After reading some reviews and such, I realized it went completely over my head that Walt's very angry phone call at the end of the episode was for his family's benefit. It made sure that Skyler was off the hook for any sort of trouble she could've gotten into for helping Walt. Can't believe I missed that!

I honestly didn't catch it right away but my girlfriend pointed it out about halfway through the scene. Girls are smarter than boys.

I rewatched the episode tonight and noticed that in the opening flashback scene when Walt called and told his very first lie there was a little foreshadowing with the camera shot of Skylar picking up the phone next to the knives. They used the exact same shot later when she went for the knife, which was sitting next to the phone.

Did you catch Walt's pants on the ground in the desert when he was rolling the barrel?

You mean in this scene?

Yeah I didn't catch it at first until I rewatched the episode again. While it didn't really dawn on me the first time, rewatching the episode again made me realize just how powerful this scene was:

You can say that Walt "Broke Bad" several times throughout the show, but I think this is the first time he truly realizes just how badly he hurt his family through his reckless decisions/actions while claiming that it was all done in the interest of protecting his family.

Also, I wanted to share this since I thought it was pretty funny (and something to help lighten the mood).

Omg... just started watching and finished season one.

I. Am. Hooked. AMC puts out some brilliant shows. First TWD, now Breaking Bad! Go Heisenberg! That Tuco scene at the end of 1x07 was just... wow. I'm positive it gets better and better!

Glad you're enjoying it thus far :D It gets 34334x times better from there!

Ah! this was the scene I was talking about yesterday. When he says "We're family", I got all emotional. Such a powerful scene.

I don't know if I need it, but I most certainly want it!! ;)

EDIT: Saw price...FUCK THAT!

Nah. We were discussing this on the other site a week ago. It's too damn much money to drop at one time for a TV show. I already have the first five on Blu-Ray, I'll just pick up season five part two and be done with it. I hope the alternate ending shows up online pretty quickly though.

I know. :( I'm hoping the price will drop in a few months.

So we can all just finally stop the debate, right? Wire or not, pretty sure this show has solidified its status as greatest drama of all time.

I'm positive it's the best show ever made.

Now enjoy...

Yeah while I think the box (barrel?) set would be awesome to have, I think it's just way too expensive and I'd probably have nowhere to put it even if I did get it haha.

Speaking of things that'd be awesome to have.

Leave it to Lemons to post 104+ YouTube videos when referencing something :p

I just realized who Glenn Yarbrough was and I got really excited when I found out he sang a song from The Hobbit!

I had that on VHS and watched it all the time! Never knew who Mr. Yarbrough was until yesterday.

But I noticed that Mr. White posted the same "Take My True Love By The Hand" video, so I'll edit that from my previous post. There I go again, not looking through two posts above mine.
