I noticed the Phantom Breaker page posted a comment recently saying:

We will do better at keeping everyone up to date, and yes we know this update was vague, but it is the best we can say for right now. We hope to have more specifics sooner rather than later. Thanks again for your support.

Glad to hear that they will try doing a better job of informing people with future updates at least. I hope they can give us details on what is going on soon!

Here we go again. >_>

We want you to know that we appreciate your continued support of "Phantom Breaker". We, along with you, have a great vested interest in this title coming to market. However, the current boxed game business model and shifting digital gaming trends have made it difficult to bring this game to market as originally planned. Please know that we are as disappointed as you are in the delay and lack of information regarding the game's fate. This is not an official cancellation notice of the game, but it is a heads-up that it is at a point where it is difficult to release the game as planned. Thank you again for your patience. We hope to have a definitive word before too long, whether good or bad, on the fate of the game.

So yeah, still not cancelled, but this might be the "Make it or Break it" kind of thing on the fate of the game. (Even though its been out, long ago, just not bothered to release it.)

Well, if anything, its gonna be multiplatform, so yay, lol. :3 (Also, incoming wall of text, so yeah, since this hasn't been mentioned anywhere (other than at 7-S fb from a persons comment, which they should have done on their main page instead), and those are really missing it, so...)

We haven't made any new posts because there is nothing new to report. Everything said in the feb 7th post still holds true. We have tried MANY different solutions and none of them were acceptable so far. I know this all sounds like we are just toying with you and playing with your emotions by not telling you what you want to hear but believe us nothing would make us happier than to release the game to you wonderful fans. It's really a testament to the game how fiercely you all have been fighting for this title. One thing I do want to add that will hopefully clear some things up: There is interest for this type of game. There is a very vocal fan base for this type of game. BUT there was almost ZERO retail interest in the type of game. We would need roughly 13,300% of the current number of people who like the phantom breaker page to buy the game for it to make financial sense. That is not to say this isn't a great game and that people wouldn't enjoy it, as it stands however, it doesn't make financial sense. We are of course exploring other avenues and the moment we have some news on these we will of course post it here first. We are not blaming you the fans btw. quite the contrary. its because of your dedication to the game that the project is even still alive. If you didn't keep poking us for updates it would prove the game doesn't have a chance in NA which we, along with you, don't believe. If anything this should be a call to action for you fans to get vocal and reach out to retailers demanding Phantom Breaker!
So yeah, to demand for PB, lots of word of mouth needs to be noticed, too bad its taking very long just to release just a simple fighting game that's already complete, but anyways...here's another (Siliconera) article reasoning the future of PB and more about 5pb/Mages.

According to this Siliconera article, it looks like they are still trying to publish the original version. Apparently Mages is trying to get the publishing rights back from 7Sixty; and they want to publish both the original game as well as Extra in the US.

The article that I am speaking of is here.
