things mean in the game and how it really works. Thanks for starting this thread.

yea Tell em about it I miss the days when games came with.. now what are those things called again? I'm sorry my 30 year old brain has a hard time remembering sometimes.. ^^; OH YEA! Instruction manuals! As for the srcap pieces " from what I can tell the old school finding parts during mission routine" you just have to run/walk over them to pick them up.

As he said, you come up to them in scan mode and it should pop up. If you press the back button, it'll show red if you've collected it. It should also pop up and say "Scrap Collection A" or B or whatever.

also if you have the part (preorder DLC versions of the weapons don't count) it won't be awarded to you but you still get the credit for picking them up.

blueshwoo 03-23-2012 07:55 AM

That must be it then because theres been several times I couldn't pick it up, thanks

DOC oSPADEo 03-25-2012 05:01 AM

Do you have to do all subquests in the mission in the same run? Or can I do all the scrap stuff on a separate playthrough and still get 15/15?

eastx 03-25-2012 05:43 AM

You might find this Japanese wiki useful. It's got pictures of each scrap location and lots more.

Here is a scrap guide from GameFAQs too.

No, you can do some in one run and some in another.

Thanks for that link eastx, I'll start working them in :)

Worhammer 03-30-2012 03:16 PM

List is mostly finished. Waiting on some decent videos for the other zodiac battles, but there are good videos for all the scrap so that's pretty good.

cheevo360 03-31-2012 05:45 PM

Hi dude that cool guide for this, but is subquests have to do for achievements for reasons or those is just extra thing to do without cheevos?

Worhammer 03-31-2012 06:57 PM

This achievement

Shdwwrym 03-31-2012 08:21 PM

Is there any in-game significance to the number of bullets shown for a subquest or its coloration? Like are two white-colored bullets incomplete objectives or is it just the game trying to break things up color-wise?

Patmaster 04-01-2012 12:36 PM

I have all Zodiacs defeated, only the second one in mission 6 is missing.

Is it right, that you have to destroy all enemy forces, all 4 tanks, the LLL, take no more than 10.000 AP damage and get to the large building within 5 minutes?

If so... thx, that is like the hardest subquest in the whole game!

EDIT: Just got them all along with "Emblem Master" and "Zodiac"... :D
Only the subquests in story and S ranks to go... Well and then the super-bosses! O_O

Took me reading your thing a few times to get it...

They are as follows:
1 bronze bullet = 10K bonus
2 silver bullets = 20K bonus
3 gold bullets = 30K bonus

Basically it's a difficulty gauge as to each subquest.

Shinobi273 04-23-2012 06:48 PM

For subquests, is it necessary to complete them in the same run or can I do a speed run and an annihilate run and an S rank run to get the achievements? I'm on order mission 02 and it seems impossible to do any of these.

Navigation (menus and mission maps) and AC building are driving me up the wall too.

Worhammer 04-23-2012 07:27 PM

You only have to do them once. There are some that are pretty hard if not impossible for you to be expected to do everything all in one run.

Do I need a spreadsheet or will the game show which ones I have completed?

it shows you how many you completed, but not the specific ones. i would definitely keep track of the story mission subquests, but the order mission ones are very easy to do. FYI you can do all of these with a partner. it makes the 10K damage one's a lot easier by having your partner clear the level while you sit back.

edit: in the earlier story missions (i think 00 - 04ish) what i said above holds true, but in the later missions the subquests you have not completed are blocked out. so you could beat the level and check what you have left, but only in the later missions

Shinobi273 04-24-2012 06:11 PM

Does doing these with a partner make the S rank missions easy or much easier? A lot of the S rank youtubes I see are single player only.

Worhammer 04-24-2012 08:41 PM

From what Ultima told me (the guy who was first to get all S ranks) it's way harder to get S rank with a team mate.

it is. when you have a team mate you have to split the money, and rank (A,B,C,D,S) is based on how much money you have. pretty much in every mission except 01 and 05 you can easily S rank just by completing as many objectives as possible and not taking too much damage. it costs a lot to repair your AC.

time isn't really a factor, but there are time subquests for every mission. i wouldn't recommend going for them because you would have to sacrifice a lot of other subquests in the process.

mission 05 especially is an exception because you pretty much have to complete it flawlessly to S rank and there is the time subquest and another subquest (for fighting the unidentified AC) which requires you to blaze through the first half of the level. the guide on TA says over 400,000 but it is more than that. I had a 407,000 run and only got an A. I got 440,000+ on my S run and completed every subquest except for the charge attack one, while taking less than 5,000 damage if that puts it in perspective.

Shinobi273 04-25-2012 05:36 PM

What weapons are you using? I'm using gatling guns from the Recon DLC and Vertical missiles or KE rockets. Gatling guns get "ineffective" alot of the time. The missiles/rockets seem like the only weapons I have that cut through more armored enemies.

It sucks that they offer co-op and slap you in the face with a penalty that severe.

2 gatlings on the front. I think they are the USG/H. the one's that do 1000 damage (my performance bar is maxed out). there are ineffective a lot, but it doesn't matter because they end up doing tons of damage anyways

2 battle rifles on the back, the Stretozas (sp.) they take out what the gatling guns can't for the most part, but i use the USG's 90% of the time.

for shoulders i like the daisey's a lot but they weigh 1200+ (very good energy consumption though). but if you do missions with a lot of missiles i would swap out to a missile interceptor. the ammo magazines are also pretty nice b/c the USG's don't have as much ammo as some of the other gatlings.

Shinobi273 04-25-2012 06:33 PM

Can you explain performance bar? I play offline so that is probably something I need to be online for. Are those online store weapons or do you unlock those in SP? Is there an online store?

the performance bar just increases the weapon's stats. to increase the performance bar you just do missions and use the weapon. it shouldn't matter if you are offline.

they are regular weapons but i don't think you can buy them right as you start the game. i'm not really sure how to get new parts in the garage, but if you join a high level team you will automatically get a whole lot of new parts. i don't know if there is an online store

When you're looking in the store you will see certain weapons that have a performance bar where it would normally say "Junk" or "Repaired." It will say "Performance" and then have a little bar. It doesn't matter if the bar is empty or half full to get the achievement. If it is empty, when you purchase the part a screen will pop up and you will be able to choose if you want it to fire faster, have more ammo, etc. If it is partially full, the choice is already made and you just have to equip the part and use it until the bar fills up (happens automatically).
