Introduction:

Welcome to the japanese guide for Musou Orochi 2 / Warriors Orochi 3. The english version of the guide can be found here.

The japanese and english versions are stackable, which means, you can unlock 1000G in each of the versions. Of course, any die-hard fan of Musou games with a japanese console will want to go through this torture twice, so I am providing all the information you need to complete it without slamming your head onto the desk.

I created this guide early 2012 and changed the translations to completely match the english version in January 2013.

Game Introduction:

Warriors Orochi 3 is the sequel to one of the most repetitive hack'n'slay game in the world. The game evolves around the characters of Dynasty Warriors (Shin Sangoku Musou), which tells the story about Sanguo Yanyi (a chinese novel known as Romance of the Three Kingdoms) - and Samurai Warriors (Sengoku Musou), which tells the story of Sengoku Jidai - the Warring States period in Japan.

Even though you get TONS of main characters from these Stories, the game doesn't tell anything about them - and rather mixes those characters up with a fictional Story.

The main characters here are:

- Orochi

- Taigong Wang (A sage and military strategist in ancient China)

- Da Ji (concubine of King Zhou of Shang in ancient China)

- Kaguya (Main character of a 10th century Japanese folktale)

Game History so far:

1. Musou Orochi (JP) = Warriors Orochi (US/EU)

2. Musou Orochi Maou Sairin (JP) = Warriors Orochi 2 (US/EU)

3. Musou Orochi Z (JP) = no release outside Japan

4. Musou Orochi 2 (JP) = Warriors Orochi 3 (US/EU)

Step 1:

Complete the game once on NORMAL mode.

This way, you will be able to unlock a lot of achievements and get crystals at the same time. Crystals are unavailable on easy mode and you need 100 of them for one of the achievements.

Take the first playthrough to get used to the characters and try to find 3 favorites, preferably the ones that can keep their back free of danger. Get 3 characters to level 99 for the playthrough on Chaos. Build strong Weapons, preferably with Agiliry and Slay enhancements. The "Joke Weapons" can be stronger than level 4 weapons if you get the compatibility to maximum.

Step 2:

Complete all the bonus and Redux stages.

Keep going, Characters and Stages will unlock as you talk to people in town, complete more stages and achieve friendships (see lists below). You can't miss anything, people in town will keep reappearing. When you're done with this step, you will have all the characters. I will provide a complete stage unlocking chart at the end of this guide.

Step 3:

Get all Level 4 weapons and items.

Buy the weapons, do the item unlocking quests as described below.

Step 4:

Complete the game on CHAOS mode.

The highest difficulty can give you a real challenge, at least at the start. It isn't as easy as Warriors Orochi 2 was, but upgrading your weapons on 3 good characters can make it quite easy. The biggest problem getting chaos mode cleared are enemies with ranged weapons, so it is recommended to choose characters that stay in motion at all times. One of the best for this is definitely Ayane. Mount her on Red Hare and she cannot get hit by arrows, unless the archers are on higher ground.

Farm weapons on 9-star hard or chaos mode battles, upgrade them, then get the compatibility to max. The best enhancements seem to be Multi and Brilliance.

It is a bit of a challenge at the start, but if I can do it (twice), anyone can.

Step 5:

Get all the unlockables.

You will have to get all 132 characters to Proficiency Rank S. This will take hours and hours and hours of soldier killing, like the Proficiency Boosting in Warriors Orochi 2 did - just more of it. The game doesn't really offer much stages to keep it interesting, but you can buy all the DLC stages which I will talk about later in this guide. You should get Industry enhancements for your weapons, level Dodomeki to Proficiency Rank S and add him to your boosting party and use the mystic's brace item, as these things will greatly enhance proficiency gain.

Conclusion:

From all the games Omega Force has made, Warriors Orochi 3 is by far the best in my opinion. Though it completely lacks all the great original stories, leveling up all the things in the game is incredibly fun and addictive. Thankfully, they've also done everything right with the combo system *cough* DW6 *cough*. Getting 1000G is quite some work, but not a problem for any fan of the genre.

BIG thanks for the 2012 version of the guide go to:

http://www.gley.net/guides/mo2-musoucollector.jpgMusou Collector 30http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/g-icon.gif

Obtain weapons level 4 for all officers.

Level 4 weapons can be bought from the shop during chapter 4, you can also obtain them in the higher level scenarios/difficulties or use the lottery tickets to get 10 random weapons for each ticket spent. I recommend doing this after you get all characters. Once you've used all your tickets, buy level 4 weapons for the remaining characters.

The achievement will unlock once you complete a battle with everyone having their level 4 weapon.

Unlock all officers for play.

Most officers unlock by completing normal scenarios, however, some, like Saika Magoichi, need to be rescued in order to receive their support. There are 132 characters total and you start with 3, leaving you with 129 to unlock. The List can be found below.

Obtain every equippable item.

Regular items can be collected from boxes during the scenarios, some defeated officers also drop them. However, there are a lot of hidden items that require you to do certain things on Hard and Chaos Difficulty. The list can be found below.

Listen to all the music.

Musics will unlock when you've played all the scenarios and events. There are two unlockable musics in the edit mode and gallery which you need to listen to, you also need to listen to the two different Game Over musics, one for getting K.O.'d and one for mission failure.

Join and win 100 battles with the same character, then the achievement will unlock. You can check how many battles you have won during loading screens:

Unlock all wallpaper.

Each character in the game has two wallpapers. You can unlock these if you hit proficiency Rank S with each character, which means you will need to do this with all 132 characters.

The best stage for proficiency boosting might be "Rescue at Yiling" in Chapter 3. After exiting the Stone Sentinel Maze and rescuing the two yellow units, Guo Jia will request that you take the bridges. Defeat Bushmaster in the southwest region while Tadakatsu Honda takes the other one. This will trigger the fire attack. After this, most soldiers will die in one hit and it's incredibly easy to get proficiency.

Helpers to boost proficiency gain:

- The item "Mystic's Brace"

- The Weapon Enhancement "Industry"

- Having Dodomeki at Rank S in the Party.

Some facts about proficiency gain:

- The gain value is calculated from the KO'd enemies Maximum HP, not the amount of damage you do.

- Due to this, Generals raise proficiency a little more than normal soldiers.

- Destroying siege weapons raises proficiency.

- KOing enemies by running them over with your horse raises proficiency.

- In the above mentioned stage, you need an average of 1200 KOs to max proficiency when you have all enhancements active.

Successfully perform a combo of 1000 or more.

I found this incredibly easy to do with Kaguya early in the game, have her musou full and run into a crowd, then shoop some lazors. You can easily get a 3000+ combo this way, my record is close to 7000 with her. Other characters, like Ayane and Wang Yuanji, work well, too. Just run into a crowd and nuke away.

Obtain over 10,000 EXP in a single battle.

If you defeat over 2.200 enemies during the first stage you will easily get this. If not, it will come naturally later. No effort needed.

Use a True Triple Attack.

This can be triggered with RT+LT once the Triple Attack gauge is full (it's the round one below your character's musou bar.)

Successfully complete a mission.

The game will offer you various missions on the stage preparation screen. Complete one to unlock this achievement. It involves things like killing soldiers and officers in a certain time frame, or without losing too much health.

http://www.gley.net/guides/mo2-perfectpartner.jpgPerfect Partner 10:gsicon:

Raise compatibility of a weapon to maximum.

If you keep using the same weapon, its compatibility will go up. You can upgrade it through fusion as you level up the compatibility, however, if you equip another, you have to start from zero again. Higher level weapons take longer to get to maximum. Having Gyuki at Proficiency Rank S in the party and using the Harmony weapon attachment can speed this up.

Purchase a weapon that costs over 10,000 gems.

Weapons with this price will appear later in Chapter 4 in the Weapon Shop. Buy one to get the achievement. You can also buy one of the "joke" weapons, which are available from the start, if you have the crystals available needed for them.

Achieved 3000 K.O.s.

Many stages have gates that keep spawning infinite enemies. Keep killing until you get 3000 in one stage. You can do this in the first stage (Prologue).

The best stage for this is probably "Retreat from Mount Ninutou". At some point, Lu Meng will start following you around and you can do whatever you want to. The stage has many enemy gates and a very very high spawn rate, just make sure you're not going near the escape point in the northwest.

Clear Story Mode with TRUE ending.

You will have to unlock all characters but Orochi, Orochi X, Sun Wukong, Kiyomori Taira, Susano'o and Nezha - then play "Orochi's End" in chapter 4. This will unlock access to the final two stages. After clearing both you will get the true ending.

http://www.gley.net/guides/mo2-missionmaster.jpgMission Master 30:gsicon:

Completed more than 10 missions in one battle.

Description is wrong, you need to complete 10 or more missions during a single battle. In battle preparation, you can select bonus missions. At the start, you will only get a few, but as friendship with other characters rises, you will get more of them. Select all and then complete them. It involves killing a certain number of generals and soldiers, as well as keeping a certain amount of health at all times. Achievement unlocks once the battle is won.

Stage unlocking list

http://www.gley.net/guides/line.gif

http://www.gley.net/guides/mo2-stages.jpg

Most stages unlock by playing others and talking to NPCs in town. However, certain Gaiden Stages need to be unlocked by achieving friendship status between certain characters:

Battle of Mikatagahara (三方ヶ原の戦い) - Lianshi, Lu Meng and Masanori Fukushima

Battle of Taoshui (洮水の戦い) - Lianshi, Ishikawa Goemon and Hideyoshi Toyotomi

Battle of Jieting (街亭の戦い) - Xing Cai and Keiji Maeda

Battle of Komaki-Nagakute (小牧長久手の戦い) - Zhuge Liang, Huang Zhong and Hattori Hanzo

Chaos of Tetorigawa (手取川機功戦) - Zuo Ci, Benkei and Xu Huang

Battle of Liang Province (涼州の戦い) - Liu Shan and Guan Suo

Battle of Guangzong (広宗の戦い) - Sima Yi and Masamune Date

Battle of Mount Xingshi (興勢山の戦い) - Tachibana Ginchiyo, Xiao Qiao, Sun Shangxiang

Purge of Nanzhong (南中掃討戦) - Zhurong, Meng Huo and Zhang He

Battle of Jiange (剣閣の戦い) - Motonari Mori and Jia Xu

To boost friendship, take the characters involved to the tea house and do 2 moonlight viewing between each of them. Say you have Lian Shi, Lu Meng and Masanori Fukushima. Take control of Lian Shi and go to the tea house, do two moonlight viewing with Lu Meng, then two moonlight viewing with Masanori Fukushima. Change to Lu Meng and do two moonlight viewing with Masanori Fukushima.

Each character will get a +300 to relationships with the others. Now take these 3 characters into any battle and complete it. This will raise the relationship to the next level, which you cannot do in a banquet. The relationship bar will go yellow and npcs will apear in town. After talking to them, the stage will unlock.

The last locked stage in chapter 4 (真・古志城前哨戦) can be unlocked by obtaining support of ALL characters but Orochi, Orochi X, Sun Wukong, Kiyomori Taira, Susano'o and Nezha - and then playing the chapter 4 stage (遠呂智討滅戦) which is the only one directly connected to it.

Listen to all the music.

Musics will unlock when you play the scenarios and events. This achievement will unlock when you clear all of the scenarios.

I got true ending but this AP didn't unlock.

Looks like not a lot of people picked this one up. I appreciate the guide, though. The weapon abilities are a bit hard to figure out but thankfully you can mix and match and you're never locked into one permanently. My Hayabusa is wrecking shop right now.

Hey there. First off, amazing guide. Has helped me so much thus far. Secondly, I'm typing on my phone right now so I'm sorry I can't quote. In the first post you mention getting a weapon with flash element, what do you mean by that? Second, I am having trouble finding the battle of Nagasaka to get the seven star band. I have unlocked all of the levels pictured above but none are called that. I'm sure its a translation thing. Also, just cause I'm sure I am not the only one wondering (ill find out within about 10 more hours of playthrough) but how exactly do the gold enhancements work? Do they replace an existing element or is it weapon specific so I have to build my compatibility again? Again, that you SOOO much for this roadmap!

This guy pretty much asked what I came to ask.

Its a great guide, but not knowing where this is is putting a nicely placed roadblock in front of my gold weapon bonus farming.

Suggestions on where it could be?

Master of Battle 30http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/../images/misc/g-icon.gif you reference the wrong achievement/stage, well you don't even mention what stage it is.

I see where the problem is here.

Look at the Blinding Speed achievement for that stage.

Probably just a typo on Gley's end.

Master of Battle 30:gsicon: you reference the wrong achievement/stage, well you don't even mention what stage it is.

Check the attached video, you can see which stage I'm selecting...

Regarding the seven star band, the battle it is clearly named "Battle of Nagasaka" in the japanese version. Like I said, I'm trying to get the english version asap to change things around. Let me know if you see anything else that isn't working for you.

From what I've seen so far, there are a couple stages that may be translated differently, but I haven't noticed anything else that was different or significantly different.

I've barely gotten any of the actual items though so there may be a couple of those that were changed as well.

Not nitpicking, just pointing out areas to look at when you get to it to maybe save you some time.

im sure but the video doesnt work on my phone and that was all i had last night.

so i had no idea which stage is all. so i look up at the achievement you reference and noticed you should change Blinding Light to Blinding Speed which also doesnt mention the level name.

yeah i think level names have changed in the localization anyway though.

lots of great work on the guide Grey!

anyone know why the US release of WO3 forum lnk goes nowhere but back to the home page?

edit: just watched the video. i figured that was the level you meant (just got to it and beat it). hilarious to watch someone run past every soldier straight to boss like that! :)

Hey guys, so with some context clues in the character unlocking guide I figured out the battle of Nagasaka is that level where you aquire Dian Wei in the redux. Sorry i dont have my game goin otherwise id let you know the name of the stage. His name is in the discription of the redux stage, just play the regular mode of that stage.

Edit: Battle of Changban.

Side note: the redux mode of that level is a great place to farm gold enhancements on chaos. its a 9 star and its all pretty straight forward. I can get outta there with 4-5 weapons each run through, with a few of them actually having gold enhancements. If you can get a good horse and find a character that you feel comfortable with fighting while on your horse this level is pretty easy and fast. 8 minutes or so.

Sun Ce (孫策) - Clear Chapter 3, "Battle of Nagasaka" (長坂の戦い)

Da Qiao (大喬) - Clear Chapter 3, "Battle of Nagasaka" (長坂の戦い)

Battle of Changeban is where my husband just unlocked Da Qiao & Sun Ce. It is the bottom square of the second column in the Chapter 3 selection area just below Battle of Yangping Gate.

So I went through the item unlock list and checked for of all the levels with name changes that have to do with items (basically no friendship stages or chapter 4) and found only three differences.

Battle of Yohei Seki=Battle of Yangping gate.

Battle of Nagasaka=Battle of Changban.

Battle of Fancheng=Battle of Fan Castle.

Zhou Tai

Quick question.

Which stages are these? I'm fine with the Jap. names, as those are the ones in the guide. However there is no key to the stage image.

Onyx,

From left to right,

Battle of Luo Castle

Battle of Nanjun

Retreat from Mt. Niutou

Battle of Mikatagahara

Which brings me to the other reason why i'm here.

This guide just helped me out a bit. I saw the map myself and realized I was missing Mikatagahara and I had beaten the game (good and normal endings) and I thought I had unlocked every character (cept for the ones you get from the True ending).

So looking further into everything I discovered that I was missing Gan Ning and Lu Meng. What made no sense was I should have gotten Lu Meng. I had definately beaten the redux battle to unlock him but for some reason I never got him. Weird...

Maybe you did what I've done a couple times and played the stage in Free Mode after doing some grinding instead of going back to Story Mode?
