FlevoHD
Hey guys, I have a quite big question about this game, is it worth buying? At one hand, I love RPG games and the reviews are great and the game looks fun, but at the other hand I'm not a shooter type at all The only shooter I've ever played WITHOUT auto-aim was Battlefield BC2 but is this a worthy purchase? Don't buy it. This game has autoaim. It's just called different. It's called V.A.T.S. The game is very grey with little color. There's no pink nor bright pastel-colors. Ending of the game is not worth it. At the end you can't do anything anymore but start a new game. Did I mention it is very addictive and will ruin your life? Are you aware of the gazillion of glitches in this game? Check out the "Known Glitches"-thread So, save yourself all this misery and do not buy it. ps. why did you post your question in the "Achievement Discussion"-thread? I'm gonna go ahead and completely disagree with this post (well except for the part about your post being in the wrong place). If you love RPG's you should get it, it's one of the best RPG's out in a while. I see that you played Oblivion, so you will be familiar with the gamebryo engine and how much of a pain in the ass it can be at times, so judge that one for yourself. As for the FPS element, I think it's prolly a better game to start on than something like COD. I wouldn't even call VATS and auto aim, it's more like it transforms the FPS aspect into a more traditional turn based combat system(not really, but it's a better description than auto aim). There are plenty of colors besides grey, the ending is totally worth it (especially if you were thorough in your play through). It's true that you can't play after the ending, but that was confirmed by the devs before release. Also, it would be stupid as almost none of the in game quests would make any sense after the main story is over (how can you work for /against ncr or legion when they've either already won or been destroyed?). I agree that it's addictive, but thats because it's awesome. I'd say go buy it right now...

My advice is not meant to be a discussion piece. If you want to give him different advice by all means go ahead but don't start criticizing mine. It is my opinion and it is not up for discussion. You may have a different opinion but I'm not critiqueing the points you are making. If you want me to do so let me know and I'll trash your points. 2. You start out by saying you're gonna completely disagree with me. Then I read your post. To my suprise you're very much in agreement with me. These quotes prove it. I'm gonna go ahead and completely disagree with this post (well except for the part about your post being in the wrong place). It's true that you can't play after the ending I agree that it's addictive C'mon be fair now and stop your tough talk. There are plenty more points you agree on. You just didn't write them down. 3. If you're that very very very smart. Why didn't you pick up on the fact that I was being a bit sarcastic. Did you not find it strange that I called the game addictive? Did you not find it strange that he mentioned auto-aim and I said the game has V.A.T.S.? I could go on with the list of clues but I don't want to get argumentative. ps. Point 3 is also sarcastic. I have not criticized the content of your post ... yet. ========================================================= Because I didnt want to make a new thread and this one seemed the most logical to me to post in I understand. I'm not saying you shoudn't have done it. You could have used the search-function. Then you would have found a more relevant threads like this one: http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=269624 However if you had used the above example-thread then someone would have commented on you reviving an ancient thread. Just remember, life is full of choices and consequences. And it is almost undoable to please everybody. :-) Do you think that your question would have been answered if you had read those ancient threads? gealt
No worries, I developed a pretty thick skin after 8 years in the military. You'd really really have to try to get me mad about anything on a forum. Glad to know that there's others out there who are really passionate about fallout, it was the first game series that really hooked me, the release of fallout 3 is what got me back into gaming after a long hiatus. crispycritter
So far the achievements seem to be pretty well done. I only have a little over half of them so far and am currently working through DM. Looking through the achievement list it looks like I should be able to get most if not all of the achievements.

KirbyTheAlmighty
i haven't played the dlc yet so i was wondering it any of them besides GRA effect the main game. take BoS add-on effected the main game of Fo3 but other dlcs were in competely different areas, are all four of these DLC seperate to the actual game? i just want to know so i can have the complete experience on a new game without having to get the dlc yet. None of them change the main game, if that's what you're asking. They're all separate.

He-Man
Why does the achievement guide tell you to start a new game for each playthrough? Just finish the ring-a-ding quest and save. Then just pick one of the four quests to complete, reload the save, then do the other quests. Edited November 9, 2011 by He-Man

One Winged Joker
Hi all, i am trying to complete the Gun Runner challenge Armed for Bear, can you tell me if the named NCR people respawn? Thanks I don't think so. Since they're unique characters, whenever you kill them will be the last time you're going to see them on that file. what is the 100% achievment difficulty The guide here estimates a 4 out of 10 difficulty. It's a matter of time rather than ability, if you ask me. But if you absolutely love the game like I do, don't worry about them, because difficulty decays to 0 out of 10. Just keep playing and you'll find you haven't had enough by the time you get all the achievements. Have my own question as well: are the Gun Runners' Arsenal achievements (those related to the challenges of one, two or three stars) glitched? A friend of mine told me he didn't receive the achievement when he managed to complete one of the challenges... Is he missing something? Or should I be careful about this cheevos, not to complete all challenges and miss them for some reason? Thanks in advance.
Deadsea 1993
The achivements in this game are much harder to get then in Fallout 3 in my oppnion as their not simple ones like, complete Story, place a mine or grenade in a pocket while pickpocketing, complete ''THIS'' side quest,Reach levels 8,14,20 with a certain type of karma, hack 50 terminals, pick 50 locks, find 30 bobble heads. Sure finding 7 Snow globes are much easier then 30 bobble heads, and hacking 25 terminals and picking 25 locks are half of Fallout 3's 50 in New Vegas, but the cause 10,000 points of damage with explosives, melee weapons, guns, laser weapons, unarmed weapons, heal 10,000 points of damage with food and Stimpacks each were much more time consuming then the collectibles and locks/terminals that were in 3. But still great game, great achivement list, I loved the ''Hardcore'' ''Courier that broke the bank'' and ''The gangs all here'' achivements the most. Hardcore wasnt that bad, more like ''Realitic mode'' Really hated the having to side with each main facton for their achivements. Mr. House,NCR,Legion,Yes Man. I did all but Legion's story achivements on Playthrough 1,by reloading a 3rd save file so I didnt have to do everything leading up to that point in the game over again. I hated that no matter who you side with you are doing the same tedious tasks over again (Destroy the Brotherhood bunker, complete Volaire quest for the boomers,Deal with the White glove society, and the Great Khans and Omertas, insert chip into NCR manframe, activate the Securotrons in the bunker, protect Kimball on 3/4 for the factions.) Only real difference is activating the securorton army like in Yes man and Mr House. Protecting President Kimball when you side with Yes man,Mr House,NCR, on the Legions side you have to kill him,and destroy the securtron army. So pretty much two small changes of pace :0 But all in all I started hating those story mission achivements by doing those missions a 3rd time,by 4th time I couldnt wait til it was over.
