CrustyDirtDemon
Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2009 Achievement Guide This guide is for the sole use of www.Xbox360Achievements.org, and can not be reproduced without proper permission, Thanks CrustyDirtDemon Disclaimer: This is my first attempt at writing a guide, I achieved 1000 GS for this game in about 8 total hours, and found it very enjoyable, and hopefully you will to... http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/+dAfzA==.jpg Perseverant Award 50G “Complete all Bonus Missions” There are a total of 5 Bonus missions; Tanzania, Alaska, India, Congo, and Nambia. However when you begin a new career you only have Tanzania available, but as you progress through the career you will unlock the other four bonus missions. During the bonus missions you will use your skills obtained through career to accomplish a hunt objective, all of which are very easy... http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/+-EWeQ==.jpg Bronze Sharpshooter 50G “Earn all Bronze Medals in Action Zone” See ‘Platinum Sharpshooter’ http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/+hHu6g==.jpg Silver Sharpshooter 75G “Earn all Silver Medals in Action Zone” See ‘Platinum Sharpshooter’ http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/-7MFEw==.jpg Gold Sharpshooter 100G “Earn all Gold Medals in Action Zone” See ‘Platinum Sharpshooter’ http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/-lP9gA==.jpg Platinum Sharpshooter 200G “Earn all Platinum Medals in Action Zone” Unfortunately all the “sharpshooter” achievements are not stackable, and must be done individually. Action Zone is allot like how Cabela’s Trophy Bucks was set up, In Dangerous Hunts there are a total of 6 different Action Zone Challenges, in which you are given a time limit and a minimum point total allowed for a successful rating. The best way to ensure victory is to try and obtain various powerups, activated by “pushing RS in”, and also by finishing each stage within the challenge as quick as you can, resulting in a time bonus. I recommend knocking out “Platinum Shooter” first, since although very frustrating at times, once completed the remaining three medals will be a breeze. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/-HL0NQ==.jpg Experienced Hunter 50G “Complete the Career Mode on Normal” See “Pro Hunter Award” http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/UPqP7rE=.jpg Pro Hunter Award 100G “Complete the Career Mode on Difficult” There are a total of 10 career Missions which will bring you all over the world hunting dangerous game, within these missions you will have ‘Main Objectives’ and ‘Optional Secondary Objectives’. These objectives can be viewed at any time by using the “back” button on your 360 controller. The secondary objectives are not a requirement for this achievement but are needed if you’re attempting the full 1000 GS for this game. If you’re having trouble finding your target, enable “hunter vision” by ‘pushing in the LS’ which will cause the animals in your field of vision to be easily spotted. Also don’t forget to use your map... http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/UPiu5wQ=.jpg Apiphobia 20G “Destroy at least 10 Bee Hives playing Career Mode” The description for this achievement is vague, so to clear confusion up, you CAN achieve this through multiple careers, I would however recommend that when starting a new career that you use a new save slot, to make sure your current destroyed bee hives is not erased. It took me 2 ½ Careers to obtain this, 4 Bee hives on normal, another 4 on Difficult, and another 2 on a new career. I found that only 4-5 were only available through out the entire game. 2-3 can be found on the second level “Tanzania” and another 2 on the fourth level “Ecuador” After your tenth destroyed bee hive the achievement will unlock at the next Auto-save or Manual Save. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/UPtvFiI=.jpg Completionist 60G “Complete the game 100% on Normal” See “Rabid Completionist” http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/UP0MDP0=.jpg Skilled Hunter Award 20G “Use all Power-Ups at least once” In dangerous hunts while play the “Action Zone Challenges” you will be awarded different powerups for taking down your prey(s) within a certain time limit and also certain distance. There are 6 total different Powerups: X4 Multiplier: Awarded for taking down 5 trophies in less than 60 seconds. Quick Draw: Awarded for taking down 1 trophy with a clean shot, from less than 5 meters. Laser Bullet: Awarded for taking down 2 trophies with clean shots, in less than 20 seconds, from a distant greater than 5 meters. Animal Freeze: Awarded for taking down 3 trophies with clean shots, in less than 40 seconds, for a distance less than 20 meters. Instant Kill: Awarded for taking down 3 trophies in less than 20 seconds. Thermal Vision: Awarded for taking down 3 trophies in 20 seconds from a distance of 7 yards, while using a pistol. CrustyDirtDemon
http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/UPzs9G4=.jpg Snakes on a Plain 20G “Take down at least 15 Poisonous Snakes playing Career Mode” Unlike the bee hive achievement; this one can be acquired in one play through. In multiple levels while playing you may notice in the upper right corner of your screen a yellow circle, which mean something of interest is in the area, use “Hunter Sense” by “pushing in LS” and if your main objective animal isn’t what’s making the yellow circle appear, its quite possible there is a poisonous snake on the ground nearby. If all else fails, on the India level during your career you will head towards a temple to tranquilize a loose tiger, on the platform of this temple like structure there are maybe 8-12 snakes not to mention another possible 6-10 through out this level. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/UPlOH5c=.jpg Rabid Completionist 120G “Complete the game 100% on Difficult” In order to obtain a status of 100% during your career of Dangerous Hunts 09, you must: Complete 10/10 Career Missions Complete all 9/9 Secondary ‘Optional’ Objectives Complete all 5/5 Bonus Missions Complete All 6/6 Action Zone Challenges on all medal difficulties; Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum (24/24) Unlock all 7/7 Items: and as longs as you do all Main/Secondary Objectives you cannot miss out on this. ****Attention**** It has been verified by 4-5 people now that after finishing the career 100% on Normal difficulty, and then starting a new career on the Difficult difficulty, this achievement unlocked after completing the very short first mission, saving you a few extra hours of your life. If this doesn’t happen to you then you must repeat the whole process for obtaining 100% status but on the difficult difficulty. Secret Achievements http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/s1.jpg You're Grrrreat! 15G “Completed all objectives in India while playing Career Mode” See “Bear Shoots You!” http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/s2.jpg Mane Event 15G “Completed all objectives in Tanzania while playing Career Mode” See “Bear Shoots You!” http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/s3.jpg Nice shooting, eh? 15G “Completed all objectives in British Columbia while playing Career Mode” See “Bear Shoots You!” http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/s4.jpg Buffalowned 15G “Completed all objectives in Congo while playing Career Mode” See “Bear Shoots You!” http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/s5.jpg Bear Necessities 15G “Completed all objectives in Thailand while playing Career Mode” See “Bear Shoots You!” http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/s6.jpg Rumble in the Jungle 15G “Completed all objectives in Ecuador while playing Career Mode” See “Bear Shoots You!” http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/s7.jpg Bear-ing Straight 15G “Completed all objectives in Alaska while playing Career Mode” See “Bear Shoots You!” http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/s8.jpg A Spot of Luck 15G “Completed all objectives in Namibia while playing Career Mode” See “Bear Shoots You!” http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/805/s9.jpg Bear shoots you! 15G “Completed all objectives in Russia while playing Career Mode” As long as you’re going for the full 1000GS you will obtain all of these achievements naturally, otherwise to obtain them you must, in each mission, during career complete All Main Objectives, and All Secondary Objectives. I recommend turning Auto-Save off incase you missed out on one of the secondary objectives, because once the Auto-Save feature is used after finishing a mission you CAN NOT go back and play that level without starting an entire new career. If you did all objectives during the mission, the achievement will unlock right at the Mission Success Screen, if so, now would be the time to manually save your game. I did my best job on this guys, and hope you enjoy it. Thanks CrustyDirtDemon Special Thanks goes out to “T Man 360 Fan”, for verifying the Apiphobia Achievement and the “Rabid Completionist Glitch/intended Achievement” Also special thanks to x360a.org, I live on this site and enjoy all aspects of the site, and x360a.org helped me achieve 100,000 Gamer Score in less than 10 Months. Thanks to all x360a members for their contributions.

CrustyDirtDemon
To be honest I used to first rifle you start with, which is the .577, but just upgraded to the full extent, and also would use the pistol maxed out as my secondary, And for Hellbound, to get thermal vision you need to use the pistol to achieve it, just not sure how many kills in how much time... Parkerktm
Great Job on the Guide!!! I have a question of my own though, i see you said the game was very enjoyable, and i also saw that you've played Big Game Hunter, how did they match up to each other? I really enjoyed Big Game Hunter, played through the SP 4 times, just looking for some fun and easy GS. -Thanks
CrustyDirtDemon
This game actualy brings all the Cabelas into one except for Alaskin Adventures, I however truley enjoyed Big Game hunter, and this compared very well to it, If you liked Big Game Hunter you should enjoy this one also as it is more hunting oriented rather than looking for the hunting guides in the area for a half an hour before you can hunt your game... Sweet, i assume theirs not MP as well which will probably mean a rental for me . It's good to hear they made some improvements with this title, i guess we will have to keep our fingers crossed for the Cabela's Bass fishing game and hope it doesn't disappoint. Thanks for your help and like i said earlier, Great Guide!
Creech
In British Columbia, I seem to be missing something. I shoot the cougar at the beginning, then go shoot an elk (actually, I shoot four of them since the remaining three attack once I kill one for bait), pick up the bait, go confront the grizzlies and kill them. At this point, it says Optional objective is complete and the only things remaining are lure and hunt the cougar. I go to the bait area, kill the snakes, place the bait, and shoot the cougar. Mission ends. The problem is that I don't get the achievement for having completed all objectives in BC. I get 15 upgrade points, unlock the Namibia action zone challenges and unlock the .700 Nitro Express Double Rifle. I looked around, but it is a very small map and there doesn't seem to be anything else to do. Any suggestions? Edit: I figured it out. I was killing the cougar before he could get to his cave, and if you do that then you fail the objective "follow the cougar to his hideout". Stupid, but there ya go. Shoot him once at the bait, maybe one more time to weaken him a bit, then high tail it into the cave. At that point the timer goes away and you can kill him at your leisure. GLOCKGLOCK
Apiphobia 20G “Destroy at least 10 Bee Hives playing Career Mode” I just played through this and got it the achievement half way through my playthrough on difficult. Here is where I found the hives: Tanzania: (2 total) 1. One is down by the water, below where you walk over the log 2. After you cross the log. I believe this was to the north. Ecuador: (3 or 4) 1. When you jump down after you save the woman from the snake it is on the left by the water 2. Right before the water with the Piranhas 3. Right after you cross the water with the Piranhas 4. (I could have sworn there was 4 when i went through on Normal, but only found the 3 listed above on Difficult Tanzania Bonus Mission (1) 1. This is in the trees on the left side of the map about 1/2 way down I got the achievement after defeating Ecuador my 2nd time through. Hope this helps. PerfectAnt
just an update i dont think thermal is for handgun only. i got it on namibia platinum, while shooting elephants and rhinos with the .577. i think it might have something to do with shooting multiple targets. i also got it again on namibia gold i believe and i never once used the handgun. mull3t
I'm not so bothered about getting the full '1000G' for this. But, however, I do wanna get as much as I can without too much time. (dont get me wrong I do enjoy the game, but all past cabela's have been too easy!). So, through a typical play through, how many G could I get, and what sort of timescale? Patmaster
You should add a statement for the rabid completionist glitch for the PAL version of the game, as the rabid completionist ach. will NOT unlock the way it unlocks in the NTSC version. There is a thread where I have posted the way it works for the PAL version.
