Smoochy
Can't remember which one I played first, but I remember it being either Mortal Kombat or Killer Instinct. Loved both of those games. I remember when a friend of mine (who is a few years older than me) bought Resident Evil 2 and I refused to watch him play it because I was so terrified when I saw it. colt415
My mom would have never bought me any M-Rated games, but I was over at my cousins house back in 1999 and he let me play Silent Hill.
LordDurham
The first Unreal Tournament. I was 10 years old when it was released and my parents bought it for Christmas. Some of my friends still talk to me about how you could dismember people in that game , seems like it was a bigger shock to them than it's been to me
Rep
I can't remember, but It was either Resident Evil or DOOM. Maybe even Mortal Kombat.
Vampire Amaya
I remember when a friend of mine (who is a few years older than me) bought Resident Evil 2 and I refused to watch him play it because I was so terrified when I saw it. I had no problem playing the first 2, but when it came to Nemesis I shit myself! Haha. I dunno why, but something about him scared me. It's like I was in the game and I was terrified of him killing me.. Though I suppose it could have had something to do with the fact that I was only about 10 or something lol
Wildmn34
Man, talk about a deep think question. I know I played the original Resident Evil game, and I know I played the original Mortal Kombat. My gut says I may have played something before that, Maybe Doom... but that made me sick so I didn't play much of that. Great topic regardless. JT Fever
well another trip down (a long) memory lane, i dont think this game had a rating but i believe it was banned in some countries and then recieving 18 rating, so i think it counts. I was 13, and i still to this day have not cut someones head off http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barbarian:_The_Ultimate_Warrior

bigbear.
I honestly don't remember what my first M-rated game was once they actually introduced the system. However, I do remember the first game I played that would have been an M-rated (or higher) game had the system existed: The original Leisure Suit Larry. I played it on the Apple IIe when I was no more then 5 years old. You had to answer a bunch of questions to "prove" your age before the game would load up. They were basically pop-culture/political questions about the 60s and 70s. Edited March 28, 2012 by bigbear.
Petturi
Mortal Kombat, Wolfenstein 3D and Doom are my first M-rated games.
Mutalus
Duke nukem 3D at school. The first one i owned was probably GTA 3. My childhood was very protected. I remember once i called a game store to buy soldier of fortune. I was underaged so they told me to ask my mom to give permission. She didn't come to the phone while i threw a tantrum and told em ill call you back Then i called later with a sad voice and said "ill take Dead or alive 2" Sometimes i wonder if they still remember me at that store. Its still running and i buy most of my games from there.
Vampire Amaya
I was underaged so they told me to ask my mom to give permission. I've never been asked for ID or anything like that when buying a game, yet when it came to films and parental advisory stickers on music, suddenly I didn't look old enough :/
otaking live
Yeah I have no idea. But I got some of those Atari 2600 porn games.
Broken Turtle
I guess my first one would have been Friday the 13th for the NES (before ratings were introduced). Came out in 1989. I was already in my late teens and grew up on horror/violent movies so I don't scare easily. Never was really a thought for me.
Blink
Resident Evil 2. I was around 10(ish?) at the time, and I used to wake up with night terrors over zombie dreams, but I still played it the next day haha. I never finished it though

MaseJ
Can't remember if Diablo was M or not but that's the earliest one I can remember. That and Duke Nukem 3D.
Xtowers
I think it was Perfect Dark. Was Goldeneye M-rated?

Really? I watched a playthrough of it and just laughed at how silly it is. I can't even see it being scary for a young child.
CyberPunch83
If memory serves, the first M-Rated game I ever played and didn't just watch was Halo 1 on the Xbox, around December 2001. A close friend got one of the first Xboxes and wanted to show it off. It was brilliant.
Motorexskygtr32
My first mature game I played was arcade/snes mortal kombat in 1992 when I was 9 but esrb and rating pending wasn't invented until a year later so technically, mortal kombat 2 for snes was my first mature game. My mom know about violence and bloody games and let me and my brothers play any mature games for snes back in early 1990's. It's pretty much common sense to know what's reality and fantasy in general from my mom's persceptive so she trusted us that we know what we were doing and grow up fine as dandy. AvengingCactus7
I think it might of been the first Resident Evil game. I never went to arcades. I still remember hanging out in my friend's basement and waiting for all those doors to open.
Silentfire89
Ah, the memories: "Man, I really wanna play this GTA 3 game. Everyone's talking about it!" "Come round mine, i've got it." "How, it's an 18?" "It's my older brother's." Edited March 31, 2012 by Silentfire89
