Additions you want in a Sequel!

More monsters/enemies, and more variety in where they appear. Perhaps a somewhat longer main quest. Some tweaking of the pawns' speech patterns to ease repetition a bit and take note of which way you are generally headed so they don't say things meant to be said when you head the other way. An easier way to gift weapons and armor. Maybe even the ability to control your pawn in anothers' world.

Overall though, these are minor gripes. I just love the game, most pleasant gaming surprise I've had in some time.

Thought I'd note a few extra things,

-Definitely more monsters, as others have said. I was pretty disappointed when around Gran Soren I'm still running into wolves, goblins and saurians...All the area adds is random highwaymen to replace bandits, and zombies and cultists at night. Plus, up near the Shadow Fort there's a ton of goblins when they could've made that forest more interesting with some unique enemies. Ditto for the Witchwood having wolves every few seconds.

-Weather! I love weather effects in games. Though I guess it'd be kind of an issue considering the Drenched condition, hahaha. Maybe you could just equip a poncho or something, like the lantern. =P

-Ponchos. Yes, ponchos. I want to dress up like Toan from Dark Cloud or something. That said, I absolutely love the capes in this game, both their physics/swaying effects and their models, especially the variety of them. Best capes in gaming.

After you release a Pawn or it gets killed you should not be able to re-hire that Pawn. It would allow other players Pawns to possibly be used a little more if you werent able to use the same ones over and over.

Each new area should have some type of GIANT boss that you have to take down in order to get past!

A Horse or Teleports to major settlements, not just the capital.

Campfires.

Potion/Food Slots and Thrown Weapon Slots.

Specific Pawn combat based Commands.

Attribute Points.

Craft Skills.

Less useless Items but more specific Items.

Summonable Mutiplayers, not only just their pawns.

Just finished this. Port crystals should be available in the first play through.

Also, when scaling an enemy the camera views should work with you better. Too often when I was crawling on an enemy I saw it's ass or the ground and there's no way to move the camera. If I'm gonna crawl up on an enemy I should be able to see whats going on, not just a wing of a dragon or an ogres asshole.

Biggest thing was the back and forth though....travel 20 mins, do the quest, travel back 20 mins....I had to put it down a few times because I got bored with the back and forth. I don't necessarily want insta-fast-travel...make me work for it and gather $ for port crystals, but let that be an option on the first playthrough. I liked the night and day cycles, I get what they were going for there, it just got a bit boring.

Loved the pawn system, don't think multiplayer is necessary (then again Im biased, I dont think multiplayer is EVER necessary, wouldn't bitch about it though would just ignore it as I usually do).

A Horse

that would work for me as well.

I'd like to see a system like FFXII's Gambits used to control Pawns. I want to be able to ensure they understand priorities. I'm really happy with the current level of customisation in appearance; I wish it was more common! Splitscreen and online multiplayer would be an absolutely fantastic addition to the game - as long as the Pawn system was kept, rather than replaced. I'd like a more genuine feeling world, rather than having exactly the same enemies in exactly the same place. A more refined and focused storyline would be much appreciated also. Finally, I'm happy with the fast travel system in place, but it needs to be introduced in Gran Soren on the first playthrough in its entirety.

1. ability to rip pawns' throatboxes out. i muted voices (which included all cutscenes, regrettably) 1/2 way through 1st playthrough bc their advise/chatter drove me absolutely insane. nothing they said was relevant, useful, or important.

2. improve fast travel. or give me a horse. im just tired of running, then walking until stamina recharges. running, etc.

3. command pawns more effectively. i dont even bother trying to control them anymore bc they never do what i would want them to do.

4. fix camera angle/climbing direction control. I found sometimes the camera was impossible to control while climbing on some bosses.

5. I am a big proponent of single player games staying single player. However, I could see a Borderlands style coop multiplayer being pretty fun in this game (ie- being able to drop in and out). this game is a pseudo-multiplayer game to begin with, anyways.

I can understand the request for fast travel, but on the other hand the developers idea of ferrystones/portcrystals was good too. It forced the player to travel and explore, and I can't tell you how many places I wouldn't have found if there was an Elder Scrolls fast traveling system. I love fast travel, but I can live without it.

I would love to have a little more control over pawns actions even if it's only for buffing commands. For instance going in to fight the ur dragon and I have holy weapons, and then the mage buffs me with fire is pretty facepalm in my opinion.

Mostly I would just like to have 2-3 save slots. I'm guessing they did only one because they didn't want people making themselves 3 pawns and just abandon the feature of the rift and using other peoples pawns. I can understand their point of view on that, and if that's the reason then I guess 1 save will have to do.

I like the travel at it is. Sure more port crystals in PT1 would have been nice but I am actually enjoying PT2 a lot more, and I think the addition of extra portcrystals helps. Maybe it woudl have been nice if the rest camps at least had portcrystals you could travel too.

The pawns need better AI definately. I agree about the mage buffing you with the wrong elements is bad and counters your efforts at the worst time. Fighting against a dragon and a mage pawn has both fire and ice affinity but they cast fire on you is HORRIBLE and just plain dumb. Also having a mage stand there while harpies are swarming about is BS, and when you have a mage and strider and your fighting a griffin and its in flight and they just stand there... Thats not good either. So yes, definately better pawn AI.

Going up against golems or phantoms... I hate going up against enemies that can only be damaged by physical or magic attacks. I was a Sorcerer and I had to Warrior pawns and I couldn't do anything while they just stood there doing nothing. Maybe lighten up the resistance or something.

While multiplayer isn't a nescessity I think the sequal could benefit from it. I kinda like the idea of maybe being able to jump my pawn into someone elses game and help them out for possibly an XP, money, or item gains for my own game.

Yeah. They need to work on pawn AI.

Also, let me escort more than 1 person at a time. Hey. Lets travel to this place. And then back to the town, then back to the same place I was just at. Then back. Then travel to the same place again. Fun.
