Gleylancer
http://www.gley.net/guides/wo3title.gif Musou Orochi 2 / Warriors Orochi 3 Overview: Estimated achievement difficulty: 4/10 Estimated time for 1000G: 100-150 hours Minimum playthroughs: 2 Missable achievements: None Glitched achievements: None Difficulty Setting affects achievements: Yes Offline: 43 (1000) Online: 0 (0) Cheats disable achievements: No cheats. Introduction: Welcome to the english guide for Warriors Orochi 3. I have no excuse for delivering it this late. The japanese and english versions are stackable, which means, you can unlock 1000G in each of the versions. Of course, any die-hard fan of Musou games with a japanese console will want to go through this torture twice. Use my japanese guide for all the translations you need and this will become just as easy as playing the english version. Game Introduction: Warriors Orochi 3 is the sequel to one of the most repetitive hack'n'slay game in the world. The game evolves around the characters of Dynasty Warriors (Shin Sangoku Musou), which tells the story about Sanguo Yanyi (a chinese novel known as Romance of the Three Kingdoms) - and Samurai Warriors (Sengoku Musou), which tells the story of Sengoku Jidai - the Warring States period in Japan. Even though you get TONS of main characters from these Stories, the game doesn't tell anything about them - and rather mixes those characters up with a fictional Story. The main characters are: - Da Ji (Concubine of King Zhou of Shang in ancient China) - Kaguya (Main character in the japanese folktale "Tale of the Bamboo Cutter") - Kiyomori Taira (A military leader of the late Heian period of Japan) - Nezha (A Taoist in chinese buddhist mythology) - Orochi (Yamata no Orochi, an eight-headed dragon in japanese mythology) - Shuten Doji (A japanese mythical oni leader) - Sun Wukong (Main character from the chinese fictional story "Journey to the West") - Susano'o (A storm god in japanese mythology) - Taigong Wang (A sage and military strategist in ancient China) Game History so far: 1. Musou Orochi (JP) = Warriors Orochi (US/EU) 2. Musou Orochi Maou Sairin (JP) = Warriors Orochi 2 (US/EU) 3. Musou Orochi Z (JP) = no release outside Japan 4. Musou Orochi 2 (JP) = Warriors Orochi 3 (US/EU) Step 1: Complete the game once on NORMAL mode. This way, you will be able to unlock a lot of achievements and get crystals at the same time. Crystals are unavailable on easy mode and you need 100 of them for one of the achievements. Take the first playthrough to get used to the characters and try to find 3 favorites, preferably the ones that can keep their back free of danger. Get 3 characters to level 99 for the playthrough on Chaos. Build strong Weapons, preferably with Agilily and Slay enhancements. The big-star weapons can be stronger than level 4 weapons if you get the compatibility to maximum. Step 2: Complete all the bonus and Redux stages. Keep going, Characters and Stages will unlock as you talk to people in town, complete more stages and achieve friendships. You can't miss anything, people in town will keep reappearing. When you're done with this step, you will have all the characters. I will provide a complete stage unlocking chart at the end of this guide. Step 3: Get all Level 4 weapons and hidden items. Buy the weapons, do the item unlocking quests as described below. Step 4: Complete the game on CHAOS mode. The highest difficulty can give you a real challenge, at least at the start. It isn't as easy as Warriors Orochi 2 was, but upgrading your weapons on 3 good characters can make it quite easy. The biggest problem getting chaos mode cleared are enemies with ranged weapons, so it is recommended to choose characters that stay in motion at all times. One of the best for this is definitely Ayane. Mount her on Red Hare and she cannot get hit by arrows, unless the archers are on higher ground. Farm weapons on 9-star hard or chaos mode battles, upgrade them, then get the compatibility to max. The best enhancement seems to be Brilliance. It is a bit of a challenge at the start, but if I can do it (twice), anyone can. Step 5: Get all the unlockables. You will have to get all 132 characters to Proficiency Rank S. This will take hours and hours and hours of soldier killing, like the Proficiency Boosting in Warriors Orochi 2 did - just more of it. The game doesn't really offer much stages to keep it interesting, but you can buy all the DLC stages. You should level Dodomeki to Proficiency Rank S, add him to your boosting party and use the Mystic's Brace item, as these things will greatly enhance proficiency gain. For information about the DLC Stages, click: Part 1, Part 2. Conclusion: From all the games Omega Force has made, Warriors Orochi 3 is by far the best in my opinion. Though it completely lacks all the great original stories, leveling up all the things in the game is incredibly fun and addictive. Thankfully, they've also done everything right with the combo system *cough* DW6 *cough*. Getting 1000G is quite some work, but not a problem for any fan of the genre. Level 4 weapons can be bought from the shop during chapter 4, you can also obtain them in the higher level scenarios/difficulties or use the lottery tickets to get 10 random weapons for each ticket spent. I recommend doing this after you get all characters. Once you've used all your tickets, buy level 4 weapons for the remaining characters. The achievement will unlock once you complete a battle with everyone having their level 4 weapon. http://www.gley.net/guides/mo2-galleryofheroes.jpgGallery of Heroes 30http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/g-icon.gif Unlock all officers for play. Most officers unlock by completing normal scenarios, however, some, like Magoichi Saika, need to be rescued in order to receive their support. Each character in the game has two wallpapers. You can unlock these if you hit proficiency Rank S with each character, which means you will need to do this with all 132 characters. The best stage for proficiency boosting might be "Rescue at Yiling" in Chapter 3. After exiting the Stone Sentinel Maze and rescuing the two yellow units, Guo Jia will request that you take the bridges. Defeat Bushmaster in the southwest region while Tadakatsu Honda takes the other one, then Guo Jia will launch the fire attack. After this, most soldiers will die in one hit and it's incredibly easy to get proficiency. Helpers to boost proficiency gain: - The item "Mystic's Brace", 30% Bonus at item level 20. - The Weapon Enhancement "Industry", 0.5% bonus per level. - Having Dodomeki at Rank S in the Party, 5% bonus. Some facts about proficiency gain: - The gain value is calculated from the KO'd enemies tier, not the amount of damage you do. Generals raise it more, Archers a lot less. - Difficulty does not enhance proficiency gain, however, higher difficulty can spawn higher tier enemy soldiers. - Destroying siege weapons raises proficiency. - KOing enemies by running them over with your horse raises proficiency. Gleylancer
http://www.gley.net/guides/line.gif Stage unlocking list http://www.gley.net/guides/line.gif http://www.gley.net/guides/wo3-stages.jpg Most stages unlock by playing others and talking to NPCs in town. However, certain Gaiden Stages need to be unlocked by achieving friendship status between certain characters: Battle of Mikatagahara - Lianshi, Lu Meng and Masanori Fukushima Battle of Taoshui - Lianshi, Ishikawa Goemon and Toyotomi Hideyoshi Battle of Jieting - Xing Cai and Keiji Maeda Battle of Komaki-Nagakute - Zhuge Liang, Huang Zhong and Hattori Hanzo Chaos of Tetorigawa - Zuo Ci, Benkei and Xu Huang Battle of Liang Province - Liu Shan and Guan Suo Battle of Guangzong - Sima Yi and Masamune Date Battle of Mount Xingshi - Ginchiyo Tachibana, Xiao Qiao, Sun Shangxiang Purge of Nanzhong - Zhurong, Meng Huo and Zhang He Battle of Jiange - Motonari Mori and Jia Xu To boost friendship, take the characters involved to the tea house and do 2 moonlight viewing between each of them. Say you have Lianshi, Lu Meng and Masanori Fukushima. Take control of Lianshi and go to the tea house, do two moonlight viewing with Lu Meng, then two moonlight viewing with Masanori Fukushima. Change to Lu Meng and do two moonlight viewing with Masanori Fukushima. Each character will get a +300 to relationships with the others. Now take these 3 characters into any battle and complete it. This will raise the relationship to the next level, which you cannot do in a banquet. The relationship bar will go yellow and npcs will apear in town. After talking to them, the stage will unlock. The last locked stage in chapter 4 can be unlocked by obtaining support of ALL characters but Orochi, Orochi X, Sun Wukong, Taira no Kiyomori, Susanoo and Ne Zha - and then replaying the chapter 4 stage which is the only one directly connected to it. I've added a complete stage flow chart, Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, which you can use if you're worried to miss something, although that is impossible. Gleylancer
http://www.gley.net/guides/line.gif DLC Stage List http://www.gley.net/guides/line.gif Warriors Orochi currently has 11 Stage Packs without any achievements for download. They're mostly recycled stages and dialogues, and there's not much good to get from it, unless you're interested in a great number of stages that are about Dong Zhuo being a dick. My motive for buying these was that I didn't want to grind all that proficiency in the same stage. After finishing all of these, I was left with 23 characters to max. You also get 60 new musics and a lot of joke weapons for most characters, I'm not covering these because there's no real reason to use them. There is one notable stage in Pack 6, "Speed is of the Essence" which is absolutely great for weapon farming in Chaos mode, as well as weapon compatibility grinding. It has a time limit of 15 minutes and everything that spawns on the map charges directly at you. This is completely optional, of course. Tyger7
I'm glad you have decided to make an English version. I am playing the game currently and have done my own guides for Empires 6, Strikeforce, and Warriors 7. If I see something to point out while I play, I will let you know but does look like you have it all figured out Edited March 15, 2013 by Tyger7
SoulxSync
Amazing guide for an amazing game. Chaos mode was surprisinly tough in this game. Fortunaltly there's a bunch of stupid broken characters such as Xiahou Ba, Orochi X, Mitsuhide and Nu Wa. I suggest using Xiahou Ba with the folowing setups since he's probably the fastest killer in the game: Agility/Osmosis/Absorption/Wind/Slay/Bolt/Might/Blast Battle plan should be buff with special and C4->EX all the way. Kills generic officers in 1-2 hits. If you can't handle his buffed speed or want to kill officers in less hits, substitute Agility for Courage. His walking speed is also faster than the Red Hare when buffed, no need for a horse. You could also abuse the team attack invincibility for more lulz. Wang Yuanji with Confluence/Echo/Ice/Bolt, the rest doesn't really matter since you'll just use her to build your TTA meter. Her normal attack strings should fill your TTA meter to full or close. When full, switch to your main character and activate your team attack. This is especially useful against buffed up officers such as Nezha, Susano'o or Orochi X. Gleylancer
The game is stupid easy with Ayane and Typhoon, Multi, Brilliance, Ice, Agility, Slay, Range and Brawn. No need for any other characters, True Triple Attack or any Musou Move. She's like a mixer that freezes everything, blocking npcs aren't a problem because you can just get behind them. On Red Hare, she is close to invincible, because arrows and bullets can't hit her, unless they are on higher ground. There are many other characters that are pretty powerful too. Even Bao Sanniang or Maeda Toshiie can clear Chaos Mode easy, as long as there's Brilliance and Ice or Bolt attached to their weapons. I liked using Xiahou Ba at the beginning but somehow I went back to what I used in the japanese version. Drias
I found it easy to get S ranks on people. Play through the game and beat it with all the post-mod levels. Once that's done, you should have a Mystic's Band thats around +16. What this does is increases the rate in which the proficiency rises. Coupled with Dodomeki with a Rank S Proficiency and Industry on a Weapon (level 3 industry or more), and do Ch. 1, Ueda Castle. I also choose to take Da Ji for more experience per mission. (most from Ueda on Easy was 30.6k xp) It gets stale, yes, but i've gotten a max of 2600 kills on that mission, and the mission has 22 officers in it. For me, with Industry +4, Dodomeki S ranked and a Mystic's band +18, every battle, takes me 9 to 10 minutes, and at level 10 (using growth points), from Rank G, by the end of the battle, i'm at 1700-1900 K.O.s with 22 Officers killed, and went from G, to 1/4 away from A. next battle takes less than 6 minutes, and taking out main officers to make sure you don't fail the mission will result in getting S proficiency. SoulxSync
Rescue at Yi Ling with a max proficiency Dodomeki allows you to max 2 fresh characters equipped with a level 4 weapon and mystic brace in 1500-1700 kills each in about 15-20 minutes. Here's a few tips Crystal farming: Killing enemies with team attacks has a chance of making them drop crystals. Like how I wrote a few posts above, Wang Yuanji is the character that fills the TTA meter the fastest using her normal strings. My personal build was echo/confluence/ice/brawn/bolt/slay/agility/might. I'm not too sure if brilliance or multi affects her attacks. If it does, I suggest adding those two. I manage to get myself 50 crystal on Susano'o's Last Stand on chaos in one run. Weapon farming: It is highly recommended to use either four stars or big stars weapon when tackling chaos mode. You'll also need to grind for those weapon attributes. Having either Gracia, Xiao Qiao or Bao Sannang in your team is highly recommended because of their Fortune ability. I personally used Susano'o's Last Stand since it's pretty quick to complete and there's quite a few weapon boxes you can pick up. Remember to have the prosperity attribute for a high chance of enemies dropping weapon boxes. For a chance to obtain the overpowered brilliance, you'll have to play on either hard or chaos. Chaos mode: Like Greylancer mentionned, pretty much any characters with brilliance can plow through the game, Ayane being the most ridiculous since her movesets makes her pretty much untouchable. You'll want to have two other strong characters on your team just in case she gets low on health. Xiahou Ba, Orochi X, Mitsuhide, Ling Tong, Nu Wa, Wang Yi or Gracia are good choices. Also I suggest maxing out your team mates's bond, those support attack will be life savers. Edited January 26, 2013 by SoulxSync

Craphex
loving your updates, competed the game with 2/3 endings, i still have a few characters left to unlock which are in the middle of your walkthrough, so do i just complete those levels again then talk to them. Also when you mention bonds up then play as them, how far do the bonds have to be?
SoulxSync
For the first question, I take it you mean the characters you unlock from the redux stages? For te bonds, just fill close to a third of the bar. You'll know when to play as them when it wont go up anymore. then talk to the characters at the camp. Nice update btw, the dlc stage "Speed is of the Essence" is the absolute best for weapon grinding. Pretty expensive tho, i believe it was 320msp.
