Stackable Games for Gamerscore

Welcome to the newly updated Stackable Games thread on XboxAchievements.org, the old thread needed some updating and I'd like to personally thank anybody and everybody who has contributed useful information over the last few years to making the previous Stackable thread what it was. My goal here is to take the previous thread and evolve it to help other Xbox Achievement hunters like myself have a significantly easier time getting information about the games they wish to stack by supplying more information about each stackable game by providing extra information like glitched achievements, DLC, what language certain imports are in etc. Since as of starting this thread I have about 90% of the stackable games I figured I was the right person for the job but I could also use everyone's input. It'll take me a few days to finalize everything and get as much information as I can out there so please bear with me.

Q&A:

What is a Stackable Game?

A stackable game is a game with more than one list of achievements whether it be across multiple regions and platforms. On the Xbox 360 generation of achievements we saw lists of games vary from a few extra regions due to things like censorship (primarily in Germany and Australia), change of publisher mainly in Japan (thanks Spike Games) but a few other exceptions along the way. Sometimes several achievements were pulled from specific games due to censorship like in Soldier of Fortune in Australia dismembering limbs is frowned upon.

Why are some Windows Phone and Windows 8 versions included but others aren't?

I'm still trying to compile information about specific WP and W8 games so some aren't listed yet but if the game is borderline the same across multiple platforms it gets classified as a Stackable Game. A perfect example of this would be any of the Angry Birds games. Lets be honest, they're pretty much the same game whether you play it on your tablet, phone or controller. The only difference is using a thumbstick or a touch screen. An example of a game not making the cut would be Mirror's Edge. Mirror's Edge on Xbox 360 is a 1st person Action/Adventure Platformer where on Windows Phone it's a side scrolling mobile game. Huge difference.

I want to make sure I purchase the correct version of a game. How would I go about this?

North America uses the ESRB system which looks like this:

http://www.esrb.org/search/images/yellow_box_ratings.png

The United Kingdom and most of Europe use the PEGI system, the PEGI logos are also located in the bottom left just like the NTSC games. The PEGI logos look like this:

http://www.pegi.info/en/index/id/33/media/img/320.gifhttp://www.pegi.info/en/index/id/33/media/img/321.gifhttp://www.pegi.info/en/index/id/33/media/img/322.gifhttp://www.pegi.info/en/index/id/33/media/img/323.gifhttp://www.pegi.info/en/index/id/33/media/img/324.gif

Prior to the PEGI system and I could be wrong so feel free to correct me, Britain used the BBFC system. These are only on the older games from Britain and the logos look like this:

http://moviequibble.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/bbfc.jpg

Japan uses the CERO system and it's very important that if you want a Japanese version of a game that it has the CERO logo on it. A game with no logo is usually a region free Asian version. The CERO logos look like this:

If you guys have any suggestions for the Stackable thread feel free to post your thoughts or you can always find me on Facebook or Twitter. Feel free to contact me whatever way is best for you.

Few things.

50 Cent is not in english. At the best, it's broken english. I remember specifically having trouble doing some of the challenges because they are all in Japanese. You can kind of sort-of figure them out. Like if it's 50,000 you need to get 50,000 money. If it's 3, you probably need to kill 3 of a certain type of person.

Still it's in japanese.

For bioshock, the Korean and German versions are in full english. They don't have any Korean or German in them at all. As for the japanese, it's not really minimal. It's more like mostly japanese with a few english words. Like, all the perks are in japanese, but for some reason the perks change to english when they become level 2 or level 3. But only a few perks level up. So for the most part you're stuck trying to figure out which perk is which.

All proper names are in english, but everything else is in japanese in terms of menus. I remember specifically having trouble figuring out which audio diaries I had as they were in Japanese.

As for Dragon Age: Origins... I'm really upset I didn't know that the Platinum Hits came with the DLC. I would've bought that. Are you sure Awakening comes with the Witch Hunt DLC? (I know on the dashboard, you can buy Awakening seperately from Witch Hunt. And on Trueachievements they have it listed a seperate DLC) I really, really hope it doesn't come with Witch Hunt, because I have Awakening and I bought Witch Hunt for $10 on the marketplace.

Really dropped the ball on Dragon Age and paid more than I should have :(

I'm just taking some information I picked from another thread while adding my own. I should have the base done tonight or tomorrow afternoon at the latest. I have more to post, I just had to run out last night and didn't get a chance to. I also plan on adding WP/W8/360/XB1 stuff that the original thread is missing but I need information on some games that I haven't played still so I'm going to be asking around tonight or tomorrow.

What does "stackable" mean? Like Oreos?? :)

http://www.silv4.com/images/stackable.jpg

That's alot of Oreos!

The Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 versions of Halo: Spartan Assault have 250 Gamerscore now, but the base is 200. The 'Operation: Hydra' DLC is 50 additional Gamerscore and is free for both WP8 and W8.

Unreal Tournament 3 Japan has a unachievable.

Is including 360/Xbox One games really the best idea?

Pants already has a thread about that: http://www.xboxachievements.com/forum/showthread.php?t=510806

Maybe just do a link an put a note "Some digital games will only have 400GS on 360 while all games have 1000GS on Obox One" or something along those lines.

Although if you do keep them for Spartan Assault add the note that the two console versions have multiplayer which the others don't.

Would it be a good idea to add the games serial codes? So people know they're buying the right version of the stackables.

Honestly I think including the 360/XB1 games in this thread are appropriate. The only thing I was hesitant on including was when console games get dumbed down mobile/tablet versions of games but so far it doesn't seem to be really an issue. If we're going to refer to Kinect SS/NG as stackable games in the last thread I don't see a reason not to include the 360/XB1 versions.

Note about Wolf 3D, it should actually read United States (or NA)/Standard and the US version got removed and replaced by the standard one.

Maybe a good idea to include info on games that share stats between versions and auto-pop achievements?

I know achievements in UNO Friends pops in one version if you did it in the other.

The standard version of Wolfenstein 3D is actually the EU (European) version and that's the version that's currently on the Marketplace. It was delisted a few years ago and re-released on May 31 2013 internationally. The Europe version that's listed above should be renamed as the North America version. It also was delisted a few years ago and hasn't and probably never will be re-released again. Obviously it still can be played if you previously purchased it.
