700 collectibles? :( why would they do that!

Rep 05-19-2012 01:59 AM

Collecting 700 collectibles for only 25G. Hot damn!

I'm wondering the same damnable thing. Collect this, collect that, damnable games are becoming more like scavenger hunts just to artificially lengthen gameplay.

The only collectibles I liked getting were the Playboy mags in Mafia 2.

DOPE BOI sure knows what's up! They better have a decent tracking system to find them.

I heard you will find comic book pages almost everywhere so it wont be that hard (ok the last few pages will be hard to find).

Atleast you get something in return? 10-11 comics (11 if you have the Stan Lee Pre-Order Bonus).

Yeah that's exactly what I read on Marvel's site.
Don't whine about the collectibles, they really pay off in this game. Plus, it's always nice to have something to keep you busy after the end of the story mode (aside from the city events which become boring after a while).

Tyger7 05-21-2012 08:23 PM

Well I am afraid of it being like transformers or hulk where tlthere are so many it distracted you!

kyboy 06-07-2012 02:57 AM

well my birthday is the 27th and I have Lego Batman 2 pre ordered but I think im going to switch it to this bc its one or the other as my gift... honestly, im liking the looks of Spiderman, over Lego Batman..

Hulk wasn't too bad. What was it? 100 total canisters? Or was it 200? I can't recall....I remember just jumping around rooftops waiting to hear that sound they emit.

Tyger, looking forward to your guide. You always do a great job.

Robot God 06-16-2012 04:51 PM

Hope it gives you some sort or radar on your map to locate each one similar to the one used in Prototype 2.

That's what I was thinking. It probably will. I'd be rightfully pissed if I had just one or two left to find... Also I think there are much more than 700 collectables. That's just the comic book pages.

GalaxyRed13 06-18-2012 09:35 PM

Maybe they'll do something like in Web of Shadows. After a certain number of collectibles that you find on your own, the rest start to show up on the map, making it easier to collect the rest.

kyboy 06-18-2012 09:38 PM

well, you dont have a radar.. its just if your by one, itll tell you. but no "radar" to tell you where to go get em.

Is there any missable achievements? Can someone create a small roadmap please?

as far as i can tell there is no missable achievements, you can always go back to a chapter and replay

David1 06-29-2012 05:40 PM

I reached 500 comics there and now they're showing up on the mini-map as yellow dots if I'm near them. They're not on the big map but at least it's something. I've around 40 more to get now.

LE2 Cubbyson x 06-30-2012 11:32 AM

I got all 700 last night and just a tip if you are missing 1 or 2 they are properly under markers on the map as they don't show up over them. I found this out after swinging around for a hour

Do difficulty achievements stack?

Bishop24 07-01-2012 07:17 PM

I just completed the main story and did not unlock the secret achievements (possibly spoilers) for defeating Felicia, rhino in the sewers, and iguana.

Does anybody know when you come in contact with these characters? I do not remember seeing Felicia or Iguana in the main story.

You defeat them during side missions that can be found throughout the city. I think they're labeled green on your map.

Appreciate the help!

I completed the game on hero difficuly and now I want to complete it on super hero difficulty. Do I have to start a new game? Or can I just change the difficulty in the settings, then continue game, and replay all the levels?

kyboy 07-10-2012 06:07 PM

ok so ive beat the game, and now im going through getting all the collectibles and enemy pictures. so my question is, i never took a picture of a hunter... did i mess up? or does one show up in one of the missions? basically im asking, am i wasting my time with the enemy pictures or should i just go ahead and start my super hero play through and do the pictures on it?

Sarcastro 07-10-2012 09:23 PM

Does the sniper teams count towards your 100% completion? I'm sitting at 91% and still have 23 collectibles to find, and 80% on the pictures I believe. I've only taken down 7% of sniper teams, so I'm assuming it doesn't count.

Check that email the reporter sends you after you beat the game, it states what enemies are in what levels. I've read that the only enemy that you can technically miss are the snipers in the city, as once they're defeated they don't respawn and don't show up in any levels.

Gotcha. But I read that the seekers are missable . I got a picture of the seeker. The seeker and hunters are at 100%. But I forgot about the hunters.
