CALL OF THE DEAD 100% WALKTHROUGH (In a nutshell, revised) Achievements+Map Explained

Recommended Posts

--Not solely my contribution--

Perk/Item Locations

Deadshot Daquiri - Top of the lighthouse. Basically the same as having the aim assist on Modern Warfare 2. Click the left trigger, locks onto the zombies head.

Double Tap Root Beer (claymores) - As you first take the stairs up the ship (from the beginning) it's the first debris on the right side; move the boat/debris across from the MPL, proceed to the far end of the ship and there you have it... plus claymores.

Stamin-Up - Located in the lower lighthouse/accessed from lighthouse basement; you will see a door, and an ice slide behind the stairs. Open the door and proceed outside, where you will find a room with this perk. IF THE BOX IS BEHIND THE LIGHTHOUSE IT WILL BE IN THIS SAME LOCATION.

Speed Cola (Knife) - This perk is located close to Stamin-up; the aforementioned ice slide will bring you right to it. Be careful as it will dump you in icy water. Someone I was playing with said the knife was here too but I must run past it every time because I've never seen it.

Quick Revive - Located at the spawn, on what i call quick revive island

PHD Flopper - Located underneath the light house, one floor above where the old crew is trapped. Pretty useful if you have a ray gun or scavenger.

Juggernog (Semtex) - Toward the furthermost rear of the ship in the basement. If you run past the MPL, and continue across the ship, opposite side of the ship where double tap root beer is, you will find jug. you must go under the ship, through some water, and you will run into it. It can also be accessed by opening the door next to the mp40, and then opening a door on the far corner, that leads downstairs (next to the semtex).

Semtex is located towards the back end ship, the outline is on the side of one of the transport units where the door is.

ZIP LINES

To use the zip lines you just jump and you're automatically taken across the map.

The first zip line is located by the power on the ship. You can use it at any point, as soon as you're at it.

The second zip line is located at the top of the light house. There are two dials on the wall of the top and second highest floor that you must operate in order to open the zip line door, making it accessible. This will take you, as mentioned before, to the end of the ship, opposite of double tap, closest to juggernog.

FLINGER

In order to make this work, you must open up the upper outside section by the lighthouse, with the large metal catwalk, etc.

get used to the delay.

Pack A Punch

Moves around the map randomly on a pre set timer. the Lighthouse will spin, then lightning will strike and the screen will get yellow. at this point, the light house light will bug out, until it points to some place in the water where the PaP has been relocated.

NEW WEAPONS

Stuntman Achievement

VR-11 - changes zombies into humans, kind of a mix between a monkey bomb and a nova gas crawler. Can be VERY annoying as it will disperse herds in multiple directions, making organized circles difficult, and led the last man standing in my match to go down. Pack a punched it didn't seem any different. PaP it and shoot a zombie 2/3 times for cheevo. If you shoot George twice with it, he will also calm down.

Shooting On Location Achievement

Scavenger - don't fire this thing at any zombies within 100 feet of you. We're talking crossbow x10. Vaporizes them. Get phd flopper. Best if upgraded for cheevo, which is self explainatory; kill 10 with one shot from 100+ feet away.

Dogs / Monkeys / Boss Round - There does not appear to be such a round. You are stuck with Senor Romero the whole time. That means no mandatory max ammos. No free perks unless you down Georgie.

EASTER EGGS!!!

Hidden Song

1st Meteor : On the left of the spawn area on a steel barrel you can hear the weird alien sound it emits.

2nd Meteor : In the room with the PhD Flopper room just laying underneath the old night stand with the clock on it.

3rd Meteor : On ship in the dinner room on one of the booth chairs.

Alternatively, you may activate two of the meteorites and one of the torn up number clues and the song will still play.

Stand-In/Ensemble Cast Achievement

Step 1: Turn the power on

Step 2: Go to the door at the bottom of the lighthouse and knife the door...listen to what each character has to say to initiate it. They will mention needing a fuse.

Step 3: Go to the room above, there will be a fuse lying on the table under the post board. It will not appear unless the npc has mentioned it and your character replies in confirmation. Nick the door again if it hasn't. Pick it up and bring it back to the door. This will activate the Generators.

The fuse will be upstairs all the time after you listen to the whole conversation. It might be one the table by the perk, it might be in a corner by the closet or it might be on the table behind papers with 3 looking like car battaries. Thats at least the 3 places i found them at and they are always upstairs not entering the lighthouse.

I usually either find it on the table or in the green locker.

Step 4: Destroy the force field generator across from the door (Scavanger is recommended, but semtex grenades work)

Step 5: Destroy generator located near the front of the ship where the power is, hiding on a small island on the left (straight past mpl)

http://s981.photobucket.com/albums/ae291/cactusfromrecordbin/?action=view&current=0503011140.jpg

Step 6: Destroy generator located near the path underneath the power ship. when you clear the rubble to go to the other ship, drop down to said ship, turn around and drop down again, it's located to the right

http://s981.photobucket.com/albums/ae291/cactusfromrecordbin/?action=view&current=0503011140.jpg#!oZZ2QQcurrentZZhttp%3A%2F%2Fs981.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fae291%2Fcactusfromrecordbin%2F%3Faction%3Dview%26current%3D0503011140a.jpg

Step 7: Destroy generator located at dock (seen from the top of the lighthouse)

(http://s981.photobucket.com/albums/ae291/cactusfromrecordbin/?action=view&current=0503011140.jpg#!oZZ1QQcurrentZZhttp%3A%2F%2Fs981.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fae291%2Fcactusfromrecordbin%2F%3Faction%3Dview%26current%3D0503011154.jpg)

Step 8: Return to door to find the field has been disabled, then knife again to hear next objective

Step 9: Vodka - It's encased in ice with the bottle sticking out of the top and it's ALWAYS hanging off a railing where a team mate can be below it to catch it.

-First place was right where the two boats connect (power switch boat and jugger boat) where you buy the debris which drops you below onto the jugger boat. It was on the left railing.

-Second place was where the fuse box is, go up to where the mystery box is and it's on the railing right there over hanging the section with quick revive.

-Last place was on top of the light house over hanging the section where you zipwire over.

You have to knife it and it drops and someone HAS to catch it, if you don't it will spawn elsewhere.

take it back and receive instructions to get 'golden rod'.

Vodka is only on multiplayer. If solo, this step is skipped.

---Solo mode only---

Step 10a: (GOLDEN ROD SOLO) Go to the helm of the ship where the steering wheel is. One handle is red. Turn that to the 5 o'clock position (diagonal down+right). There are 3 levers to the right of that. Move the first one once, the second does not move, move the third 2 or 3 times. A foghorn should sound and light should arrive beamed from the submarine into the lighthouse.

Step 11a: You are going to need a VR-11, more than likely PaP'd. In the lighthouse where the green light is, change zombie(s) into humans, kill them and let them rise into the light. The golden rod will drop from this and you will hear church bells. It may take 2-10 'sacrifices'.

---Multiplayer version---

Dials

In the lighthouse are 4 dials each to its own floor.

They are colored purple, blue, orange, and yellow from bottom to top.

It is believed they correspond with the audio whatchamacallits, and might be tuned to a frequency. Hasn't figured it out yet.

Ardcore82 says:

Each dial has a colour on it. From top to bottom they are Yellow, Orange, Blue and Purple.

Turning the dials advances them 1 number, each dial also advances other dials.

Turning each dial has the following effect:

Yellow= Yellow +1 Orange +1

Orange= Orange +1 Yellow +1 Blue +1

Blue= Blue +1 Orange +1 Purple +1

Purple= Purple +1 Blue +1

Okay so I immediately dismissed the morse code theory as ridiculous...but I was wrong. The morse code translates to 2746...which is the same as the colored scraps found amongst the stage.

Each number also makes a pitch which I can only assume corresponds to a foghorn so after setting the dials (which is annoying and stupid because they all change each other)...

Purple-6

Blue-4

Orange-7

Yellow-2

...hit the foghorns in relation to their dials in accordance to the floors. IE: if purple is on the first floor (i think it is, not sure) hit the fog horn with the same sound that #6 on the dials makes, then the fog horn with the same pitch as #4, then so on and so forth in the order of the floors. Makes sense?

I'm flattered to be quoted in a guide. We can take one step out now because we've decrypted it. For the dials, hit purple once, blue 5 times, orange 8 times, yellow 4 times and you'll wind up with the right sequence regardless of what order you hit them in, just make sure it's the right number of times

Golden rod multiplayer

7.How to get them to correct numbers:

1. Turn the Purple dial until it is at 6

2. Turn the Orange dial until the Blue dial is at 4

3. Turn the Yellow dial until the Orange dial is at 7.

4. [Now you MUST remember how many turns you take here]. Turn the yellow dial until it is at 2

5. Turn the Purple dial as many times as you turned the Yellow dial in step 4.

6. Turn the Blue dial until it is 4

Everything should be set now, if not, don't worry you can redo the steps.

8. Four Radios.

You must activate them in this order(Does not matter if you don't activate in a certain amount of time):

First one is underneath the power room. Second one is the one on the barrel next to stamin-up. Third is in the crate next to the zipline on the right. And the last you activate is the one next to the O4 and PhD Flopper.

9.Boat Time aka Easiest thing ever:

First you want to move the first lever once and the last lever 3 times. Then you want to move the wheel until the only brown hand is at a 5:00 position.

10:Foghorn Leghorn.

You need to activate the foghorns in a certain pattern. First you want to activate the one at the bottom of the lighthouse that is nearest to the water. Then activate the one closest to speed cola(Down the ice slide), Next you want to activate the one that is closest to the lighthouse door at the bottom. Then the last one you activate is the one that is Behind the rock near stamin-up/speed cola.

11:Now you have the Green Light.

Now you need the VR11 and the Dolls(or a scavenger or a PaP'd Raygun).

Go to the green light in the lighthouse, go to the bottom floor, Then shoot a zombie(It is recommended that you use crawlers for this. Always keep around two). Then when it starts flying up, Mess it up with your explosives or whatever.

12: Almost there.

-Now you grab the elusive golden rod.

-Head back to the Fantastic Four Room and put the golden rod in.

-Then you have to listen to the O4 whine.

-Now the fuse is gonna spark.

-Now there are two ways to deal with this:

First is being an idiot and getting another fuse.

The second way is by being smart and knifing the sparking fuse.

13: YOU DID IT!

-Now knife the door. WooT! Two Achievements, Two Gamerpics, and A Beautiful DG2 for your troubles.

- Now go kill George if you want the achievement for that two, With the DG2 it's a bit easier.

:woop:

-Edit: George is a tough bastard. With every extra person his health multiplies by 2. So he is best taken on in solo. I also would like to thank those of you who saw my error. Thank you.

-Also if you mess up, there is no known way to fix it(I heard turning the music on fixes it but I didn't mess up once)

-The DG2 has infinite damage yet it does not seem to affect George

- Sad Face ;_;

George Romero/Quiet on the set Achievement

Shoot him and he goes nuts. Lead to water to slow him down. Upgrade a Vr-11 or Scavenger to take him out. Best if done in water. The VR-11 only puts him down for a spell, but if you unload on him with Pap's weapons (power weapons), you'll get the cheevo. His light that he carries indicates his health. It will turn redder.

As stated in previous thread, will update with relevant info as received and confirmed. Made this one spiffier. Hope it helps to have it all in one place, even though it's not as fancy as other threads.

That's some badass detective work there, Batman. Thank you.

Can someone please confirm whether or not the VR-11 is possible to obtain in solo? I've had 5 high-round games in the past two days (20, 16, 15, 15 and 22) and I haven't got this gun in the mystery box once. Ridiculous.

Yes, it is available in solo.

It takes 1 you need to kill the human while they're going up the beam of light.

Why do you say this is a 100% Guide, when Clearly It is not.

a) it's 100% minus the final step for multiplayer golden rod

b) it's updated as we figure it out

c) it's all the information consolidated into one place

d) let's see you figure it all out... then I don't have to waste my time. I've spent the past 2 and a half hours on round 9 with alpha1niner trying to work the last piece. NOBODY has figured it out yet as of this moment.

What happens when you do that and is it the step after the vodka?

A) Thus Not 100%, just saying. 100% minus 1% is still not 100%.

B) Very Nice

C) Very Nice as Well

D) Chill out man, You make it sound as if you discovered everything yourself. I will no doubt reference this tonight when I get off work, in which I will share my Findings, if we find anything.

Sure maybe its me being finicky about the guide not actually being 100%, but maybe its also you looking for attention/views/popularity whatever, thus Claiming its a 100% guide, even though its not.

Anyway, its whatever. Nice 90%, 100% complete guide. El oh El.

Okay, I'm lost. I was just having a run about on solo until I got to round 15 and decided to have a crack at the 'Stand-In' achievement. I followed the guy in head, and I'm at the point where I've blown up all the generators and I've gone back to the door where the guys are stuck, and they've asked me to do something that I cant remember. There's this yellow dot in the sky that keeps bleeping, can someone explain the next step for me please.

Next you got to do step 10a and 11a of this guide and you should get it.

If you want to call it finicky... sure, I agree. Other than that, no, I'm not looking for attention or popularity. I want to figure it out and get the achievement over with. I've been at it too long... need sleep.

Also, if you're going to be a stickler for a title, it also says (in a nutshell, revised) which refers to my previous thread that got a bit off topic.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=308764

I consolidated a bit and clarified/added to the info to make if more efficient and visible on the board, as well as dispelling the 30 threads about the same thing (hopefully).

SOLO ONLY

Step 1: Go to the metal door under the PhD flopper room. Run into it and the 4 characters should talk. After, knife the door and after the dialogue go back up to the PhD flopper room and there will be a fuse somewhere in the room. Usually on the desk across from phd flopper or by the cabinet.

Step 2: go back to the door and next to it should be a padlock thing. Press x on it and more dialogue should appear. After that, find the 4 red lights on top the generators and semtex them. 1 is right next to the metal door, 1 is near the glacier next to the double tap part of the ship. 1 is to the right of the bridge when you exit the last floor of the lighthouse and forward. 1 is out the window to the left of the staminup perk room.

Step 3: After, go to the power room and inside should be a wheel and controls. Make sure the brown wheel stub is facing 5 o clock, or the bottom right way. then flip the first switch on the right once, and the last switch 3 times.

Step 4: A green light should appear down the lighthouse from a sub in the ocean. Use the V-11 gun and the scavenger for this part. V-11 a zombie and he should run to the green light and float up it, and then scavenger shot him. after, the golden stick figure will appear at the bottom of the staircase in the middle.

Step 5: take it back to the metal door, and more dialogue should happen. After, knife the fuse box next to the door and in a couple seconds you should get the achievement and the wunderwaffle for 90 seconds

Unbelievable.

I got to round 20 and I FINALLY got the bloody gun I've spent about 500,000 trying to get, however, I'm not on round 23 and after getting a good 15+ humans/ex-zombies up into the green light, I still haven't heard any bells or seen this golden rod. Am I supposed to do something? where will the golden rod appear?

I've currently got no bullets for the V-R11 so I'm going to have to wait for a max ammo which probably wont come.

you have to shoot the dude as he's going into the green light. you only need to kill one of them and then the golden rod will appear at the bottom of the lighthouse.

Yeah, I finally figured that out after watching this YouTube clip..

[ame=

]
[/ame]

Anyway, I finally got the achievement (and the gamer picture that comes with it) after 27 rounds. I cant actually believe what I just put myself through to get that achievement, especially when the guy in the YouTube video above got it well bellow half the amount of rounds I needed, but then again, I wouldn't have needed as many rounds if I hadn't of had such bad luck with the V-R11.

The hole concept of the achievement is actually pretty simple once you know exactly what you have to do. It can all be done and you can be fully prepared for the final stage of the achievement by round 10, I just had really bad luck with the V-R11 and have done in every single solo games I've played since the release of the DLC. For example, ignoring the 27 round game I just had, previous to that, I've had games that have gone up to round 16, 15, 15, 20, 22 and a bunch of other 15+ finishes, and not once did I get the V-R11, so unless your as unlucky as I am, the achievement shouldn't be anywhere near as hard as it was for me.

Before I dish out a few tips and what I used in them 27 rounds, I want to tell you how the game finished, because I doubt anyone will ever have a more dramatic game than this. Basically, going into round 26, I knew all I had to do was stay alive until the majority of the zombies were dead, and then strike when there was only a few crawlers left. I got a human/ex-zombie into the green light, killed him whilst hovering and then followed him to the highest possible point to see if the golden rod was going to come down, and it did. I went back into the room, inserted the dam thing and waited for the blokes to finish there little chat, and whilst that was going on, I saw a couple of crawlers coming towards me so I shot them, not knowing they were the last couple zombies, so I quickly rushed back to the route I take before getting down'd and losing all my perks, I was so pissed off lol, thankfully I got up and managed to run out the exit, and then continued to run to jugger and quick revive, before returning to my route. I killed the majority of the zombies, went back to the door and knifed the fuse box. I know I'd get the special gun within seconds and the achievement that follows with it, until a zombie decided to trap me in the corner and beat my ass down. I never had quick revive on, so that was it, just Imagen how pissed of you'd be after doing all of that for nothing, but then after about 15 seconds of me dieing, the achievement popped along with the gamer picture, the relief was Immense.

Sorry about the long post, I just had to get that shit off my chest lol. This certainly has to go down as one of the hardest achievements I've unlocked. It could have been so much easier had luck been on my side, bit it wasn't to be so it's defiantly right up there.

The tips I'd give is to just make sure you get jugger and the power turned on within the first 5-7 rounds, and then buy all the doors leading to the bottom of the light house and then just keep running around in circles until they gather up and start shooting.

God luck all, and just before I finished, here's a sneaky pic I took on round 26.
