http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/551/+dybQA==.jpgApprentice: Win a single player match. I guess the easiest way to do this would be to do a match against Stanley (The monkey).

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/551/+-2S9Q==.jpgAnnihilator: Capture all your opponent's pieces in Classic Chess (Single Player).

Well again, Play an offline match against Stanley. Get all of his pieces off of the board before you put him into checkmate.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/551/+Dxj0w==.jpgBlitzkrieger: Win 1 game (Single Player) in less than 5 minutes (personal time).

When it says personal time it means time during your turn. So put it on regular time, and make sure during your game you win before the time goes down 5 min. I can suggest using practice mode, preparing your moves, and going against Stanley. Hes extremely bad. you can put your pieces at risk and most of the time he wont take them.

I think he gets smarter when hes running out of time though.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/551/-Z6IKg==.jpg Champ: Defeat a chess personality with an ELO rating of 1000 or more.

Again, this is single player. Pick the lowest Personality thats still above 1000, put it on practice. Now when you are in the game hit the RB and a menu should come up. Now hit the Hint. It shows you the piece you should move, and where to. Just do this for every move if you have to.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/551/-l95DA==.jpgGlorious: Achieve an online rating of 1200 in any type of chess.

And this is why i say MOSTLY completed Guide. I cant exactly explain how to get it. This is the one I'm still missing myself. I can easily get around 850-910 ELO in "Losing Chess". Most people don't understand the game. (See instruction guide in-game). Set the clock in a ranked game as hour glass, 30 seconds. Now make a few moves, the other person (assuming they don't understand the game) will probably get stuck and their time will run out. After you get to a certain rank the people with a 600 rating wont give you anymore points. So if you cant find another game to get it legit, this may be one of those Boosting achievements.

Also Ive heard that after you get around 5 losses in any game type its harder to gain/lose rating. The online rating system is pretty bad.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/551/-7+Bnw==.jpgGrand Strategist: Complete 30 puzzles.

This was the first one I went for. I simply went to Single player. Puzzles. I did the first type of puzzle. And completed it 30 times. In the first type of puzzle all you have to do is have your 1 piece knock out one of the black pieces that are not being protected by another.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/551/-JiVkQ==.jpgJack of all Trades: Win 1 online game in all chess variants.

Win One Classic,Dark, Losing , Progressive and Extinction Chess Game online.

Ranked or Unranked (Thank You IGC ELIMINATER17)

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/551/-XhtAg==.jpgMaster: Win 20 games (Single Player).

I am not sure if practice counts. So to be safe do "ranked" offline games

You can do all 20 of these against the same Person...Or monkey.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/551/-saAww==.jpgPro Player: Win 10 ranked online games.

See Glorious

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/551/-OeJdg==.jpgRising Star: Win online against a higher ranked player.

To make this easy on your self, start a losing chess match. The way described In Glorious. Except on your second move (Assuming your playing white) Just let the clock run down, so you lose. If will drop your rating so next game you will probably go against a higher ranking player and then win in the way described in Glorious.

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/551/-Qdx5Q==.jpgVeteran: Play 100 games (Single Player).

This is not as bad as it sounds. Go into a Single player match. Hit start. Hit leave, then hit Resign. Do this in Ranked Single Player Matches over and over.

I've Heard that Online Player Matchs count towards this as well as offline(klemperal)

I would recommend reading the FAQ on achievement guides: in general, you'll want to focus on correct spelling and grammar, and you'll want to be explicit when you describe how to get achievements. It's easy to write them so that they make sense to someone who's familiar with the game (in this case, with either chess itself or Chessmaster LIVE specifically), but many people who look at the guides may not be familiar with the game or with a specific task in the game, so they may need step-by-step help.

It's a good start, and the nice thing about doing it in the forum is that you can edit it based on feedback you get from other members. When you do it all at once and submit it, it's kind of a one-shot deal.

Even if all the words have been spellchecked, you should probably go over everything and check your grammar. Typos aren't acceptable in the guides now, and your little 'read a dictionary' thing isn't going to change that.

Well, do you feel like telling me what i did/ spelled wrong more specifically?I suck at spelling and grammar, so I used spell check a lot on that. As for grammar, well they don't have a check for that. But still its legible, anything that isn't please let me know

As for my 'read a dictionary thing' I just hate people that obsess on spelling and grammar.

Unfortunately, that's probably going to make it difficult for you to get a guide accepted. You may not value the ability to write well, but even on websites, well-written content is easier to read than casually- or poorly-written content.

I would recommend reading some of the guides that are mentioned as being well-written and seeing how the styles of those people differ from yours. The willingness to write a guide is a good thing; you just need to tidy up your writing a bit to match their expectations.

I am missing the Glorious achievement as well. I play classical chess and I am pretty good at it. I won 34 games and lost 2 but my rating is around 1085. The biggest problem is that you can not control who you play. If someone rated 600 joins my game and I win I will pick up 1 point and sometimes I do not even get a point. It just says rating unchanged. If I were to lose a game against a 600 I bet I would lose 50 or more points it is really frustrating and not a very good setup.

You still lack to tell me what i did wrong.

I never considered myself a bad writer, I just know i am bad at spelling.

But there are no spelling errors that you have named. Also I wrote casual, on a more personal level, Not robotic like. So My guide Tells is clear and casual, whats the problem.

Also as for reading other guides, Ive been around the site for about a year, Ive looked at Plenty. Also I don't like all the guides Up being they just tell you HOW and not the WAY to do things. I tried to explain the WAY more then the HOW being that i see it more helpful.

Tank you for the Input. But if you could be a bit more specific on what i need to do here, and in the future to improve my writing style, but not change it completely to match the ...how would a say, normal writing style?

Another thing I have problems with promising.Don't get me wrong, I try to never lie, Believe it or not(not saying that i never leave out information or joke around). Thats why I like to use the words "I guess" or "Probably". Its may just be something in my head, or a self invocate thing, Its kinda like a mental Rule book, which I used to have when i was younger, and sometimes it still comes back. Using those words may downgrade my writing, but its probably better for me, so i don't stress out.

Well, he DID use spell check before he posted that. :-)

I don't have all of the achievements, but it's getting really hard to get the 1200 one because my rating is about 1000 or so, which means I get no points from almost every game I play.

Also, am I the only one irritated that the "100 games" achievement has to be solo games, which are incredibly inferior to online games? Seriously weak . . .

It takes about an hour or so to get them all using the way mentioned above...

Well, as much fun as it might be to spend an hour loading and resigning games for 15 whole achievement points, I think I'll pass. Just wishing it was 100 games total, so that for those of us who want to EARN the achievement, it doesn't have to be against a computer the whole time.

For jack of all trades and chess regular does it matter if the games are ranked or not? This is something that should be mentioned in the guide--I have noting to say about spelling or grammar :) . The guide looks good so far by the way.

I did in ranked and never even tried player,

no it does not, i did both of them in ranked though but it doesnt matter.

but i will add this. Thank You
