Daniel55645
How do i play separate ways? It doesn't appear to be on the main menu... i think you have to beat the game first. it unlocks at the same time with mercenaries
bob101910
Isn't a trick it's part of the game. All it does is make Ashley invincable to attacks. This does work. Sounds like something that would disable achievements. Thanks for confirming it works

TVthePunisher
Aye, I did and I apologize for it. We worked on this pre-release so our assumption was that you could just beat Del Lago and it was a fancy saying...little did I realize you actually had to initiate the hidden death scene to get it to unlock. So yes, that is definitely a missable achievement. http://www.xbox360achievements.org/images/achievements/1865/+VUBwQ==.jpgDo Not Shoot the Water! 50 Summon the master of the lake. Don't rock the boat. Chapter 1-3 Near the end of the chapter you will be at a large lake with a dock and a boat you can use to get across. Before entering the boat, go to the edge of the dock and shoot several times into the water to force Del Lago to appear. The achievement will pop and you will have to continue from the beginning of this area (or, if you saved, you can load up at the typewriter in a nearby shack). Note: The boss fight doesn't actually occur until you near the other end of the lake, so you can always turn around and re-dock if you accidentally got on the boat. Zim
Indeed this why people shouldn't write achievement guides before they have actually played the right version. The guide is now very off as it lists the Del Lago achievement as unmissable when it most definitely is missable. Unfortunately most people don't check the later pages and just check the guide. Well I think the original author assumed that there wouldn't be much difference since he has probably played through the game many times before (both PS2/NGC), same as me haha. He most likely wanted to claim the Achievement Guide spot & credits before anyone else does. These are the results, unhappy users/readers. NO OFFENSE! Personally, as long as I've been a member on this site & reading plenty of guides, I also rather prefer people who are writing guides for games that they've have ACTUALLY FINISHED, meaning achieved the 200 or 1000 . Now I don't want to start any flaming or dispute. Since I own every single copy of Resident Evil for the Playstation & Game Cube System and played through these games many many times over and over again. I don't really need a guide for this. Again no offense nor hating, just pointing it out.
Plym
Yes, never trust a guide from someone who doesn't even own the game for the Xbox 360 at time of writing. Again no offense nor hating, just pointing it out. I can understand that people are upset over an early guide. However each discription was correct on the 20th because I had confirmed with japanese version players. People are just upset it is missing the information they wanted so the blame goes to an early guide. And Ill take that blame. I understand why they are upset and I am currently doing what everyone here is asking. So this guide is soon complete. I am doing my best helping people with RE4 questions and instead of asking they just get upset and go off about this early guide. I also stated at the TOP of the guide when I made it this wont be complete until US Release. Nobody read that I guess.
JuSt BLaZe
As I said before, no offense Teh Paralyzer. Sure it'll look better once you completely done with it. Here are some infos you can add to your guide if you want to, I already posted them in wright's "Helpful Tips" thread: ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. The code for the "3 family insignias of the dead ringers" behind the church in chapter 1-3 is: [spoiler=Code]3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 3. Reward is a Green Catseye which can be combined with a Beerstein. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2. The solution for the "insignia symbol in the church" in chapter 2-2 (before rescuing Ashley) is: [spoiler=Church]Rotate/Turn the red light 2x, the green light 3x and the blue light 1 time. Then combine it. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3. The solution for the "portrait puzzle" in the castle in chapter 3-2 is: [spoiler=Castle]1,3,2,4. Then choose OK. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 4. Solution for the "tablet puzzle" in the knights room while playing with Ashley in chapter 3-4: | 1 | 2 | 3 | |--------- | | 4 | 5 | 6 | |--------- | | 7 | 8 | 9 | |--------- | [spoiler=Ashley] Sorry, I know I could've done it better but here is the solution: 6,3,2,5,4,7,9,6,5,2,1,7,8,5,6,9 + insert the Stone Tablet. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lee71
1) first 9 achievements are story-releated achievements. 2) To unlock all costumes we need to complete the main game AND "Separate Ways" 3) finish the game on the highest possible level - the best way to do this is to select knight costume for Ashley and play easily without being worry abou her. 4) To unlock all figures - comlete shooting on the Tirs with best rating. 5) That's all http://gamercards.exophase.com/122186.png http://gamercards.playfire.com/_/xbox/375815/0/default.pngXbox Gamercards So, I don't have to shot all the blue medallions? TVthePunisher
Can anyone confirm if this "trick" really works? I'm asking since the guide was written ahead of release. As stated before, it's not really a trick but what subsequent games included in their releases with the costume. Like for example in an RPG if you put on armor that reflects Magicka, that's not a trick it's just a feature of the particular equipment. This is the case here too...it offers her invincibility and has been so for each release of the game the costume has appeared in. Also people need to calm down on this subject, honestly. Yes the guide was written early but you shouldn't jump Teh Paralyzer. It was reported over and over that the game would feature all the bonus content from the PS2 just with the Gamecube graphics enhanced in HD. For someone who has played the game countless times, naturally the idea to create a guide would come along early. Say the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time came out on the 360 and all the achievement names and descriptions were pretty self-exclamatory...you would figure you might as well create a guide before release so someone has something to reference rather than hear people bitching about how there isn't a guide up already. It's strange that all of this sprouted from a single missable achievement...Don't Shoot The Water. Every single achievement in this game except the bottle caps, professional mode and costumes were set to the story...so one would naturally assume from the description that it just intended for you to DEFEAT Del Lago, not activate the hidden death scene. Every other achievement relating to an enemy required you to defeat them, so why not think "maybe 'don't rock the boat' means try to beat him without getting knocked into the water" or something like that. It's an irregular achievement in a simple, 12 achievement list for 1000 points...NOTHING IS PREVENTING YOU FROM LOADING THE GAME FROM THE BEGINNING AND GETTING TO THAT POINT AGAIN...or loading a previous save BEFORE that point. By nature missable achievements CAN be in a different order unlocked...it doesn't hurt anybody's pride if you unlock it after killing El Gigante or even Salazar...so calm down and just play again...or hell, PICK IT UP DURING YOUR PROFESSIONAL MODE PLAY! Sorry...it's just irritating especially when someone says something like this: Yes, never trust a guide from someone who doesn't even own the game for the Xbox 360 at time of writing. I hope someone writes a new one from scratch. Even the layout in this one is bad. Way to be a bit curde... also the format is the universal one used on the site. There really isn't THAT MUCH to this game achievement wise. You complete the game (GOD FORBID THERE IS ANOTHER MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT...pick it up in your next playthrough), you complete the bonus Separate Ways scenario to unlock the second set of costumes then you playthrough again on Professional. This is an achievement guide, not a complete walk-through...there are plenty of those on GameFAQs. So if you don't like that...go to GameFAQs. JuSt BLaZe
So, I don't have to shot all the blue medallions? No it's just for a free bonus weapon @ the merchant. A gun called PUNISHER.
Teh Paralyzer
So, I don't have to shot all the blue medallions? No, you need to shoot 10 to get the Punisher free and early. 15 earns nothing.

eastx
Okay, thanks for clarifying that. I just wondered why Capcom would add such an achievement if it can be unlocked that easily. People still have to beat the game on Professional. Of course they need to make that an Achievement or only a few people would do it. Perhaps you're misunderstanding that you play as Leon and not Ashley. The suit just makes babysitting her much less of a hassle. Paralyzer, great guide so far! There's nothing wrong with the guide not being 100% complete and accurate on day one of the game's release. Please ignore the whines. If it was up to them, we wouldn't have a guide until a week or two later after somebody else had beaten the game twice, which means there'd be no help for beginners until then.
TVthePunisher
Yes, all the suit really offers is the fact that she is no longer something you have to worry about aside from progressing to the next area. Ganados can not pick her up and carry her away (any attempt will result in them falling on the ground as if you had shot out their knees) and nothing can damage her (though I do believe it IS possible to kill her, just not with any weapons). Think of it turning from an escort mission to a solo mission, you're back to playing as Leon in an environment where just about anything can still try and kill you as fast as they possibly can. You take a lot more damage from enemies and to my knowledge, they take more shots to kill. The mode is still a challenge it's just the suit of armor she wears provides some icing ontop of a nightmare cake. If only such a thing had existed in RE5's professional for your partner.. ElektroDragon
What is the easiest way to get to 1000? Play on easy then do hard with the extra weapons? Is that even possible? How do you even change the difficulty? I selected new game and it never asked what difficulty I wanted. I played this game on the Gamecube in 2005, but I never finished it on Normal because I got stuck at the boss battle with the cages and the red buttons towards the end. This guide only confused me further because its written by and for someone who had clearly beat the game 10 times over. Nice to hear some kind words on here. The solutions are correct so I don't get the hate. If they have a question just ask and I'll answer no need to bash. To the post above- You cannot use special weapons except on a New Round so you need to beat Normal Once then Professinal once without infinite ammo.
