Jack Frost
All throughout the chapters are those cool Playboy magazine pick-ups with the nekkid ladies. A neat touch, to be sure, but there's just one problem: The game takes place in 1945 and Playboy didn't begin publication until 1953. I mean, shit, I realize the developers are Czech and all, but a simple Google search would've revealed that little factoid. I already knew and didn't have to look it up, but it takes me right out of the atmosphere of the game every time I find one. Granted, the game is set in a fictional universe, but then the publication should have been fictional as well. Something that reminds one of Playboy, but isn't Playboy... As it is, it just makes the developers look stupid...
Wer Bn
No. It's shows the feels and tendencies of the time being. And, I'm sure everyobody agree's with me here, are THE BEST COLLECTIBLES OF ALL TIME!
ChickinOnaChain
Agreed...one of the best collectibles I didn't mind. As for the big "oops" on collecting Playboys, years before they came out, I posted this on XBL when I startd playing the game. I was surprised how many didn't know this fact. Who was the first centerfold? Marilyn Monroe.
Jack Frost
Oh, don't get me wrong, I like the nekkid ladies. I wasn't suggesting they shouldn't have been there... I just wish they'd been more creative about it and done pornography of the time. Y'know like single B&W still photos that were obviously made by amateurs and such or even Tijuana Bibles... Y'know, like it really was at the time? That would've been really cool for them to have done that kind of research, but barring that they could've made a fake publication that only exists in Empire Bay and avoided the anachronism entirely. Y'know like the way Empire Bay tries to be New York but isn't? Something like that...
ChickinOnaChain
No one's faulting you for like them...not that I read anyway. I was pissed when I went back to find one and it wasn't there. I restarted my game and there it was. Unlike the posters, I took it that the Playboys were only found as the story was played.
Jack Frost
Gah! So I get to the part in the story where you spent a stint in prison and when I get out it's the '50s. Cool, I say, at least we're in the right decade... Then I realize the year is 1951! Still no Playboys in 1951!
Osirian08
I'm sure for these collectables we can overlook the slight anachronism with regards to the year
d00gler
I'm sure for these collectables we can overlook the slight anachronism with regards to the year Agreed! I also agree with the OP, though. It takes about 5 seconds of research time to find out this information! They could have used some nameless, period-correct images.
