The goal is to grow your global empire from its roots as a tiny settlement. You can win by wiping out all of the other computer-controlled civilizations, or by raising your economy, culture, or technology to a specific level first. There are 16 civilizations to choose from, but unfortunately, they are not all that different. For a more in-depth review of the game from WPCentral, click HERE. Currently the game is listed at $2.99 in the Windows Phone Store. Step 1: Win one game with all the civilizations You need to win one game with all 16 civilizations. It can either be a random-map game or any of the scenarios. See the "Difficulties Mastered" achievement for a method that will allow you to win each game in under 20 minutes. Step 2: Mop-up Once you win with all 16 civilizations, you may still need to mop-up some of the three miscellaneous achievements. If you know what those achievements are while playing for your 16 wins, you can get them along the way, with no need for Step 2. Conclusion Civilization Revolution's achievements lack any real flavor and end up being nothing more than a boring grind. However, because of the quite fast method for winning with each civilization, the game should only take around 4 to 7 hours to complete and is not at all challenging once you learn the basic game mechanics. Luckily, a much faster method has been discovered, albeit a very cheap one. This method will allow you to complete each game in 15 to 20 minutes, depending on how well the other civilizations are hidden. Follow the steps below (credit to K4n4ge on TA for finding this): 1. Play the Art of War scenario on Chieftain difficulty. 2. Build your first settlement. 3. Build three tanks, one after another. 4. Combine the three tanks into a tank army. 5. Move the tank army all over the map finding civilizations to conquer. 6. Take over 4 capital cities to win by Domination. This method becomes even faster if you use the cities you conquer to build Cruiser ships to carry you tank army around the map quickly. Also, you can use some of the cities to build Fighter planes that can move much farther and help you explore the darkened sections of the map faster. For a more in-depth description of the method, see THIS post on TA. Take note of the miscellaneous achievements and complete them along the way as well. Arsenic 17
MISCELLANEOUS ACHIEVEMENTS (3 for 30 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png) The following 3 achievements are obtained by completing easy miscellaneous tasks and can be done with any civilization in any game mode. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2289/UPgqEi8=.jpg Armed and Dangerous - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Earn a special unit ability in combat To earn a special unit ability, you need to win six consecutive battles in a row with a single unit or army. This can easily be done when going through the Art of War Scenarios with the strategy above. Just make sure to use the same tank army to kill six enemies in a row. This can be enemy units, barbarians, or enemy cities. With a tank army on the easiest difficulty, it is almost impossible to lose a battle. After winning your sixth fight, the game will give you two choices for a special unit ability. Pick one to unlock this achievement. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2289/UP2I+dY=.jpg Technologist - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Research your first technology This is the only achievement that cannot be done in an Art of War scenario. It can be done in a Random Map game, or any of the scenarios where all technology is not already researched. At the end of your very first turn in any game, your scientists will ask you to select which technology you want to learn next and it will also show how many turns each will take to complete at your current rate of scientific production. Choose one and fully complete the research by finishing the required amount of turns. Using a famous persons ability to automatically complete the research will NOT unlock this achievement. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2289/UPxoAUU=.jpg Uncharted - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Explore your first natural wonder Natural wonders are scattered around each map and look like small temples. There are only a few of them, so look carefully. Most of the time your need to build a cruiser to take a ground unit to other islands (or fly there with an airplane). To "explore" a natural wonder, all you have to do is direct a unit to go directly on top of the temple. You will surely come across at least one of these while winning the 16 games in the Art of War scenario. GUIDE UPDATES: 10/18/12 - Guide created and complete. 10/21/12 - Corrected the information about the "Technologist' achievement based on some new information. Thanks to TemporalWizard for testing the achievement. Edited October 22, 2012 by Arsenic
TemporalWizard
http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/2289/UP2I+dY=.jpg Technologist - 10 http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.png Research your first technology At the end of your very first turn in any game, your scientists will ask you to select which technology you want to learn next and it will also show how many turns each will take to complete at your current rate of scientific production. This can easily be done when going through the Art of War scenario with the strategy above. However, these scenarios start with all but one technology already researched, so you will have to choose the only option, "Advanced Technology." Ignore its rather long research time (usually 4000+ turns) because you can finish the research by simply choosing to use a famous person's ability to complete your technology currently being researched. By the time you conquer all other civilizations, you should have had at least one famous person join your civilization. This method doesn't seem to work for the achievement. I've completed the "Advanced Technology" research several times and have not received this achievement yet.
Arsenic 17
This method doesn't seem to work for the achievement. I've completed the "Advanced Technology" research several times and have not received this achievement yet. Thanks for the info. I wasn't actually sure since I did it in a normal game but figured there wad a possibility. Should take 5 minutes or less in random map mode. TemporalWizard
Your welcome. I figured that is what happened. I just wanted to let you know so you could correct the guide. After playing a normal game it appears that you have to research a tech from start to finish for it to count for the achievement (I was given my first tech from one of those little villages before it was finished and it didn't pop the achievement). Super easy achievement but needs its own playthrough on a different scenario or normal game. Updated guide. Cheers.
